  1. Nope, not. Maybe you meant transexual or transgendered, which is not the same as homosexual. You're giving a classic example of why this shit pissed homosexuals off. You clearly agree that it's okay or funny for these moron mechanics to be violent to prove they are "real men" after they accidentaly kiss. I know at least one Navy fighter pilot who's really going to be annoyed at the suggestion that he's not a "real man". He's on his fourth tour and he's getting a little cranky. Owned by Remi #?
  2. Okay, Sherm. I'll bite. Are gay men "real men"? Owned by Remi #?
  3. In case you missed it when it was mentioned the first 5 times: There were several versions of the ad. Maybe you didn't see the one where they beat each other up to prove they were manly. Owned by Remi #?
  4. Alright, Bill. I get your point. Maybe it was a bad analogy. I've never known any of my skydiving friends to be beaten to a bloody pulp for jumping. I wish I could say the same about my gay friends who dared to stand a little too close together on the street. The ad didn't offend me. The fact that a candy company paid professional athletes to share their homophobic opinions with the public does. Anything that links violence and homosexuality offends me. Try being friendless on a dark street and having a gang of young men start hurling homophobic insults at you. All you can do it hope it stops at the insults and doesn't turn into something that's going to hurt or kill you. Having the athletes those little fuckers look up to paid to reinforce that attitude pisses me off. It's not an issue of thick skin. It can be an acute interest in surviving in peace. Owned by Remi #?
  5. Okay... how would you feel if the ad had been skydiving related and then they showed a bunch of interviews with the NFL players saying that they thought skydiving was "wrong" and "unnatural" and they wouldn't be caught dead doing it and they couldn't believe that the company had gone that far? Folks over here would be screaming at the tops of their lungs about how unfair it is to have public figures denouncing their precious sport . I guarantee it. I can just bet how fast the demands would start rolling in for USPA to petition for an apology. Owned by Remi #?
  6. It was pulled from the official website, along with the more objectionable versions of the ad. It was posted ealier that some of it is available on youtube. Look, I'm not a big fan of people blowing silly commercial messages out of proportion or throwing a fit because some candy bar ad hurts their feelings either, but I also don't think that it's in the best interests of a big company like Mars mocking anyone in their ads. It's childish, self destructive behavior. Owned by Remi #?
  7. The thing that pissed a lot of people off was the NFL player commentary on the web site. Did you see that? Owned by Remi #?
  8. I remember something like -20F about 15 years ago here..... tonight is going to hit about -16 and -25 with wind chill. I won't pick nits. It's fucking COLD. Owned by Remi #?
  9. That's good fun. One of my favorite weddings was for a couple who loved boxing. We were all waiting for the bride and groom to appear at the reception when the lights dimmed.... The music got loud.... And out of nowhere this deep voice comes over the loudspeaker in the hall... "ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?" And they danced in. Owned by Remi #?
  10. I think that if you're seeing it with an open mind and have a couple of brain cells to rub together it does mock homophobes. I'm sure I'll take shit for this but I don't think the average NASCAR viewer would have had that frame of mind. I think they probably would have related more to the NFL player comments which I do not think are posted on youtube (yet) Owned by Remi #?
  11. Wouldn't an RW group that big be pretty much taking up an entire load? And if not wouldn't the 1 or 2 remaining solo freefliers have more than enough time to give them plenty of time out the door? Owned by Remi #?
  12. Do you mean http://www.geocaching.com ? Been doing it for about 6 years. It's really, really fun to do, better when you can take kids along. They love the treasure hunt and prize exchange parts. I have a travel bug that's logged almost 25,000 miles Owned by Remi #?
  13. The one aired during the game wasn't too bad. At least one of the follow-up campaign ads they have on their website is blatently violent (see the "wrench" version of the ad). The response to "do something manly" in that one isn't as funny as rip out your own chest hair, it's "beat the fuck out of the other guy to prove you didn't mean it" The commentary by NFL players is very homophobic. Edit to add: I was just going to post a link to the follow-up ads and the NFL player's comments from the http://www.snickers.com wesite but it appears that they've pulled the video. Owned by Remi #?

    Gifts from EX

So you screwed up when you told your wife that the cup was a gift from an ex. Why even mention that part in the first place? She probably sees it as a challenge now when it could have been nothing if you hadn't told her. Your fault, bucko. Lose the cup. Owned by Remi #?
  15. I took my 13 year old niece and nephew to SVAZ last week and they had a blast...in no small part because the coach that was with them was GREAT with kids. Owned by Remi #?
  16. Okay... I'll ante up. When I made my first tandem (I was the idiot whuffo in question then) I made it all the way through signing the waiver, watching a video about what the waiver meant... taking instruction about basic safety, meeting my TM and walking out to the plane... Before it registered with me that making a skydive involved an AIRPLANE RIDE. I was so pumped about the jump it didn't occur to me. Bring the laughs. I deserve(d) it. Owned by Remi #?

  22. Someone else posted something similar in a thread a while back only it was a TM who's student had asked the same question. His answer was, to paraphrase: "Walk towrds the light. Don't follow me, I'll be going the other direction" Owned by Remi #?

  24. If you know of a firmware that will run on a WRT54G above version 4, which is pretty much all you can get anywhere, please point me in the right direction. The last time I looked Sveasoft and DD-WRT didn't support versions 5 or 6. Owned by Remi #?
