  1. No shit ! Whats the technique without it 'dragging' the base sideways.......(other than ....just transition quick)
  2. Lol......I so wanted to post the same......but not being a BASE jumper ......Its neither polite or respectful to the BASE community or Felix But seeing as your grandmother brought it up.....well......
  3. Boy oh boy I want one of those HC1's ......... In my eyes ...you can never have enough image quality .....
  4. Some DZ's in the UK as well..... Interestingly.......anybody care to share the last time they heard of a Cam Helmet related malfunction/incident... I know there have been some big ones in the past..... BSBD But in recent times...?
  5. ahhhh..... Thanks........might give it a go when I get a nice fat stable base

    Phantom

    Awesome looking suit......
  7. Or if you are REALLY low in swoop mode and facing the ground..... "thats it man, its game over.......its game over !"
  8. PAL or NTSC ......perhaps have a think about where you will be spending most of your jump time over the next coupl'o years and then choose PAL or NTSC based on that. There is conversion software out there (PAL To NTSC and vice versa and a workaround on Adobe After Effects....but it can all be a little fiddly. You can also get the formats converted profesionally .....lots of companies will do that for you.....but can be a bit pricey In terms of model......if money is not an object....go crazy ....both models you mention are bigger CCD cams than the 'usual ' sony.....I have heard of more issues on the 1000 recently compared to the 350....but they both work ! If cash is an issue.......perhaps think of another Sony a bit further down the range. Depending on your Cam helmet you are likely gonna have a few riser strikes when jumping for the first times with the cam.....nothing too big an issue but how you gonna feel if your expensive cam gets trashed or knoked off ? It also took me a little time to get used to wearing the cam helmet I have and in the process had a few bangs against the aircraft roof/walls because of the extra 'bulk' now on the side or top of the helmet.... Again depending on your helmet choice ......you might damage that camera.
  9. Easy.....make sure you and your stuff is freefly friendly and you have had a full freefly safety brief then go get tips and advice..... All can be accomplished by asking a suitably experienced Freeflyer on your DZ. But really you'll get along a whole lot better......and progress quicker by getting at least some coached jumps ( say every 1 in 5 jumps you do..)

    Video from ZHills

Couldnt get it to D/L .......
  11. still figuring out hows thats done....any ideas ? Flown off the exit ??? It must be !!
  12. so how did you do it? (hanger getting feet in the chest straps)
  13. These guys have some good tutorials for Prem.Pro. 'tips and tricks'.... They all work and and also will give you some inspiration for creating your 'own' effects on Prem Pro http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/
  14. Erm....and what aboutbthe Phantom as a 'learning' suit off your first few flights on something .... Whaddya think??
  15. Perhaps you should start again at the start of the thread.....even with the title of the post. And what you have here are at least two testimonials from people with Dell systems using them for the intended purpose stated in the original post.... saying they are fine, no problems......contrary to your 'multi billion' dollar installations yada yada yada....advice. one........ I doubt that the original poster would be buying from the same supply/support chain as your 'mission critical, multi billion.....yada yada ' ......and the systems/support/hardware are probably very different to a non corporate buyer from Dell (personal sale). And here you have two people who have bought personal systems from Dell and are very happy with them for video editing. Get it?
  16. Interesting that you refuse to accept testimonies from at least two people that their Dell systems are reliable and suitable for their needs. Yes my Dell system is proven reliable , is what I need to do the work I do and came in at a great price..... Just thought I'd spell that out for ya...... Perhaps I was just lucky and managed to get a Dell system that works...... (Me along with the many millions worldwide ...) And I also got a three year 24hr return service contract thrown in when I bought the system......which I had to use just once to have an upgrade done.......guess what....They picked it up on a Tuesday and it was back with me 24hrs later.... No Dell complaints coming from me......
  17. Fair enough.......but if a UK rigger 'didnt know' and did it......who is going to know? or is that another flightline question to ask.... I'd rather read about 'why' its not allowed as opposed to get wrangled in the legality of CAA vs FAA regs. Anybody care to share?
  18. Expensive tool....for that job Cheaper to ask your 'buddy' behind you if the light is on, if you at all doubt your manual dexterity. And the Camera is easily switched off via the cameye using the method already posted..... Obviously not.....
  19. Interesting...... I bought a high end Dell machine 3.5 years ago where I was aloowed to choose the specification....for almost $700 less than if I had sourced the hardware/software myself and built my own machine. I have made hardly any upgrades in this time and its just as reliable and fast as it was on day one.......and my machine gets very regular editing/rendering 'abuse' My Dell PC has been the most stable reliable and powerful PC I have owned......I have no complaints at all. Cant comment on Customer service/repair....cuase I have not had to use it yet !
  20. I heard that Dave was away at the moment......the other site administrator is in Thailand at the moment. I'm sure someone else is filling in .....just will take a little more time.
  21. I just tuned into this thread..... FF2 is "shit" ? Most recreational UK people I see wearing new Cam helmets these days are weraing an FF2. I guess they must all be wrong ehh? Not defending it because I wear one......defending it because it is a very good cam helmet... Form and function...... Not versatile you say ? You can fit just about any PC range of camcorder inside it ( you just need to change/adjust the foam insert) You can adjust the position of the L bracket inside the helmet without drilling new holes everywhere You can top mount a stillsor second video on the flat top..... What are you trying to say here? I dont understand....we DONT do a hell of a lot of jumping 'day in and day out' in the UK because of the weather... Have you really jumped with one...??
