Just remember that when learning FF there is often alot of drastic speed changes and horizontal movement.......yes you SHOULDNT do those things but when learning its a fact of life that you need space to be able to explore whats happening when you change your body position......personally I think this exploration is alot more dramatic (in terms of of movement) when FF compared to being on your belly. The tunnel is obviously alot more restrictive in this way and does not give you the room to 'explore'

Save yourself alot of grief and money.....go spend a little time in the tunnel ( Looks like Paris is your closest at the moment) I had similar issues to you a while back...I just fell fast no matter what I did. 5mins in the tunnel with a coach and I was seeing results.... Its not just technique....suit choice is as important as body position for us big guys.... As for position...its not all about the dearch.... you need to put input into different parts of your body to effect an overall slow fall.....thighs inparticular can give you alot of drag if positioned ....as can booties if you have them. I'm not nearly experienced enough to explain in more detail other than to say really....'5' mins in a tunnel with a coach should see you making serious improvement....... I went from having big fall rate problems to be comfortably filming 4 Way teams (that fell relatively slow) without camera wings and not struggling to stay above them at all.......I did that within what I estimate of 5-15mins tunnel time working on fall rate with a coach

Its sunday.....what happened...... Or did it all just blow away in the wind................... ? -
I tried a few jumps with my 750i and it didnt stand up to it so well........focus problems and exposure issues. It didnt last very long in a skydive enviroment and the focus controls/recording head suffered as a result of the 'abuse'. Recommendation: 1) Get another camera....Sony 2) Helmets.... An 'open' mount L bracket Side mount (take your pick) will fit it .....or top mount it on a flat top helmet (best solution based on the fact its a little long and a relatively heavy) Not sure that many manufacturers will make a 'box' for this camera as a side mount I just dont think this is a 'good' camera to take to the skies.......sell it and put the bucks towards a Sony PC /HD camera I could be wrong...but this is my view based on my experiences This post shows you a practical setup for a similar cam. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1105538;search_string=Canon;#1105538

I read on another site, a few months back , that the Pilot was tanked up and pulled from the aircraft with minimal injuries where subsequently his blood alcohol level was assessed....... dunno if that plane was going up or down....looked like a landing ( lots of speed)

Not BASE related.....but a good observation on life....

Bacon.........hmmmmmmm Doesnt matter how much.......its never a crime I mean a pig does smell better dead than alive.... Bacon.......hmmmmmmm (my first trip to the US every fast food place I went to always offered me 'extra bacon' with everything......I have never recovered from the thinking that bacon does indeed go with just about everything........)

I have not seen many UK riggers post on this site.......they may just be lurking. I suggest you visit the following site and check out the nearest DZ to you if you want to get your reserve repacked ASAP http://www.bpa.org.uk/dropzone/dzone.htm (Sibson , Langar, Chatteris , Hinton , Old Buckingham seem to be your neraest DZ's)

Obviously you dont..... Please reference your posts in this thread as an example .....

New people ask questions as they embark on new disciplines..... Whilst a targeted search is a good start......there is NOTHING wrong about asking the same questions again to get the most up to date answers /responses you can get... This whole....flog a dead horse....do we really need.....yadda yadda yadda is just impolite and unnecessary. If the poster cant do a search properly, for whatever reason .....should they be denied that information? Answer the question or choose not to answer it.....the decision is yours and nobody is twisting your arm to do that....but dont have a go at someone for asking.

I know.......but Satish is working on it. Although I'm not sure what improvement having the Prem.Pro Plug in for video is going to make to the output in comparison to just using the standalone program , morphing 2 frames and importing back to Prem Pro. Your vid shows that method works well. Any Premiere 6 users out there using this plug in?

The poster is asking for YOUR reasons why you would not jump one.....your post didnt exactly say anything other than you or your cam flying mates dont jump an RSL....not the reason WHY YOU dont jump one.... He's only askin'
-
Is that a valid comment in thsi thread? A functioning RSL should never be relied on as the sole way to deploy the reserve.....EP's should be fully completed regardless. Why wouldnt you recommend having an RSL with a Camera setup? I was taught the same......Cam helmets meant you should have no RSL /disconnect your RSL in case of your camera helmet being snagged and hindering a clean cutaway of your main and risking having the reserve fired into the still connected (via your helmet ) main. A thread a while ago....suggested that if you were being suspended under your main by your head/cam helmet ....somethings going to give....either your neck or the weakest part of the helmet system. This then suggested that you should recognise the snag on your helmet and clear it/ cut the helmet away away prior to cutting away the main... Works both ways I guess.....if you are confident you can do the above (clear the helmet snag prior to chopping the main).....then an RSL is no problem. If you are not confident, perhaps an RSL is a bad choice... Either way it seems it is important to be able to cut away that helmet as easily as possible.

Just quick question. OK two jumpers... Jumper A is 6ft tall weighing 200Lbs Jumper B is 5ft tall weighing 130lbs. Both jumping the same type of suit, and consider them as both having similar experience. Who would get better performance....? The taller guy although heavier must surely have more material (longer arm span therefore larger upper wing) and longer legs when opened ( therefore larger lower wing area) The smaller guy would have a reduced wing area but less weight......therefore would take less effort on the wing for the same amount of wing.... So how would they compare in performance in this scenario ??

Felix Baumgartner chats with press before fleeing police

Not at all, if thats what you read through my post.........but Granny does sum it up best. For someone to breach the "unwritten rules" in such a public way......they should at least be doing it right ( whatever right may be other than being able to land without injury) How many non jumping people do you think watched the event or video and thought that although BASE itself is a 'crazy' thing to do.....you must be all 'crazy loons with no control over what you are doing' if this is how the best in the world jump off a building. Wouldnt you rather the world saw a public BASE jump that made non jumping people think....."wow that guy was totally in control of everything he was doing from exit to landing........these guys have some serious skills.......perhaps we should let them jump off buildings during the day more often, I mean they know exactly what they are doing " -
Good video....nice morphing transitions. I'm experimenting with the software myself but still having a few bugs with it in Prem Pro 1.5....standalone prog and importing to Premiere Pro 1.5 is the workaround. Looks like perhaps you did it the same way.....what version of PP are you using? Refreshing vid to see .....and very well edited.
