Partially healed sounds like I could be in the air quicker. Hope you feel better. And you heal 100% B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Congrats!!! Now go out and make a few jumps.

It is completely broken right down into the joint at the knuckle. I gues because it seems to go diagonally throught the ball (for lack of a better word) in the joint. I was planning to jump at above the Poconos while I was up there. Instead, I worked on the party set-up Saturday. And did not drink before the V-ball game. Then no beers because I took a percocet for the pain. All my "friends" drank all the beer. Oh well. I still had fun. So what is the rule with jumping with a brokwn bone? Is it wait until 100% healed? Wait until you can safely work all controls? Someone should know the answer to this. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

I know. Funny thing is that I get hurt doing "normal" things. I rarely get hurt doing what other people call risky things. I just want to know how long before I can jump. Hopefully no screws. ER doctor said it "may" need some "hardware" to get it to heal right. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Going up to spike the ball. My 6'4 buddy on the other stuffed it right back. The ball bent my finger back. It was strange to see my finger at about a 70 degree angle. Only the wrong angle. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Playing volleyball on the 4th. I have to see the Otrhopedist this week. The ER doctor said I might need a little hardware to fix it. Oh well, no jumping for a little while. Hopefully it's just a cast for a few weeks. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

I did not make it. I broke my pniky on the 4th. I might need a screw. I'll wait for the orthopedist. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

The paypal info is matthew@crocker.com. Matthew did not ask or encourage me to do this. In fact, I never had contact with him until today. I just think that he does something for the overall good of our community and it costs him money. The least we coud do is help out a little. And Matthew, I'll buy a few beers if we ever meet. Hell, if you come to the Ranch on 7/10, I'll be buying LOTS of beer for my A. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

I am in NO WAY Affiliated with skydivingmovies.com. I hit the site about once a week. I enjoy it alot. Thanks Matt. I hear people complain about speed, the site being down, etc. This site is provided free with no pop ups, adds or other BS. I sent $35 to Matt to buy a jump ticket and some beer, or to completely waste if he wants. If you visit the site, crack open you wallets and send the guy a few dollars. I have his paypal info if you want. This guy spends his own money for our entertainment. Show a little apperciation. Winsor, I agree with 99% of what you say. for me saving time by packing is out of the question. It's just my pack jobs can take 30 minutes or more easily. I'm just slow. Everything else is spot on. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

I had to jump mine. Pete made me unpack it again after I had packed under his supervision. I packed. I was going to unpack it when he said "When are you goin to jump it?" No signature without jumping it. Parachutes want to open. Just be careful and go slow. You'll get it. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

If your exits don't improve, you can always learn good excuses. My personal favorite ti I got caught in the wheel burble of the otter. I'm sure there are others. Practice, you'll be fine. I make an effort to have a nice stable exit on every dive. My instructors drilled into me that it is a very important skill to have. My exits are starting to improve. I used to SUCK! One thing that helped was getting 2 videos done. It's strange but, for me, when I actually saw myself do it, it was easier to change. I had a tendency to "swim" a little and move my legs. After the video, I became more aware of it. In the end, the only thing that helped was practice. It will come with time. Keep working at it. You'll get it.

If Bill says that he is willing, I will vote for him. He is very knowledgeable and seems slow to anger. He has my vote if he wants it. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

That's right 7/10. I'm still a little woozy from that helmet that hit me in the head while walking in the parking lot. Please stop by, have a beer and say hello. It would be nice to meet you and Daizey. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

IF it was 100% my fault and I had money, I would help financially as best I could. If I did not have $$$, I would try to help them out by running errands or taking them to doctors appointments, etc. I would never just "walk away" I said help as much as you are able. I stand by what I said 'If you cannot accept ALL the risks of skydiving, don't go to the DZ." If you hit a jumper, it is most likely a friend or someone you know. I personally could not and would not sue. It's just what I believe. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

I had a very similar thing happen to me 2 weeks ago. It was at the same DZ as this one; but, this is not common for the Ranch. It just seems like a coincidence. Here is my post and feelings about it. http://dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1113639;#1113639 As the jumper still under canopy, I have control and the ability to make adjustments. I did not do my job. I made a mistake. If I had hurt the other person, I would be devastated. That is my single greatest fear in this sport. If I hurt someone, I would do what I could to help them out. I would not expect to be sued. We all know it's dangerous out there. Mistakes and strange things happen. If I was the injured jumper, I would not sue. I am aware of the dangers out there and I accept them. The punishment should be relative to the incident. A one time mistake does not warrant the loss of license or USPA membership. Civil suit, probably would not win. The signed waiver and the jumper on the ground has the duty to be aware of other people landing. Pay expenses, who can afford that. Not to sound flippant; but, simple surgery can easily be $25k. I think that the real answer is to be decent and honest. Help as much as you are able. Bottom line, this is a dangerous sport. If you cannot acceppt ALL the risks associated with skydiving, don't go to the DZ. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

There was a post about someone linking to the sight and slowing it down. The sight is provide free here by a member at dropzone.com. He spends a lot of time and money for our pleasure. Even if it is slow, it's still better than anything else out there. I'd be happy to donate a few $$$ or a jump ticket to thank them for their work. So there are other thing to do on the weekend besides skydiving.
Brian425 replied to Brian425's topic in The Bonfire
It was nice to do something different. I'm not burnt out on skydiving; but, I did not realize how much time it takes up in my life. My riding buddies told me there will be a monthly ride, I figure I can give up one weekend a month to do other things. It was nice to be on the water relaxing. Eva likes going to the beach and relaxing. (The swoop pond does not count as the beach, I tried that). The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. -

Who knew? I rode my motorcycle with my friends Saturday morning, hit lunch together and then headed home. Eva hooked up the trailer with the jetski and we were in the water by 5:00, rode around until 7:00 then hung out in the bay to watch the sunset. 9:30, fired up the BBQ and out came the beer. I remeber 4:00 AM, but not much after. Sunday was relaxing with about 1.5 hours of beating on the ski and then some quality time in the hammock. Life is good simtimes. Tecumseh trippin all the way to the ranch. (4th)
Brian425 replied to weegegirl's topic in The Bonfire
You'll have a blast at the Ranch. There should be some fireworks up there on the 4th. You can camp at the Ranch or there are a few hotels near by. There are bathrooms and showers on the DZ. Tickets are 18.50 for non members. There are 3 super otters and lots and lots of loads. Sonic has the pro shop, nice guy and good prices. Cavu and Bensons are good for a few drinks and laughs. There are lots of places to eat and drink in New Paltz a few miles away. If you any specifics, send me a PM. I won't be up there on the 4th. I have some "relative work" that weekend. Have fun and enjoy!!! Brian The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. -
Constructive criticism from advanced skydivers.
Brian425 replied to Brian425's topic in Safety and Training
the jumper on the ground however was also adonished for not being "Heads UP" and getting out of the way. The jumper on the ground was heads up. He ducked down and moved to get out of the way. I was the guy was was not heads up enough. Anything bad that happened was 100% me. I just wanted to clear that up. I had no excuses. I was wrong. On the plus side, all the things that was drilled into me paid off. Once I had the toggle down, I just evened out the canopy and flared with what I had left. Thanks Linda for drilling that into my head. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
