    Well to celebrate the new job, Eva and I are going to hit Peter Luger's for dinner Sunday. I figure it will cost about 13 jump tickets. I usually go on my birthday and when my dad comes to visit. But we are making it an early steak and Bj day. (yes it exists 3/14 steakandbjday.com) And yes we are going to the one in Brooklyn, the one in Great Neck is not the same. Great Steak, a pretty lady and a few beers, life is good. PS: I know I was complaining about saving for gear last week; but, sometimes you just got to blow a few $$$ The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

    My wife doesn't jump and has no interest in ever jumping. We worked it out very simply, some weekends, we go to the DZ, some weekends we do what she wants to do. If you are just considerate of the other person, you can work it out. Just remember it can become a little tiresome to the non jumper (Eva is not a Whuffo, just a skydiver with 0 jumps

    I just off AFF and doin my solos for my A. I still get a little scared on the way up. I find that working through the dive in my head passes some of the time. I also talk with my coach or one of my friends a little. Take a few slow deep breaths and try to relax. Everyone is scared in the beginning. The key is to get yourself well prepared. Before you get in the plane, know the dive inside and out. Get a gear check from an instructor or JM. Smile. I know it sounds like BS but it helps me to smile. You will do fine!!     Should I do it? Do I give up sweet beer for the last few thing I need? Do I just borrow the few things I need and buy beer? This is a terrible situation to be in. What should I do? The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

    As someone who just finished AFF last summer, I can give you basic advice. 1) Get a good rest the night before. 2) Have a good breakfast and bring some snacks for during the day. (student life is VERY dependent on weather. 3) Listen to everything you instructors say. Ask questions. There are no stupid questions. 4) try to do multiple jumps in a day if possible. This helped me very much. 5) As hard as it sounds relax. 6) Be safe, have fun and post about it when you are done. I forgot, rule number 1 buy beer after your first jump off tandem and all other firsts. Be polite and friendly.     Well, I finally got hooked up with a canopy. It's a safire 189. Mike and Howard at the Ranch have been looking out for me and we have a deal. the only problem is, I agreed to try some Crew stuff with them after my canopy control class. They are taking this newbie to the dark side. Actually I am curious about Crew and Mike, Howard, Bubbles and everyone else has been great to me. So hopefully by mid June, I can try my first 2 stack. Now I just need to wait for the weather to warm up and get time from work. All I need is an altimeter and a helmet and I'll have all my gear!!! I might even consider saving the beer money for the last few things. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
