  1. Nothing like a middle aged woman in a nightgown walking towards you to make you fear for your life.
  2. Wikipedia was launched after the dot-com bubble burst. You know, I was just going to gloss over that one beginning with the dot-com rage being more than a few years ago... Yup. I actually had a reply typed out about it being nearly 2 decades ago but then figured what's the point - Ron's belief system allows him to make the most tenuous logical connections and nothing I'd say would change that.

How do we make progress from here? Trump says 'in '18 we need to go out and get more republicans elected...' http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-40650786/trump-s-three-takeaways-from-failed-bill So a majority in both houses isn't enough for him to get legislation passed. He sees his way forward as getting a Trump-friendly majority in the sitting senators and congressmen while maintaining an overall majority as the best way to get stuff done. Well no shit, sherlock. Not developing legislation that can get approval from the Republicans in general. Not working with the democrats to create a moderate position. Trump's solution is just loading the game enough that exactly what he wants gets passed. Yet more evidence that this guy is a spoiled child who is used to just getting his own way. What a fantastic trait in a president.
  4. It has to be on audio, at least?
  5. First, don't try to learn how to do your first jump here. This is important. You'll be taught everything you need to know by your instructors on the day. Just listen to them and try to enjoy it. If you try to teach yourself beforehand you'll either overwhelm yourself or teach yourself bad or inappropriate habits.

The hilarious bit is Trump's response. We couldn't come up with a plan that actually works, so fuck it - Just cancel what we've got without any plan in place at all... we'll probably come up with something next time. Solid thinking from the Pres.
  7. Is it an all or nothing deal? Would you still be able to get the same printing price for the half of the membership who decided they wanted to keep the magazine even if the other half opted out?
  8. US police shoot Australian Woman while responding to her 911 call: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-40627847 What's the point of having them if they can just be turned off?
  9. Particularly given how poor we seem to be at it sometimes...
  10. 40% is not bad?! Wtf is he smoking? How is that not bad? But, his devote followers won't care. They hear their dear leader say "It's not bad. Fake news, fake numbers" and they somehow agree and keep on with their simple lives. Living in America right now has me so confused. so "It's a really inaccurate poll! But just in case it isn't, the data it's showing is pretty good!" You can't have it both ways - either refute the data as useless, or use it to bolster your position. You don't get to say 'it's crap unless it makes me look good'. And 36% is 'almost' 40% in only the most general possible rounding terms. 'Almost' 35% would be much more accurate.
  11. The approval ratings for Truman in that graph are amazing! I wish I'd lived through a presidency where almost everybody agreed that the president was doing a great job. What did people argue about??

John Oliver on the Late show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSuD7gMQ0x4 Colbert: I'm used to a world where we're divided on things like abortion, taxes or government controlled healthcare Oliver: right! Polarizing issues. Colbert: Have we come to a nation where colluding with a hostile foreign power to manipulate our election is a 'left vs right' thing? Is that it? Is that where we are?? Oliver: I don't know, but the very fact that you just said that sentence out loud shows that we are turbo-fucked!
  13. I don't think the USPA should become involved in tunnel regulation. But I do think that people using the semantics of what the organization is called is a stupid point in the argument - there are so many better ones. Let me as you a question; When you describe what you do for a sport to other people, what do you call it? I bet you $100 99% of people say they do 'skydiving' not 'parachuting'. You could make the argument that 'parachutists' include BASE, Paragliders and Speed Flyers. I don't think that flying in a tunnel is skydiving. But then I don' think that going on a Tandem ride is skydiving either, so I'll upset both groups with my opinion on that.
  14. What's your point in posting that as a reply? I suggest you answer very carefully because you are on thin fucking ice.
  15. This is the dumbest reason ever. Change the USPA name to US Skydiving Association. That solves that non-issue and is more representative of, you know, skydiving.

To shortcut both rush and Trump himself: "Why didn't OBAMA do something about this? SETUP! #whichhunt"

Mr Wray looks decidedly ill at ease in all of that interview and seems to be being (to use a rush-ism) led around by the nose by Senator Graham. I don't know if it's the seeming unpreparedness of Mr Wray or the extremely leading way the senator is facilitating the interview, but something about the whole thing makes me quite uncomfortable.
  18. I've been meaning to put this up here for ages. I built this just before Christmas and am sketching out plans for a new electric and semi-acoustic. I've got a detailed build thread over here if anyone's interested in it: https://crimsonguitars.com/forum/work-in-progress-or-completed-projects/completed-gibson-firebird-throughneck/
  19. We are here to serve. Jerry Baumchen PS) Now, start teaching that young daughter about this stuff; she might just make a bundle & really take care of you in your old age. Jerry, you have no idea. This new generation growing up in a world where STEM is pushed hard to young ladies is something to see. Her capacity to look at things and figure out how to take them apart and put them back together is astounding. Computers are a breeze, programming is boring.. She says she wans to be a mechanical engineer. I told her "You can do what you want as long as I never see you with wrenches around my Harley." "Errrr dad I managed to get it apart but I am having trouble putting it back together....." I destroyed a vintage valve amplifier when I was growing up. I think those were the EXACT words I said. Dad's were a little harsher.
  20. He's very, very good at it. He's a great salesman.
  21. It's Trumpism 101. When you're attacked, attack back. If you can't do that then shift the blame or simply deny everything calling it a conspiracy. If it's not Clinton's fault than it's definitely Obama's. Or the other Clinton's. And if it's not theirs then it's the Democrats, or the liberals, or the Mexicans. FUCK those Mexicans for not getting the healthcare bill passed.

Ah, no, they don't. Please explain why rather than just using emotes and throw-out sentences. I'll help you. I actually don't think that they implicate POTUS at the moment. Maybe later... But I do think there seems to be enough evidence to begin the prosecution of everyone else who was at that meeting.
