Someone made a post not too long about the average time people stick with the sport and why they quit. They used the term "life expectancy" in their post meaning "time in sport", not actual life expectancy. I wonder if that's where this originates. Owned by Remi #?

A long time ago.... I wrote an email to the powers that be at the company I worked for explaining why I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to computers with Pentium Processors. We did a lot of engineering calculations. I explained that the Pentium was better I explained that the Pentium was faster I spell checked the email and failed to notice that it had no idea what a "Pentium" was and replaced the word with "Penis" I wish I was kidding. That was a hard (pun intended) day. Did you know that computers with penis processors could reduce the average time on a statistical calculation by up to 75%? Edit to add: And yeah, that time I blew up a $40,000 CNC machine was kind of embarassing too. Owned by Remi #?

My point was... MS has done nothing to prevent OEMs from providing drivers for older operating systems. They didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing DOS drivers when Windows 3.x was released, they didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing 3.x drivers when Windows 95 was released, they didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing Win95 drivers when Win98 was released, they didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing Win98 drivers when NT was released, they didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing NT drivers when 2000 was released, they didn't do anything to prevent OEMs from providing 2000 drivers when XP was released.... What makes you think that they will prevent OEMs from providing XP drivers now that Vista is released? Hell, go to Dell's website and look at the driver downloads for their new hardware. Some of it still supports MS-DOS. Owned by Remi #?

I'm an SE working for a Microsoft reseller and it pains me, but I agree. Vista is kind of like having a 4y/o kid questioning anything you do, every time you do it. This Apple ad is hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n4mdcXa8B0&mode=related&search= Owned by Remi #?

Why would they? They don't seem to have a problem with OEMs providing even older drivers for new hardware. Owned by Remi #?

Vista is great on a system that can handle its power hungry design. I find all the warnings and notifications really annoying when it's in recommneded security mode though. Microsoft allows most of it's products to be installed "one version back" also. You should be able to buy Vista on the laptop and then install and use XP if you don't like Vista. The downside to that is you'll need to have copies of all the tools and applications that come with the laptop before you install XP (assuming you wanted them) Owned by Remi #?

Thanks, I've done that. I'm really looking more for anyone's comparisons or experiences with multiple ways to sell. The average tickets are going for a little under face value right now. I don't know if that's because there are too many for sale, or if it's because they aren't worth much until the teams are decided. Just hoping for some advice. Thanks for the info given so far. Does anyone have experience selling tickets online? I have a couple of spares for the Women's FF and I've never tried to sell anything like this before. It's not clear to me if eBay or one of the dedicated ticket sales companies is a better option. I'm also not sure about whether I should wait until the actual FF teams are decided since that leaves very little time to sell them. I've even thought about classified ads in some of the top seeds newspapers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't have to ask if the Buckeyes hadn't bombed in the first round. You're making it more complicated than it needs to be. Go with whoever can give you the speed you want for the best price. Where I live, cable is faster than the available DSL at the same price so I use cable. In he last place I lived, only 15 miles from where I am now, the cable available at the same price as DSL was 1/5 the speed of the DSL. Find out what plans and prices are available Decide what speed you NEED if you can't afford to pay for the fastest option. See who offers that speed at the best price. If it's DSL that looks cheaper, make sure they are including the monthly cost of having the actual phone line. If you don't need a phone line in your new place then DSL would probably be a bad chioce unless it's really cheap. If you're going to have cable TV, find out if there's a bundled price with Internet. Watch out for plans that offer speeds "up to" some number. That means they aren't guaranteeing they can deliver. Owned by Remi #?

When you get to your destination, post your options. Take what you can with you. No loss if it doesn't work out, Owned by Remi #?

It's not always "high speed" that depends on the plan you get. No, broadband means the service you have is being multiplexed. Speed isn't a factor. No, that depends 100% on the providers. DSL can be much faster then cable if you have a POP nearby. Cable can be much faster if you don't have a lot of people sharing a feed. That would be Voice over Internet Protocol. It works with any ISP, not just cable. Owned by Remi #?

I was just watching a movie when I heard this loud, droning noise that kept getting louder and louder.... I finally had to go outside to see what was up. One of the Goodyear Blimps was smack dab over the top of my house. 500 feet tops All the neighbors were outside doing the same as me. Gaping up at the sky with big smiles all around. It's not uncommon to see them around here, but not this far west of Akron and never that low. Fun stuff. Owned by Remi #?

Sunpath Announces Requirements for Changing Closing Loops
labrys replied to DJL's topic in The Bonfire
Damn..I'm confused. Is it the closing loop that has the blinky light or is it the cypres? Owned by Remi #? -
I agree that it does sound like a scam and I hope the victim gets his money back, honestly. I have no delusions that my bank account info is "protected" but I'd sure prefer not to see it posted in a public forum. The OP didn't say anything about his guy being convicted of any crimes though, did he? How'd you enjoy having your account info posted here if you got into a dispute over a sale? Owned by Remi #?
