  1. It appears that you are unaware of how Mittens made his millions. Bain Capital. The vulture company that would swoop in and buy troubled companies. Rather than work to rebuild and revitalize the companies, they would strip them of their assets, lay off employees, and unload the shell that was left. The choices Bain management had were either to fix the issues in the companies, or to intentionally rip them apart and destroy them, for profit. They consistently chose the path of destruction. That would definitely be the actions of adult bullies. Mittens was right in the thick of it. Mittens has come out in support of the disgusting Ryan budget. The one that would shower the 1% with more tax breaks, while raising taxes and reducing services for the 99%. That is the definition of class warfare. It is a clear demonstration of the ivory tower that Mittens lives on. Those that support the current iteration of the Republican party, the tea party, and actually vote for those people are voting for policies that are driving the USA into becoming a fascist state. Beyond clueless, it is voting against that which made this country great. For the education of those that aren't fully aware, here is a cogent explanation of fascism and how it is manifested. Fourteen Defining Characteristics Of Fascism By Dr. Lawrence Britt Source Free Inquiry.co 5-28-3 Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each: 1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays. 2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. 3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. 4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized. 5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution. 6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common. 7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses. 8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions. 9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. 10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed. 11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked. 12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations. 13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. 14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
  2. Typical RWC weaseling again. Lead is a poison. It has been banned from paint for decades. It was taken out of auto gas because it is poisonous. Intelligent caring people avoid using it whenever possible. There are functional replacements for lead ammunition. Using non-lead bullets/shot prevents the intentional poisoning of the beautiful contryside that hunters claim to value. Rumor has it that non-lead ammo is more expensive than lead ammo. In the overall context of cost, the price of ammo is apittance compared to the cost of guns and hunting trips. RWCs can't stand ANY sort of progress that changes the status quo. They are experts at hiding the truth by weaselwording. Draggiung the USA into the toilet, one foul action at at time. Good work, RWCs. You must be very proud.
  3. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a dck, and types like a duck, I conclude that it IS a duck. The consistent hipocrisy demostrated by RWCs, in particular, Marc and Mikey, is quite obvious. The are being called to account for their inconsistency, and RWCs don't like having their noses rubbed into their hypocritical shit. What is saddening is that RWCs, and their toxic fear laden messaging, have taken the USA from the land of the free and the home of the brave to the land of the corporately owned peon that is scared shitless so badly that they willingly give up hard won civil liberites via the Patriot act and other heinous laws.
  4. Funny how RWCs are quick to excuse asshole behaviour from an 18 year old man, when he is their candidate. At the same time, they jump all over Obama for having eaten food provided by his parents when he was six years old. The fact of the matter is that as an 18 year old preppie, Mittens was all too willing to organize a physical assault on another student due to the perceived "differentness" of that student. He also apprently found it quite amusing to screw with a blind teacher, just for laughs. In right wing world, it seems that historical behaviour of some people matters, while for others, it doesn't. Same old hipocrisy as always. Don't you people have ANY moral consistency? Obviously not. The story goes to the heart of Mitten's character as demostrated when he was an ADULT, who should have known the difference between right and wrong. He successfully dodged military service, which makes him a hero to the RWCs of today. You people are really something... an embarassment to those of us who actually care about the USA.
  5. Typical cut/paste of RWC bullshit that gets dumb fucks all riled up via speculative bullshit. For the reading comprehension challenged, like Marc appears to be, the VERY FIRST LINE in this "news" story reads "Thousands of foreign citizens might be registered to vote in Florida – a crucial presidential swing state -- and could have unlawfully cast ballots in previous elections, the Miami Herald reported Tuesday night." The usual false "news" disclaimers applied are the words "might" and "could have", thus making the "news" story a complete work of fictional pot stirring. Unfortunately, the dumb fucks among us can't tell the difference between bullshit and facts. Fasle bullshit passing as news is a hallmark of RWC shit stirring that works really well to wind up the dumb fucks into a lather over nothing. The dumb fucks just parrot the bullshit because they are incapable of critical thinking.
  6. "This nation was founded on Christian beliefs." Total and complete bullshit that is easily debunked by any even slightly literate person. Your kind of "christian" picks and chooses those parts of the belief structure that supports whatever cockamie crap that you have heard via the RWC talking points of the day. The false christians like you will be held to account after your death for your perverted use of religion to make yourself feel superior to other human beings that don't share your particular world view. I think God will punish you severely for your misuse of His name in furtherance of your bigoted bullshit. Reagan was wrong on this issue and many, many other issues.
  7. Imagine that. A portion of a southern state with a history of racism and klan support voting against a "mud person" in favor of a jail inmate. I guess the haters identify more with the jail inmate than a graduate of Harvard Law who made history as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. This same "socialist" was also a professor of constitutional law for 12 years. That surely is a sign of some who really hates the USA and the Constitution and is plotting a socialist takeover. /INSERT MAJOR SARCASM ICON/ Rescumlicans and conservatards are doing a fine job of driving the USA into the ground, cheering all the way. Dumber than dirt, and proud of it.
  8. The ACLU has joined the defense team. That is a good thing. The ACLU works to use the system (litigation to establish if something is, or is not, constitutional, and correctly applied) to establish precedent and clearly define the law. This one may piss off the extreme left and extreme right. So it goes. The fact is that this case is perfect for establishing a just exactly how limited an active duty service person's "free speech" rights are, compared to a private citizen. Just as the ACLU helped Lush Rimjob keep his personal medical records private, this kind of litigation establishes, once and for all, what exactly is or isn't allowed by law. The system isn't perfect, but it is what we have and we supposedly respect (unless the decision goes against your beliefs) the outcome of the decisons reached as the result of the litigation. The ACLU defends both far right causes, and far left causes. The case where the evangelical church in the south wanted to use a public park for baptismal ceremonies is a prime example of the breadth of the ACLU's commitment to defining the boundaries of the law. In that case, the ACLU won and the church was allowed to apply for and get permits to use public land for occasional religious ceremonies. I agree with the discharge. You can't get away with that kind of thing if you are active duty military. He isn't getting axed for a first offense. He was ordered to stop, and didn't. Pull that in the military and you MUST be out on your ass ASAP.
  9. Word used was *STILL* 'gun' and not 'murder'. Yet another kallend LIE. Mikey, Kallend has you 100%. RWCs have been fed a bogeyman by their chickenhawk leaders in the form of "VOTER FRAUD". True to form, once a really stupid concept that sounds good on the surface, but actually has no content catches hold with RWCs, no amount of factual evidence can get them to understand what the true facts are on an issue. They are told that something is a huge issue and needs to be fixed. The fixing actualy goes against their supposed beliefs, IE, smaller government, less regulations, fewer intrusions on the freedoms of citizens, etc, etc. New laws are passed and enforced to "fix" the issue, even if it means MORE control of the citizens, not less. Hipocrisy at it's purest. Unfortunately, that is par for the course with RWCs.
  10. Both Ferrari and Lamborghini are part of the Fiat group of automobile companies. Fix It Again Tony
  11. Surely you don't expect any kind of moral or ethical consistency from right wingers. That is not part of how they roll. They have very short memories and minimal knowlege of history in general. If it isn't in the USA, or didn't happen in the USA, it is of no consequence to them. Their world is a very small and terrifying place. They believe that unborn babies nmust be protected at all costs, while at the same time are totally opposed to anything that would help a child and it's family after delivery. They are the ones that spew about the sancitiy of marriage, while divorcing at higher rates than progressives. They are nasty selfish people who have zero empathy for anyone who isn't just like them. Nothing positive for society has ever come from conservative philosophy. The damge wrought on the USA by the practical application of their philosopies is totally invisble to them. "Scared stupid" is an accurate description of their thinking processes.
  12. One intentional spelling error and I got two bites on the bait. SWEEET!!! Can't refute the content, so making fun of the intentional error is all they got. Makes my point perfectly...
  13. shouldn't the Speaker of the House spend more time doing work, less time flying? She's not the VP for christ's sake. There is work to be done. Otherwise we can expect more bills that no one gets to read first. Once again, RWCs have complete ignorance of the FACTS about someone their leaders tell them is a bad person. Pelosi was by far the most effective SOTH when it comes to getting legislation through the house, in furtherance of the goals of her political party. Due to the gross abuse of the Senate Rules, the rescumlicans managed to pervert the system into requiring a SIXTY vote majority to pass a bill though the Senate. THis is historically unprecendented and will be a subject for future historians to ponder. The hope and change that was promised by Obama should have, and would have, been delivered if it wasn't for the gross abuse by the Rescumlicans in the Senate. That led to the ill informed electorate voting in complete morons that have continued their destructive ways in boththe House and the Senate. The voters have caught on, so this election cycle, and the next one, should lead to a house cleaning of the useless scumbags, to a great extent.
  14. yes, YOU would indeed think that. What should I have thought? I only ask because it seems it's you lefties lately who seem to be the ones passing laws on what people can think. RWC fantasyland must be a very appealing place. A place where really stupid, ill informed people can't discern the difference between laws aginst ACTIONS and laws on what people can think. Normal folks can tell the difference, RWCs cannot. There are lots of really stupid, ill informed people that find the RWC fantasyland so appealing that they post stupid drivel on Internet discussion sites. Drivel that pretends to have some basis in reality, but is actually far removed from it. There are leaders of the drivel, including the drug addled gasbag that has corrupted the thinking of the easily led idiots on the right. RWCs follow those folks in lockstep as they can't and won't think for themselves. It is a sad commentary on just how badly the public scool system in the USA has performed for the past 30 years.
  15. Perhaps your indignation has something to do with your inability to comprehend? From the Snopes article you posted, Pelosi herself says she wants a plane that can travell to California without having to stop for re-fueling. While the main reason was for security, you cannot deny that the plane would get her there more quickly if it didn't have to stop. That's all the OP said, you made the rest up in your own head. Grasping at straws does not constitute a factual rebuttal. The security concerns raised by Ms Pelosi are quite legit, in spite of what Faux Spews, et al, had to say on the matter. Inquiries are not orders, in spite of what was spread through the bullshit info sources RWCs rely upon. The SOH has to be able to take over the government in a timely manner, in the event of the P and VP dying. The most risky part of any flight are in the vicinity of airports. Avoiding intermediate stops is good for both safety and security. Intelligent, well informed people know these facts. Dumbfuck RWCs, not so much. RWCs are perfectly happy to stay ignorant, and keep repeating things thjat are demonstrably FALSE!!
  16. Repeating lies does not make them true. Gingrich, Hastert, Pelosi and Boner, as speakers of the house, were/are third in line for POTUS, should the P and VP die. The House Seargent at arms makes the call as to what transportation is provided to the SOTH. The SOTH has no choice in the matter. The actual FACTS are available on many sites. Snopes has a good explanation at http://www.snopes.com/politics/pelosi/jet.asp Why do RWCs have such profound respect for honesty and truthfulness? (NOT!!!!) Maybe it is because they won't let trivial details like documented facts get in the way of LIES that support their twisted versions of reality. Or maybe they are just plain venal and stupid. That brings up a very worthwhile quote from Robert Hanlon - "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
  17. There is no way the american electorate could ever vote for this lunatic. Unfortunately, due to the reich wing's attack on education, and their immense propoganda machine, people have become so stupid that they actually vote for the crazy man, because he looks pleasant and acts like he has a clue. The reich wing's poster boy is clearly off his rocker. Porn causes brain damage? Then again, maybe he is onto something. There has to be some explanation as to why any sane person with an 6th grade education, or better, would vote for ANY republican candidate these days. http://www.ricksantorum.com/enforcing-laws-against-illegal-pornography Quoted first paragraph>>> America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography. A wealth of research is now available demonstrating that pornography causes profound brain changes in both children and adults, resulting in widespread negative consequences. Addiction to pornography is now common for adults and even for some children. The average age of first exposure to hard-core, Internet pornography is now 11. Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking.
  18. Is the bullshit in this post from planet earth? Apparently not. It is from RWC planet earth that only exists in the minds of RWCs? You have GOT to stop watching Faux Spews. Running the same foorage of TWO black men in a mostly black precinct over and over, hundreds of times a day, for days on end, does not equate to a massive "Black Panther" conspiracy. The facts of the situation are those gentlemen were there to protect the black voters for being harassed or assaulted by RWCs of northen european ancestry who have been led to believe things that are not true. The "massive frauds perpetrated by Democrat surrogates" are yet another example of the disinformation propogated by Faux Spews and happily consumed by credulous nitwits that are RWCs. That shit ain't real, in spite of it being on TV. It is what is called "fiction". Look it up and be ashamed.
  19. RWCs certainly hate freedom and personal responsibility, don't they? In some ways I am really happy that the unbelieveable invasion of personal freedom as espoused by the "conservatives" is coming out. The exosue to the invasiveness and hipocracy of their policies should produce a huge backlash against this American Taliban way of thinking and governing. They will be driven from power end put into the shitcan of history as they soundly deserve. RWCs seem to think that Birth Control is 100% and never fails. RWCs concern for children starts at conception and stops at delivery. After that, mother and child are on their own. I don't understand how the disconnect between those values you claim to believe in, and the actual policies supported, does not whack you upside the head and knock some sense into you. You don't believe in personal freedom and minimal government, while supporting heinous and invasive anti-personal freedom laws such as the forcible rape of women. Transvaginal probes forced upon women are RAPE, by the actual definition of the word. It is truly incredible that RWCs would support state sponsored rape. Do you not have mothers and sisters? Why do you hate them so much that you would support their forcible rape? Are you crazy? Hows about RWCs get subject to anal probing to find out why their heads seem to be so far up their asses that they need a proctometrist to put a glass window in their belly button so that they can see? This is a perfect example of hypocrissy on the left. They bitch screem and yell about having government control health care but then the same ones bitch screem and yell when they get what they asked for. I do not support any government involement in any healthcare but to see the left flip faster than a mexican jumping bean on a hot plate is completely hilarious. Wake up people!!! be careful what you ask for, you may just get it. This is a perfect example of the stupidity of the RWCs. Ranting about "goverment control of healthcare" when the subject is a government MANDATED, un-needed, unwanted, demeaning and physically invasive medical "diagnostic test" for an ELECTIVE procedure limited to women, and equating that with "goverment controlled health care"? Are you kidding? That is patently ridiculous. How do RWCs get to be so fucking STUPID? Is it genetic, or do they learned behavior? Probably a combination of both. The average citizen of USA would greatly benefit from a single payer health care system that would effectively be "Medicare for all", and take out the un-needed and resource draining private, FOR PROFIT, insurance companies. The companies that have DEATH PANELS that reward the members of the panels bonuses for denying neccesary medical treatment on the weakest of pretexts like "previous existing conditions", and "not reported on the original application". The USA is the only first world country that allows FOR PROFIT medical insurance companies to exist. For profit companies mazimize their profits by DENYING care whenever the goverment regulations allow them to do so. This isn't exactly rocket science. It doesn't take more that an eighth grade education to be able to figure this out, if the education provided even a modicum of rational thinking skills. RWCs pitch a bitch about "government controlled health care", without having any ability to come up with any actual examples of it. Having policies that force equal treatment of all citizens by all organizations with regard to health care is not "government regulated health care". It is "government regulated ACCESS to health care", which is exactly what the government is for. Denying access the certain kinds of health care because of "religious or moral" objections is totally wrong. What happens when YOUR employer decides that they are morally opposed to high risk sports and won't cover any injuries that occur when participating in sports they don't happen to like? The slippery slope goes a very long way. Government REGULATED health care examples are easy to come by. The drag on the economy that is the current health care system locks employees in to their employer (can't move to to a new job due to health insurance issues) and prevents average folks from starting new businesses because there is no way for private individuals to get health insurance at anything close to affordable rates. Bankrupting people over medical bills is a uniquely American thing that is quite amazing to the rest of the world. Forcing people to divorce so as to protect assets in the face of massive medical bills is a really great example of "family values", the way RWCs see it. In case you live under a rock and only watch Faux Spews, not all government regulation is bad. I like having socialized police departments, socialized fire departments, socialized public roads, and government agencies that REGULATE food safety. The Weights and Measures folks that test gas pumps and store scales for accuracy, and have the power to enfoce the REGULATIONS of same, are a positive contrbution to society. The examples of how the goverment actually works correctly far outweigh the examples of how it is broken. RWCs literally can't see the forest for the trees. The high level concepts can't be put into tidy like sound bites, so they are not comprehesible to the simple minded folk that RWCism attracts and develops.
  20. Same bullshit, different issue. Nothing positive for society has ever come out of conservative philosopy. If conservative philosophy had been applied, women would not be able to vote, segregation of public facilites by race would still be in effect, and your religion or skin color could be used to prevent you from buying property in certain areas. Fortunately the evil "liberal" philosophy carried the day and these wonderful policies were removed from the law.
  21. 22. You don't see a difference between people who are payed a few bucks for each voter they register and a states highest election official commiting voter fraud? His attempted financial gain was way more than any acorn worker. When you dismiss my source are you also stating this story is untrue? Got it, voter fraud is OK as long as someone doesn't profit too much from it. Nice set of ethics you have there. My issue with Salon is the same issue you have with Fox News. Often it isn't that the story is necessarily false in it's essence. It's the slant and perspective of the person who writes it. Is there something in their information sources that makes RWCs amazingly ignorant and incapable of discerning truth from fiction? Why yes, yes there is. To clear up the ignorance, please look up the definitions of "voter fraud", and "voter registration fraud". Next step, look up what ACORN, the organization, was actually found to have done, or not done, as investigated by real organizations like the CBO, not right wing looney bins. Once you have educated yourselves as the the FACTS of the issue, feel free to eat your humble pie and post apologies for having been so totally misled by the information sources you rely on. Take this new knowlege to the next level by FACT CHECKING everything those information sources publish. Ignorance is a curable condition. Stupidity is not.
  23. I will refrain from posting anything like he did when Ted Kennedy passed away. I hope that Ms Sherrod's lawsuit is able to be continued against his estate even though the scumbag himself is dead.
  24. The RWCs supposedly believe in "States Rights" and local rule by local government. In this case the State of Montana has totally gotten the issue correct and voted to keep in place laws against corporate corruption of the political process. The SCOTUS will probably over rule this one, as the majority is corporate owned and led. Montana has it 100% correct and SCOTUS is totally worng. Begin quoted text>>> Montana Supreme Court Hands Down Western Tradition Partnership Today, the Montana Supreme Court handed down Western Tradition Partnership v. Attorney General, 2011 MT 328. Get the 80-page opinion (including dissents) here. Question Presented: Does the portion of Montana’s Corrupt Practices Act which prohibits a corporation from making “a contribution or an expenditure in connection with a candidate” survive the United States Supreme Court decision Citizens United v. FEC, 130 S.Ct. 876 (2010)? Answer: Yes. The Court upheld the State’s ban on corporate expenditures, reasoning that Montana had a compelling interest to have the law in force. Chief Justice McGrath wrote the majority opinion which Justices Rice, Cotter, Wheat and Morris joined. Justices Nelson and Baker dissented. Majority Opinion The Court began with history and noted that Montana had a compelling interest in preventing corporate corruption in state politics when it passed the original act in 1912. ”Those tumultuous years were marked by rough contests for political and economic domination primarily in the mining center of Butte” Chief Justice Mike McGrath wrote about the famed Copper Kings, “between mining and industrial enterprises controlled by foreign trusts or corporation.” The Court then reasoned that Montana, with its history of small money campaigns, would be particularly affected by the entrance of corporate dollars which would overpower donations made by individual Montanans. With these compelling interests in mind, the Court framed the dispositive questions as “when in the last 99 years did Montana lose the power or interest sufficient to support the statute, if it ever did.” The Court concluded that the State still retained its interest: Issues of corporate influence, sparse population, dependence upon agriculture and extractive resource development, location as a transportation corridor, and low campaign costs make Montana especially vulnerable to continued efforts of corporate control to the detriment of democracy and the republican form of government. The Court ruled that Montana had a compelling interest to prohibit corporate expenditures. Justices Rice, Morris, Cotter, and Wheat joined the majority. Justices Baker and Nelson Dissented Justice Baker began by stating that she believed that Citizen United foreclosed Montana’s law as unconstitutional. ”In my view,” she wrote, “the State of Montana made no more compelling a case than the painstakingly presented 90-page dissenting opinion of Justice Stevens and emphatically rejected by the majority in Citizens United.” Justice Baker went on to say that instead of a “vain attempt” to save Montana’s law, she would interpret the law to make corporate expenditures more transparent by allowing Montana to require heightened disclosure requirements. Justice Nelson dissented, writing that the Citizens United was the “law of the land” which the Montana Supreme Court was bound to abide by. Justice Nelson made clear, however, that he did not personally agree with the Supreme Court’s reasoning in Citizens United. ”Admittedly,” Justice Nelson wrote, “I have never had to write a more frustrating dissent.” Justice Nelson wrote: Has the State of Montana identified a compelling state interest, not already rejected by the Supreme Court, that would justify the outright ban on corporate expenditures for political speech effected by § 13-35-227(1), MCA? Having considered the matter, I believe the Montana Attorney General has identified some very compelling reasons for limiting corporate expenditures in Montana’s political process. The problem, however, is that regardless of how persuasive I may think the Attorney General’s justifications are, the Supreme Court has already rebuffed each and every one of them. Accordingly, as much as I would like to rule in favor of the State, I cannot in good faith do so. Justice Nelson concluded by stating that he would not be surprised if the United States Supreme Court reversed the ruling summarily on appeal.
  25. Tax code fairness, what a concept. So complex that conservatards can't understand why taxing citizens and corporations fairly and equally is NOT hatred for those affected. It is woking towards leveling the playing field. How about conservatards get a clue about the gross inequities in the tax code? Prime example, FICA taxes. Why should the 99% pay FICA taxes on 100% of their income, while the 1% pay less, as a percentage of income, as their incomes go up past the cap? Could it be that the 1% have managed to write the tax code to their benefit? Who'd a thunk it? JUst think, the 99% could get a huge tax DECREASE if the income cap was removed. The 1% could actually pay their fair share of a tax that benefits the 99%. The 99% have been paying the bills while the 1% skate. And many of the 99% have been trained to believe that this is a good thing. Another prime example is the 15% rate on UNEARNED INCOME!! How can any sane person believe that taxing money made by labor/employment must be taxed at HIGHER rates than money made by investments/money diddling? Quite orwellian, when examined critically. Some money is more equal/valuable that others, depending on how it is made. The situation is totally broken. The owners of the media lead the gullible to believe things that are patently untrue. The same gullible folks end up defending policies that drastically hurt them, while enriching the 1%. The attack on education and critical thinking by the 1% has been REALLY successful.
