I didn't really want this to turn into a debate , all these arguments have been done to death. I was really just interested in people's experiences. Keep 'em coming. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Hey Robi, nice job! Do you want to do a lifestyle swap and sit in an office all day pretending to be an IT consultant?

I've just been looking at the Wings EXT, which gives you the ability to have a small main and a large reserve, then I was re-reading some old posts about overloading reserves and it made me wonder: who here has actually flown (or more specifically, landed) a highly loaded reserve? I'll leave it up to you to decide what 'highly loaded' means but if you put in your reply what the canopy was, what the loading was and how the landing was it'll be really interesting to see what people have to say. FYI, I have a Tempo 120 which I've never used but which would be loaded at 1.5 Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Which makes better copy: "I want to be known as the God of the Skies" or "Hi, my name's Felix and I like BASE jumping" ??? The bottom line is that Felix and his sponsors want/need news coverage, that's the whole point of what they're doing. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

*bump* So now you've been jumping your 97 for a bit, what's your opinion of highly loaded Sabre2s? What's the optimal loading? Anyone else? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Come on, don't be too harsh. All this "I'm my own plane" spiel is just PR nonsense. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Clicky! Wouldn't we all be a full time sponsored skydiver/base jumper if we could? And we're not the target audience for these articles so don't be too suprised when they're bollocks. There's a link on that bbc page back to the dz.com forums, nice! Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Hi everyone, I have a JVC KD-GT5 cd player sat around at home (I think it requires a seperate amp) that I'd like to put in my car and I quite fancy having a go a doing it myself. Does anyone know of any good resources online that might have general instuctions on how to do it? Any other pearls of wisdom? My car was so cheap it doesn't even have a tape player, just a crappy radio that doesn't seek very well! Thanks, Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I can't see! Where are you looking and how far into the video? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Mine have needed replacing about once a year or every 200 jumps. I turn mine off at the end of the day. If it goes through the next set of batteries as quickly it might be worth asking L&B for some advice, it's possible that there's a fault that's eating up the batteries. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I've been jumping at Langar for the last 3 years, I did my AFF there and I've done bout 450 jumps there since. Langar is a odd place. What makes it odd? Well maybe this is the same everywhere but too often it seems the will of the jumpers to jump is greater than the will of the staff to get lifts up. The first lift of the day is allowed to take off no earlier than 9am, so if there's plenty of people and the weather's good why doesn't it take off at 9am every time? I know that working in manifest can be tough and that come 7pm on a gorgeous Saturday evening they just want to open the bar and chill out but I STILL WANT TO JUMP! Having said all that, there are a handful of dzs closer to where I live and I still make the 300 mile round trip as often as I can. Why? Well in the summer we have a Let 410 in addition to the Grand Caravan (both 16 places) and the 206. At the last couple of boogies we've got a Skyvan in and even when it's really busy you know you'll get a handful of jumps in. In the winter it's still busy enough to keep the Caravan going and on a nice day you can do as many jumps as you would in the summer. More importantly though, Langar has a great group of regular jumpers and most of the staff are friendly most of the time. Busy weekends are normally the best time to catch people in a bad mood - don't start asking the CCI for a spotting brief as he tears around trying to keeping everying running smoothly! If you're into organised stuff then there's normally a sheet at manifest where you can sign up for flat stuff. The freefly scene is a bit more relaxed, if you want to join a group just go up and ask! The quality of the jumps is good and getting better as we all jump together more and more. There's a handful of birdmen, some skysurfers, even the occasional freestyler. The facilities: There's a canteen that's open during the weekend where you can buy bacon butties, there's a packing shed, somewhere to pitch your tent, a tv to stick your videos on. The bunkhouse is pretty basic and the showers resemble some kind of spider sanctuary but you're not there to pamper yourself are you? Oh and there's a bar that serves something called al-co-hol which can be consumed once the last lift is down. Gus

I just bought a Sabre2. PD took the time to give me really thorough answers to the handful of questions I had and seemed genuinely concerned that I was happy with my purchase. Great service. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Yikes. What was the canopy? Did you think about landing it? I hope someone bought you a beer after that.

UK -- Crimewatch to feature skydive murder -- Press Clips
gus replied to quade's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Did anyone else watch it? It was alot better than I was expecting: accurate and not sensationalised. It also seems to have thrown up a lead to a possible motive. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com -

Someone had to drag this thread back to skydiving! Altimaster Neptune There are a handful of threads around somewhere about the Neptune, seems like no-one has actually receieved one yet due to a problem with one of the components. It sounds like they're due any time. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

It's a flawless system alright. Just ensure that you wear a tin foil skull cap under under your helmet to prevent the feds from reading your mind whilst you defraud the telcos. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
