  1. Yes. You can't really prove that God doesn't exist... You can prove that the earth isn't flat. Edit: Fuck. Everyone beat me to it.
  2. And how many more flag draped coffins will come back from that lost cause? So what would you do if you were him? I honestly don't think there's a good answer to this one. More troops and longer occupation was pretty much inevitable I think - the only ridiculousness of it was how anti-troops and anti-involvement Trump was before he was president... the man had an opinion on everything; usually an uninformed one.
  3. But that's an instant alarm to any private sailor, let alone a navy trained seaman. Being able to see red and green without any aspect change means only one thing - Move and make yourself known any way you can.
  4. From my point of view the Progressive Liberals want to enslave the population to benefit the elites. You do understand that every system will do this? The only thing that differs is who the 'elites' are. Or are you OK with enslaving everyone to benefit your particular group? Sounds to me like you're after a system where everyone is equally responsible and has equal wealth. There are no 'elites' who are more equal than others in the system... But I thought you hated Communism?
  5. That is what the Progressive Liberal Democrats are seeking. The want us to work at government regulated business, pay most of our wages in taxes, get high in our free time and fornicate and trust the government to care for us. I am a slave to Christ Jesus and I am treated really, really well. Thanks for asking. What? Ron - do you not understand what slavery is? I get it. You don't like liberals and you have faith in Jesus - but if you honestly think that your life under liberals is the equivalent to black slavery in the 1700s then you're certifiably insane. I'm so blown away by your cowardly response that I honestly don't know what to say. To try and equate slavery to something else isn't only dishonest - it's disgusting.
  6. I used to do a lot of hop n pops at Perris and regularly got compliments on my exits from 4 way teams who were in the door going after me. They'd say 'loads of canopy pilots exit and then flail around until they're pulled upright by the deployment. How come yours looks so smooth?' My answer was always the same: 'Static line training...' Deep breath, look up, smile.
  7. Ron, you are extra "full of shit" today. That is well documented at Liberty Hall. Let me ask you a question, Ron. If you were my slave, answerable to my every single whim with no repercussions for me, and no rights of your own, would you be OK with that - even if I treated you really well?
  8. Why do they all turn up to an urban rally wearing woodland camo? I thought only little girls played dress-up. You're Nazis. You don't need to dress like a fuckhead to get the message across any more. The fact that you're attending a white supremacist meeting does it all for you...
  9. Think about you're describing... you're hanging from the wing strut of an aircraft a mile above the ground. It's normal to be a bit tense! Just listen to your instructors - they'll tell you if there's anything about your form you need to change. Trust them to help you through this, but believe me, it's absolutely normal. It's counter intuitive when you start, but one of the big secrets to learning to skydive is being able to relax, that and arching well. Seriously. There is no possibility of skydiving well if you're all tense. Give it your best arch (really important), take a deep breath in, let it out, look up at the plane and SMILE. (The act of smiling actually changes the neurochemistry in your brain, reducing stress.) It'll come.

    2017 Eclipse

For me personally, just because it's rare doesn't make it that special. The physics of orbital mechanics guarantees it happens, and will continue to happen until the sun burns out, whereas a snowflake - that's completely unique in all of history, for example. Chances are there will never be another one like the one you're looking at... and that's just one example. I love that people are excited by the eclipse. I'd love for them to be more excited about MORE physics, astronomy and biology. But sadly it tends not to get the news time so people miss out on stuff. And no, I didn't take this shot. I wish I did!

    2017 Eclipse

Is it just me that isn't ridiculously hyped about the eclipse? Yeah, It's kinda cool I guess, but that's about it, for me. A million astounding things happen in nature every day - all you need to do is look around to see them. I bought a macro lens for my camera a few years ago. If you think stellar events are jaw dropping, you should try looking at the world up close.
  12. The internet and youtube in particular can be FANTASTIC information resources. However, they can also be awful ones. There are no checks and balances for what information can be put on the net (so long as it doesn't break any laws), so it's very easy to produce videos or web pages that promote wrong information - either deliberately or accidentally. One of the things the school system needs to catch up on is how we check on the sources of the information we're using, and how we search for information on the internet, IMO. I'm sure if you put 'eclipse 2017, book of revelations, end of the world' into Google you'd get a lot of results but they'd be the WRONG results to be basing an opinion around. You're asking a leading question; looking for only those results that back up what you already believe and you're not being shown the massive amount of data that is in opposition to the position you're being shown. You've been a councellor - you understand that the way you phrase a question can dramatically change the answer you're given. The same goes for finding sources of information on the internet. In the same way I'm sure you wouldn't trust Kallend's opinion on interpretation of scripture, I'd be very wary of sources of information that back up your faith-based opinions while talking about science.
  13. and if so, what specific policies are you winning about?
  14. Yesterday, on the advice of his advisers Trump condemned right wing hate groups after not doing so in the wake of the Charlottesville tragedy. Today he's back to saying what he really thinks: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40943425
  15. Yeah - The only one I can think of is the old Petzl Sirocco, and even that is EEP all the way through I think. No soft / hard layers. https://www.rei.com/product/850348/petzl-sirocco-ultralight-climbing-helmet I think the new version of that one now has a polycarbonate piece on the outside top too, although I haven't seen one in person. http://gripped.com/gear/new-2017-petzl-sirocco-helmet-is-light-and-strong/ Don't pay too much attentions to posts by ChrisD - he does have a history of posting about stuff he doesn't actually know anything about. Maybe he's changed, maybe not. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=4581656;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about or why you're responding to me. But then I know nothing about baseball. I guess what you're saying is that Trump won, despite having fewer votes and that I'd campaign the same way? If so, I agree. The discussion about how flawed a system that can allow this to happen 4 times is for another thread, but you're right - I'd play the game to the rules that exist, not the rules that I'd LIKE to exist. That doesn't preclude me from wanting to change them though. The problem is that it has absolutely no relevance to my post. None. If you want a discussion about voting systems, start a new thread and we can talk it over there. Read my post again - I was pointing out that rush and Ron 'believe' (and that's the key word) in Trump so absolutely that the actual facts of any event wouldn't alter their belief in Trump any more than pictures of the earth or any other evidence from space don't change the beliefs of people who believe in a flat earth. I think that Trump could literally be caught red-handed and they still wouldn't say he was a criminal or should be replaced, instead probably pointing out how evil Hillary or Obama was. Ron has stated it outright (and I respect him for being honest about it). If facts contradict his belief system he chooses to go with what he believes. Rush acts in the same way (but hasn't gone so far as to admit to that). Gowlerk basically stated that all of these investigations, allegations and evidence that is starting to collect around the Russiagate scandal would 'rock' rush's world. My post, because of the reasons outlined above, points out why that just isn't the case for die-hard believers. There is simply no proof or evidence that could be provided that would change what they believe. It's an emotional argument, not a factual one.

It won't make a blind bit of difference to people like rush or Ron. Trump could be led away in chains and it would STILL be Obama's fault. Muller could find signed and fingerprinted documentation from Trump stating explicitly that he'll give Putin a reacharound every other Monday in return for help during the election and it'll STILL be fake news made up by the evil liberal media. And after all that Ron will state that it is STILL better than Hillary being president, and rush will STILL claim that Hillary has committed crimes and should be locked up - despite the fact you're absolutely right. It's simply not relevant to the current events... Facts and official findings have no place in their world.

What you KNOW bears no resemblance to what the 10 investigations actually reported or found. Basically you're just making shit up..

Yellow-stained sheets? You still think that was true??? LMFAO You still think Hillary committed a crime... LMFAO

    North Korea

Anybody who was raised on the idea of unlimited personal power with no accountability is going to have a seriously warped world-view. Look at Trump - he was raised with a silver spoon up his arse and has never been told no in his life, and that's one of the reasons he's acting like a petulant child now he's president. KJU is like that writ large.
  21. The nice thing about going from one side to the other is that the 'pull' on the lines as they unstow is in line with the direction of the bight itself. Your method will have the pull at 90 degrees to the direction of the lines in the stow itself, causing (I'd think) a lot more variable resistance and therefore instability than you'd be solving. Also, what do you do with all the excess line? if you're not criss crossing the length of the bag 3 - 5 times, but instead just running a line set up the edge, you're going to have a lot of line left over when you run out of room on your bag. And I'm not sure I like the stows folded over on themselves. Sounds like a good way to get a knot as they deploy. Have you actually tried this method? Put up a video, maybe?
  22. The biggest thing that stood out from the other thread for me was the guy who has 24,000 jumps saying that you need to be very, very good in all axes. That's a good indication that we had it wrong in the SIM just because we didn't know any better, I think.
  23. You're deliberately misunderstanding. I'm pretty sure most practicing Christians would say that I'm not a Christian and that I'm probably not going to their version of heaven - I don't go to church, I abhor organised religion in general, have never read the bible and disagree that religion gives people the right to tell others how they should live their lives. I simply try to live by 3 tenants: Don't deliberately be a dick to people, try to leave the world a better place than I found it, and take responsibility for your actions. That's all. And that's how I'm raising my child - No hating or judging people because of their sexuality or religious beliefs. No threats of eternal damnation if you don't subscribe to my viewpoint and no get-out-of-jail-free clause for being 'found' or 'redeemed'. I can honestly say that my behavior lets me hear the 'small still voice of the Holy Spirit' just as you do, despite probably being at odds with almost everything you believe; that little voice that says 'this is the right and moral thing to do in a given situation... So what is it? Is mine an accurate representation of Christianity as BartsDaddy asked? If not, why is yours the right one?
  24. The one that allows you to hear the small still voice of the Holy Spirit as you read it. How very convenient. Something that requires no effort, sacrifice or change and basically justifies any behavior based on however you choose to interpret it. I think that's called 'having your cake and eating it, too'.
