Trump's twitter account. Kushner's room service call last night. Sorry - I thought we were just listing random conversations... Come on - you're asserting that somewhere in Comey's congressional testimony he's provided evidence that would justify further investigations into Hillary Clinton, despite him saying otherwise last year. All I'm asking is that you provide that data - with the context, please. What is driving you to this conclusion that a new investigation would somehow turn up something new that the dozen others haven't? Bill has provided evidence of Comey stating on the record that "we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July" - that being that there was no crime committed. Do you not accept that?

Don't forget between the 6th and 12th largest economy in the entire world... It outperforms most countries. Not bad for a hippie land full of liberal commies. -
Sorry this statement is a lie. Please provide evidence of what they found to back up your position.

advices for first static-line jump & injured back ?
yoink replied to drago76's topic in Safety and Training
Not even a little. If you choose not to take advice it doesn't alter my life in even the smallest amount. Your the one who's been displaying ignorance and arrogance. I'm done. I hope you have a successful skydiving career. But if not, well, that isn't going to affect me either. -

and you can tell who those are, of course. Based on your extensive knowledge and experience. -
USPA wants to increase your dues

Spoken like someone who is stuck in the 1950s. I run a consultancy business and have web meetings with groups of people around the country and world multiple times a day. If we had to travel to every one our costs and time would be out of control. You know this isn't anything new, right? Hell, you can even talk to your doctor, get diagnosed and have a prescription written over a web cam now. Some things are best done in person. Some things don't need to be. Wheat is effectively a board meeting for a company is one of those things. It happens in every multinational company in the world, for example. -

I'm sure you're right. I've only been doing this a decade so what do I know? I'm certain your old-time skydiver was probably just making stuff up and doesn't know as much as you. Make sure you keep correcting your instructors, just in case they're all fools. I'm sure they don't read as much as you, so you can't expect them to know the right things to do. Are you going to continue jumping? I only ask because we might want to play a game of bingo. -
So what do you think the parties would actually DO, if anything, if Trump did start pardoning everyone including himself. I'd hope that even the Republicans would grow a backbone at that point and point out how fucked up that would be.

He was right, you were wrong. It's that simple. He knows a load more than you, I guarantee it. Take responsibility for your own fuck up. I've seen a lot of skygods over my time in the sport, but a student with zero jumps arguing with an instructor on how to fly a parachute is a new one for me. Oh, you should have done a PLF when you landed hard, by the way... -
You have to understand that just because the idiot in chief tweets something doesn't mean that he actually knows anything about it. I see it more of a ' I want it to work like this...'

If he actually tries to use the power and nothing stops him then I'll revise my opinion. Until then I'm going to stick with 'not yet'.

Did I miss a return of gregpso? He always had his own particular brand of lunacy.

Nah. Certainly not yet at least.

Why do meetings have to take place in person? Save the cash on travel expenses and buy each director a laptop and webcam and have the board meetings through an online conferencing service. You could have closed sessions if you need to and open ones that the membership could remotely attend. I'd listen in. -

That's the problem - you have no idea what is useful advice because you have zero experience. You came here asking for advice: You got it from experienced skydivers. Don't try and lean skydiving from the internet. Don't try to teach yourself from articles not aimed at students. You're probably not fit enough to make a solo skydive safely at the moment - look into doing a tandem or physiotherapy first. You're sounding remarkably like a DGIT to me. -
Please. Please go ahead and explain why you think that repealing the ACA will NOT result in millions losing healthcare coverage, despite every bipartisan report saying it will. I'm really curious what data you're looking at.

I'm afraid I agree with Divalent. If the requirement to do multiple PLFs is likely to ruin your spine then I don't think you are fit enough to make a solo skydive. Maybe look into doing a tandem, but make sure you tell the dropzone about your injury. That way they can be cautious on your jump. -

*sigh And this is what happens when you try to learn skydiving over the internet. No. It's not necessarily better to flare late than to flare early. You're teaching yourself the wrong things and are INCREASING the risk of getting hurt. -

I think you're onto something regarding who reads the magazine. Maybe the USPA should develop a one-off special issue that gets sent to jumpers once they get their A license, kind of like a 'Welcome to Skydiving!' thing. It can be specifically tailored to them with articles on gear selection, what to do after AFF, what boogies are and how to prepare for them, how to travel for skydiving, common mistakes to avoid - stuff like that. You'd only need to update the articles very occasionally and you could do one-off print runs for the year based on the estimated number of new jumpers you expect. Then make the general skydive mag available online and save all of those printing and mailing costs. -

While these all sound like simple questions to a beginner they actually require quite complex discussions to answer properly, and these can be difficult to communicate well over a forum - even to experienced jumpers. When you add to that the fact that English isn't your first language the risk of miscommunication is just too high for people to give you the detailed information you're looking for - it'll just make your training MORE difficult, not less. Rob's suggestion of breaking the training and the actual jump up is a good one. It's how I learnt.
