Gravity would decrease, wouldn't it? Or it's effects would be directed at you at equal angles anyway, cancelling it out. Owned by Remi #?

If the hole wasn't dead center, you'd fall in and eventually land on one side of the tunnel. If the whole was dead center, you'd get suspended in the middle like Billy says. It would have to be one HELL of a dead center hole, though. Owned by Remi #?

No, not arguing the dangers or pain involved with jumping with a cold at all. I agreed a number of times that the risk of rupturing an eardrum is real. I don't understand the "blown sinus" approach and think it's a little silly to imply that you can damage your skull. Owned by Remi #?

"hematoma formation" That's a bruise, right? While that sounds painful, I still think the risk of a ruptured eardrum is much more serious. The pressure difference necessary to result in a skull fracture must be HUGE compared to eardrum damage. I found this on Skydive Radio: http://www.skydiveradio.com/shows.htm Show 54. AN EENT explains that sinus pain from jumping while congested is real. The risk of rupturing an eardum is real. Sinus damage is not. Edit to make clicky Owned by Remi #?

A bunch of non medical sites like this one that use the words "blown sinus" don't mean anything. What's the medical definition? Owned by Remi #?

Sorry, but that sounds very "urban legend" A ruptured eardrum, yes. There's medical precident and logic behing that. A "blown sinus"? What does that even mean? Some medical evidence that this can happen, please. Sinuses are cavities in the skull. Are you saying that people suffer skull fractures from jumping with a cold? I'm highly skeptical. I haven't been around long, but I haven't heard of many people cutting away just because one toggle was unstowed. I've seen several posts here about cutting away when one toggle wouldn't unstow, though. Having one toggle unstowed and the other stuck is something most new jumpers who are uncomfortable or inexperienced with landing on rear risers might justifiably cut away. It's not just HP canopies that can be a problem when it really is just a case of one toggle being unstowed, either. My first chop was a sabre2 loaded at about 1:1 that managed to spin me on my back with one toggle loose on opening. Owned by Remi #?

That's my opinion too. I don't expect my full face helmet to be much use in a high speed impact. I do look at all the gouges and scrapes on my Z1 and am happy it was the helmet that absorbed them and not my head. Owned by Remi #?

My thoughts are that you'd have to compare the injury / fatality rate under slow mals to the rate of cutaways on slow mals to determine if the trend (if it is a trend) is good or bad. Owned by Remi #?

I PM'd Mr. Booth and asked him that question. His reply was that it was possible, but that it wasn't "as clean" as the factory original. He said they were working on making it better. Owned by Remi #?

Snickers Super Bowl Ad... Anti-Gay or Anti-Homophobe?
labrys replied to NWFlyer's topic in Speakers Corner
I haven't been mugged in Times Square. I have been left on the side of the road by an EMS crew after an automobile accident (with a few inches of open head wound) because they saw "gay" stickers on my car. It was the height of the AIDS scare. Didn't matter to them that I was in the lowest risk group on the planet. Your muggers targeted people at random. Owned by Remi #? -
Snickers Super Bowl Ad... Anti-Gay or Anti-Homophobe?
labrys replied to NWFlyer's topic in Speakers Corner
It advocates that being violent equals being manly and that being violent proves that you are not gay. it implies that being gay makes one "unmanly" Big difference, same negative message. It's easy to understand why you don't get it. You've never had to deal with it. Owned by Remi #?
