I've talked to a number of military and police friends since the attack about this and they'v all said the same thing. If they were there on a typical night out and legally carrying a handgun as is possible in the US, but the attackers were armed as well then the incident might possibly have been over sooner, but there would absolutely have been a lot more casualties. I think that's a pretty fair summary from guys who are trained to use guns in response to stressful situations.

ISIS claims bombing at Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England

and his latest tweet: You're right, Trump. 'EVERYBODY PANIC!!' is the message a real leader would give. Heaven forbid that politicians try and keep people calm during an emergency. Our president, ladies and gentlemen... using a terrorist attack on an ally to promote his own agendas. Class. -

*sigh Imagine how much worse it would have been if the 3 men in the van had jumped out armed with automatic weapons instead of knives. The carnage would have been 100 times worse. The lack of availability of weapons limits the harm that can be done in a short space of time... -
I understand you. And this is standard for those who can not tolerate any opposition. You are projecting....... Have you ever actually read any of my posts? I'm one of the most moderate people on these boards. I criticize both left and right wing politicians because I don't believe in that type of classification. Even that is beyond you. 'You are projecting' is yet another of your meaningless soundbites. I'll add it to my rush-bot program.

It's becoming clear that you don't understand what the word hypocrite means. Just as you didn't understand what 'jump the shark' means, or whatever your next buzzword is going to be. That is your official modus operandi. You get that, right? 90% of your posts are EXACTLY that. What you've just done, that's hypocrisy. Anything presented by what you see as left wing news you automatically respond to with 'Lol!' 'Fake News'!' or some other such, while just cutting and pasting reports from your preferred right wing sources. You are the poster child for not thinking or discussing what is being presented to you. As you say, you 'just pitch shit back', and I have no interest in that kind of non-discussion.

I don't necessarily disagree with Trumps statement. IF the accords are grossly unfair (i'm not expert enough to make that determination) then I think it's right and proper to renegotiate our involvement in them. But that's a long, long way from denying climate change is happening or just undoing everything. What we need to see is him actually pull the separate sides together to create a better outcome - (that's leadership, Rush, not just making unilateral decisions), but I suspect compromise simply isn't in his nature.

I don't get it. You're still crowing about the fact that Hillary lost like it's a big thing. It's literally last years news at this point. Let me break this down for you - we don't care. I'm more concerned with living in the world of this moment and the future. You see, Rush, what normal people do isn't to keep defending their chosen horse past the point of logical insanity. A normal, functioning human being has the ability hold a moderate position and both praise and critique another individual, particularly based on historical evidence. I don't think you'll find anyone in here who thought that Hillary was a great candidate. In fact I think you'll find most people didn't particularly like her as a choice, but they though it was a better one than Trump. Because we're normal, well adjusted people we can say 'man, Hillary SUCKED as a candidate' while still supporting her at the time. If CNN chooses to make fun of the Russian hacking allegations then that's their business - I'm still going to wait for the results of the official investigations before I form an opinion. You seem to live in a strange, overly simplistic world. That CNN (who you identify regularly as an enemy) has something bad to say about Hillary immediately makes you post their links and crow about their position. But if they say something bad about Trump then you instantly dismiss their report as fake and biased. Once again, your inconsistency due to your extreme bias makes it easy to dismiss anything you write.

Happens with expensive wines, too.

And you will only get half as drunk if you drank every time Obama said mum God you all have short memories'!!! Ah, the good old 'Obama did it first' argument. That's a novel one... In point of fact I never watched a single speech Obama gave live, so Trump's got that one going for him. I absolutely would have said the same thing if Obama had done it while I was waiting.

You have to remember, this is a guy whose chosen method of communication is twitter. Whatever he says / tweets needs to be catchy and less than 128 characters and that rolls over into how he thinks. Making sense is of secondary covfefe.

That just comes across as being a whiny little bitch. The answer to the president not taking your advice isn't to quit in a huff. You keep trying and while you might not make a big difference you might make some... THAT is what a leader does.

New game for future Trump speeches. Take a drink every time he says 'Believe me,...'
-
It's hilarious how obvious the difference between the style of Trump's speech writers and his ad-libbing is.
-
The lateness in actually giving the rose-garden speech is another tiresome and predictable control-exercise.

Out is the obvious answer. An out gives Trump: 1) Center stage for posturing and grandstanding 2) The ability to say 'fuck you, you can't tell me what I should be doing' to the international community 3) An easy win on fulfilling one of his campaign promises which he can point to in the weeks to come 4) And doesn't require any understanding of the science or a reliance on people who understand more than he does all of which appeal to his vanity. Staying in on the other hand doesn't really give him anything. He slightly mollifies a bunch of people who don't like him and aren't going to vote for him anyway, while simultaneously irritating the supporters he does have. Keeping the status quo is a far less sexy statement than bucking the trend. So we'll be out because it satisfies Trump's ego and need for image much more than any real facts, discussion or thought might do. Get used to that - it's the way policy will be made for the next few years.

I actually didn't write that post. For fun I was working on a small script that would reply to any random post of Bill's in this forum with a selection of Rush-isms. It shouldn't have posted anything just yet. Obviously I've got some tweaking to do.

There need to be consequences for actions. Apology or not.
-
LOL! Fake news! Obama did it first. He's still better than Clinton. You're being led around by your nose!

Trump supporters don't care about JOBS. They care about car-manufacturing jobs. Coal-mining jobs. Or wall-building jobs. That's about it. Every other job is probably communist, liberal or both.

Absolutely. A win scenario for Russia isn't simply having a pro-Russian president in place - that was always the least likely scenario, to be honest. Destroying faith in the electoral system, widespread unrest and disapproval of the government throughout the country, or simply watching the US economy and international relations tank as a result of ongoing buffoonery would all count as wins for them.

Call it a 'press briefing'? 'Press bollocking'? -
Do you think that Russian interference should only be investigated or prosecuted if it actually had an effect? Hypothetically, how would that conversation go? "OK, we know you colluded with the Russian government to influence the election but since you would have won anyway we'll just let it go." ?

Actually the quotes we got factored in increases in energy costs over the years (because it makes their proposals look better), so I used the same figures for my calculations. Current energy cost is about $80 - $100 per month. In 12 years I had it as high as $150, hence the $1200 yearly average. I like the idea of solar and want to support renewable energy. It just doesn't make financial sense to own a system on a residential place in California unless you have really high electricity bills for some reason. I couldn't make the maths work no matter how hard I tried. Commercially or Nationally I think is another thing altogether.

Yup. But we can only form opinions based on the current news - if that news changes then my opinions on it will change as well. -

Yes. Because he's stupid and easily manipulated doesn't make the message wrong. That he's made mistakes, big ones, doesn't mean it's OK for everyone else to do it deliberately.
