So I can't do too much after my hand operation. So I took my nephew to the Boardwalk on the Jersey shore. We had a good time. We played some games, ate some ice cream and just hung out. So we are walking around and he sees one of the prizes is a skydiver with a nylon canopy. He tells me he wants to win it for me since I cannot jump right now. So $25 later, I own the little guy. My nephew was so happy. I have to admit, I was happy too. It was worth way more than $25 to me. Sometimes relative workis cool.

I have a great new hobby, post whoring, vicodin and red bull cocktails and calling all my friends. My doctor is cool. He specializes in sports medicine. He respects his patients desire to compete and play. He says its his job to help us heal while still enjoying life. Plus as he says, "why not experiment on the willing, we might learn something." It seems that his goal is to keep us safe and get us out and about as soon as possible. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

So I had the pins put in my hand today. Surgery went well. My Doctor gave me 50 Viodin to help me with the pain. I'm a little sleepy and feeling very nice right now. Hooray for modern medicine. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Personally, I buy beer. I have found that every time I bring my cooler full with Iced Tea, Gatorade and soda, it is greatly appreciated. I think the spirit of the rule is to share something with your fellow skydivers to help them share your first. I think that soda's a little BBQ or Pizza would be welcomed. Let's be honest, skydivers seem to like anything that is free. In my opinion, if you don't drink you don't have to buy beer. Buy what ever you like to share with your friends. Well, I got the pins in today. The doctor told me 3 weeks from now we can think about jumping. If it is healing well, he will work on making a smaller cast with more mobility for my wrist. (cast is up to the middle of my fore arm now). I'll follow my Doctor and our ST&A's advice. Oh well, I guess I can still come up and visit. I broke my pinky this weekend. My doctor does not know anything about skydiving. He said, I should not jump for 3 weeks after my surgery tomorrow. After that he said we can look at putting on a smaller cast that will allow mobility in my wrist. I know that the ability to hold the toggles, flare, turn, etc are minimums. Are there any inherent risks in jumping without the bone 100% healed? If the consensus is no, I'll wait the 4-6 weeks to heal. I just got my A and want to jump. I'll definitely make it up there at least once this summer. My friend lives about an hour from there. I've herad some nice things about them so I figure, go check out some new scenery an d meet some new people. Now I just have to wait for this finger to heal up. NO jumping. The cast is all the way up to the middle of my fore arm. I may be ablle to jump in 4 weeks if everything goes perfect. Oh well. I'll be up soon. You will always be a skydiver. You did not quit, you were forced out by circumstances beyond your control. Your health and future are more important than jumping. Stay on the board.
