  1. Corrected information previously listed on a news site>>> According to information published on the web, the aircraft owner is named "David Major", of Grover Beach, CA. A google search turned up a web page for a pretty accomplished skydiver, videographer, and tandem master.
  2. Neither is the Fed. The people are supposed to be. But it is interesting to see that you do not care about seperation of church and state. The people get to elect the government. The people have no say in selecting bishops or popes. If the church wants separation, it shouldn't concern itself with governance except for its own. The Roman bishops are inserting themselves in a secular matter. Incorrect The state is telling a churh it has to supply birth control and morning after abortion drugs This is against a long standing church positon the state by default is tell the church what to do So the church IS concerned with only its own The drugs are still available are they not? It is just a question of who pays for them Your twist is just laughable All of these issues would disappear with a national health care system that took employers and churches totally out of the loop completely. I am SO surprised to see that RWCs are too stupid to see the reality of the situation. What happens when the Jehovah's witlesses decide that they don't want to cover blood transfusions in their health plans for NON CHURCH MEMBER employees of peripheral business that are NOT directly church related? The RWCs are a pack of useless scumbags, as usual. Health care is not something that superstitious nitwits get to pick and choose which services will be available for their NON CHURCH MEMBER employees of peripheral businesses. The CHURCH itself is allowed this level of discretion on their DIRECTLY RELIGION RELATED businesses. Their peripheral businesses like hospitals, etc, are subject to the same rules and regulations as any other employers. What the fuck is wrong with that? Equal treatment under the law is fully in place. If the churches are so wound up about this issue they can take their first amendment priveleges back to their actual CHURCH operations and sell off their peripheral businesses. On other words, keep religious privleges limited to church operations only. Peripheral businesses are NOT subject to first amendment privleges.
  3. Hasn't the input from the Right Wing Conservatives here driven home the points that - 1. They do not care about, or believe in, facts that do not support their opinions. 2. They do not care about truth, honesty, or anything that questions their opinions. 3. They have zero respect for the US Constitution, unless that part they are quoting supports their opinions as to how they think things "should" be. 4. Their hipocrisy extends to all facets of their belief structure. For example, they profess to want minimal government intrusion into personal and private lives. At the same time, they are rabidly anti-choice and anti women in general. Their supposed concern for the welfare of children ends at delivery. After that, the mother and child are on their own. Another example of the hipocrisy is their unswerving support of the death penalty, decided and carried out by the same incompetent government that they believe can't do anything right. 5. The hipocrisy extends to complete disregard for the first amendment when it comes to religions that they don't like. The prime example of this is the mosque that will be built a few blocks (a very long way in lower Manhattan) from "ground zero". 6. RWCs actually think that a former professor of constitutional law is really a socialist, which to them, is a form of terrifying bogeyman. It is much worse that this person is not fully of white, northern european descent. Given their complete ignorance of history, and their profound dislike of anyone or anything that questions authority, arguing with those idiots is like trying to reason with a child. They simply do not have the capacity to understand complicated issues, They can deal with black and white issues when they are told what and how to think. With regard to health care, the drain on the economy that for profit insurance companies are is something that needs to go the way of Jim Crow laws. It is long past time to get to a national health care system that is not employer dependent. How many entrepreneurs would start businesses if they did not have to deal with trying to get and keep extremely expensive health insurance for themselves and their families? How many people would go for new jobs if they did not have to deal with the issue of health insurance. The current system is a massive drain on, and hindrance to, the economy. Losing 30-45% of revenue to profit seeking companies that only make money when denying all services they can legally get away with is not a recipe for success.
  4. I found this to be a pretty shocking statement. Every single person around me has worked their ass off in life. No one has inherited their position or money. Does anyone else find this statement to be as jarring as I did? The statement is very accurate. All of the statistics show that upward mobility in the USA is at an all time low. What planet do right wing conservatives live on? We are living in a time that is the outcome of successful application of conservative philosophy, starting with Reagan's election. For those that understand cause and effect, we are right where we were predicted to go. A ruling class that owns the media and controls the message. A poorly educated population that has been taught that government is the problem and that rich people are superior to the rest of us and deserve very special treatment. The education has been so bad that people vote for politicians that make their lives WORSE, not better. Nothing postive for society has ever come from conservative philosophy.
  5. The people who peceive the "need" to put their children in private school are free to do so. It makes no sense at all that they should receive any special consideration with regard to the taxes they pay. No vouchers, no "portability of funds", or other right wing claptrap. I have no children, and don't plan to have them. I don't get to opt out of paying taxes towards educating the children that are here in the USA. Nor would I want to. There is such a thing as common good, and social responsibility, that is being propagandized out of existence. It is the ultimate in selfishness that ignores the founding principles of the USA. I don't get to make the call on whether or not my tax dollars will be used on a premeditated invasion and occupation of a country that never attacked the USA. I don't get to make the call on whether or not my tax dollars will be used to subsidize extremely low tax rates for the top 1% in this country. The list of issues that each individual tax payer opposes is endless. There is a method by which we influence things. They are called "elections". Local elections, state elections, and national elections. If you don't like what is going on, get involved. Vote with your wallet, and your time. Be an educated voter, not a drone. Vote for the people who are going to work for your and the USA's best interests.
  6. Those may be the rules. They are wrong. Totally wrong. It makes no sense that HOW the money is made has an effect on the tax rate applied. All income should be taxed at the same percentage rate, no matter HOW the money was made. If there is going to be a difference, money made by one's LABOR or employment, should be taxed at a LESSER rate than money made by investments/tax fiddling/diddling. The system is broken and backwards. It was put into place by the moneyed people, for the benefit of the moneyed people. Regular working folks should NOT pay a higher rate, in terms of percentage of income, than the moneyed people. Note that the term "percentage of uincome" is used. For RWCs, this concept will require some research. There are those that believe that investment income is "special" and deserves to be treated as superior to, and subject to less taxes than money made by labor. How can anyone with an IQ over 50 ever justify the concept that money earned by this method or that method should be taxed at different rates? Income is income. Tax it all at the same rates. One kind of income is not superior or inferior to another. It is ALL income, and should be taxed at the same rate. Isn't there supposed to be a level playing field? All citizens are equal. But some are more equal than others...
  7. Interesting version of history. Given the current efficiency of DOJ, I find that unsurprising. Sure thing, Bill. As usual, one's perspective of an issue comes down to sources of information and ones already estalished belief system. The RWC information sources like Faux News, Lush Rimjob, et al, provide factually inaccurate information that bolsters an already established perspective. That perspective cannot and will not be moved by ANY amount of factual infomation on an issue. The facts will be totally ignored by RWCs. Only that information that supports the perspective as learned from factually inaccurate information sources will be accepted. No other information will be considered as that, among RWCs, is a sign of weakness and elitism that simply can't be tolerated. The problem with this is that the RWCs are supporting policies and politicians that produce extremely bad outcomes for average citizens, like myself. The outcomes are spectacular for the 1%. RWCs, if they actually honestly considered the outcome of what they support, they might come to the realization that they are voting against the best interests of the USA as a whole. They certainly support policies and politicians that are against their own best interests. Mike, you really should look up what voter fraud is, and what voter registration fraud is. Then look up what ACORN did, from a FACTUAL perspective. If you actually had the intellectual honesty to do this, and the character to admit when you have been led astray, you could become a better informed citizen. It is very unlikely that ANY RWC has the ability to challenge themselves in this way. Closed minds and total lack of curiosity, and inability to question authority, are the hallmarks of RWC thinking. If Faux or Rush says something, it is true, no matter what the actual documented facts show. With regards to Republican's inability to conduct an honest election when they control the entire process, it sure speaks volumes about just how morally and factually bankrupt they are. Can't even admit when they fucked up. If Santorum got the most votes, he won the contest. It isn't a tie, or a draw. They sound like politically correct liberals when they spew that bullshit.
  8. Here again, what's the fuss? It's like putting women's panties over the enemy's head. Big deal. I couldn't even detect the urine flow in the video. Since the repeal of DADT, there are probably videos of U.S.Troops urinating on each other. One of the Marines understood the meaning of "Golden Showers." Back in the day, troops would often cut off an ear and attach it to their web gear after leaving a unit death card in the corpse's mouth. It's called combat and not everyone is cut out for it. But, if you are, you better have the right attitude about it. Otherwise, you won't live very long. How Christian of you to make excuses for this kind of behavior. This is a perfect example of the kind of false "christianity" that makes people sick to their stomachs. A decent and moral Christian would denouce such behavior, without question. Thanks for making perfectly clear the shallowness of what some people pretend is christian beliefs. Odds are the Marines in the video are devout followers of Lush Rimjob and Right Wing Conservative thinking. This kind of behavior fits right in with those small minded, ignorant assholes that have perverted this country to hell. I am sure the usual suspects here have expressed their full support of the Marine's desecration of the corpses. I am not going to bother to read this thread as the RWCs are sure to have had plenty of disgusting things to say in defense of the Marines in the video. When you folks get to meet you maker, you will have a lot to answer for.
  9. In a general election, it's somehow a burden for the same people that need ID to get a job, cash checks, get utilities, etc etc etc to have a form of ID to vote? Do you need I.D. to cash government checks? No ID is required to deposit checks into your own bank account. In small communities where you are well known to the people who run the business where you are cashing the check, no ID is needed. So much for that pathetic argument. The actual outcome of voter ID laws is to prevent certain kinds of people from voting. That would be poor people, inner city people, and old people. Those folks would be voting overwhelmingly for Democrats, so it is in the best interest of the rich people who run the GOP to do everything they can to prevent them from voting. The sheeple RWCs buy the bullshit from their corportate masters and parrot the talking points. Once again, why to RWCs hate the USA and their fellow citizens so much? Isn't the correct position in a democracy to try to get everyone who is eligible to vote to actually do it? How can passing laws to suppress voting rights be construed to be a positive outcome for democray?
  10. That's the ONLY reason, huh? It couldn't be the possibility of people voting who don't live in the district, people voting who aren't US citizens or keeping people from voting more than once? Maybe you should take a step back and look at your ideology...seriously. More complete bullshit about voting that has no basis in reality. Show me the FACTS as to this so-called epidemic of VOTING Fraud that the ID laws are supposed to solve. Those facts don't exist, except in the small minds of the sheeple who follow their coprorate masters blindly. Note - Voting registration fraud is a totally seperate and distinct issue from VOTING fraud. The issues are totally different, unless, of course, you are an RWC that swallows the bullshit, hook, line, and sinker. The RWCs conflate the two as being identical and an equal threat to election integrity. These same well meaning, but badly informed people totally igonring the documented proof of the election fraud perpetrated by the computerized voting machines. Why do RWCs hate the USA and their fellow citizens so much? Why do they support removing rights and personal freedoms from their fellow citizens? Why do they hate women so much that they want to have the government involved in a woman's personal and private medical decisions? Because that is what they are told to think by their information sources. Goebbels must be very proud of the success of his ideas and techniques as applied by the corporate media. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Goebbels
  11. The best possible thing that could happen to the 2012 election would be for Psycho Santorum to get the GOP nomination. The fact that his political positions are so far outside the mainstream for sane people means that Obama would have a cakewalk. He is totally opposed to all forms of contraception, even for married couples. That all by itself is enough to lose him the election. Unfortunately, that is why he'll never make it. Apparently Iowa Republican voters don't use the internet much. Sanctorum is so crazy that even a cursory look at his history should have made him a non-starter from the get go. It is a sad commentary on the extreme ignorance of the Republicans in Iowa.
  12. Full story: PolitiFact.com Funny how RWCs can perceive a proposal to turn a totally government operated system (Medicare) into a government funded "voucher" system to allow people to buy private insurance on the open market (Ryan's plan) as NOT "'Republicans voted to end Medicare". Explain just how this is NOT "'Republicans voted to end Medicare". The existing successful system would be ended in favor of a massive government giveaway to private insurance companies. Those companies would be for profit companies, privately operated. There is no possible way for any rational human to call this anything other than "'Republicans voted to end Medicare".
  13. It is extremely rude to expose sane people to the rantings of a crazy, drug addled gasbag. I have gone into retail business establishments, heard Lush Rimjob being "shared" with the staff and customers, and done the following - I picked up some of the expensive items I likely would have bought if they weren't clueless idiots, taken them to the check out counter, and asked to speak to a manager/owner. When that person showed up, I tell them that, due to the "entertainment" being forced upon thier potential customers, I was NOT going to purchase the items that day. All three of the businesses in my area that had this issue are now closed. Is there a connection? I sure hope so. Too bad I don't work for ASCAP and thus would have had the ability to cost them a ton of money for rebroadcasting copyrighted material in public spaces without paying for the privlege. I think your story is made up, YEP I don't believe YOU, that story is like getting struck by lightening more than four times in a life time. I can't see one person such as yourself impacting a business because he was subjected to over hearing a group of people discussing Rush's program or any other such topics. What's the name of that card game?? "Bull Shit" that sums it up. That's just my .02 cents. Now off to myself imposed BANNING Shitty customer service = businesses close. When potential customers are intentionally exposed to one of the most fucked up personalities ever to have gained a following, that is shitty customer service. Lush Rimjob has been an extremely toxic contributor to the USA since he has been on the radio. I credit him for establishing the toxic mess we are in now, with regard to civilzed discourse between people who have different views of morality, justice, and politics. Who can forget his absolute hatred of drug addicts, right up until he got caught. Who can forget his absolute hatred of the ACLU, right up until they defended him (successfully, and CORRECTLY!!) when his personal medical records were in play when his drug addiction and doctor shopping became public knowlege. The people who can forget are his followers... as truth and honesty have no place in their world. These are the same folks who will vote for Newt Gingrich. They have morals and standards, right up until it actually matters. Then their bullshit goes right out into the trash, as it was never real to begin with.
  14. It is extremely rude to expose sane people to the rantings of a crazy, drug addled gasbag. 15. Those that are Right Wing Conservatives do have serious issues when it comes to learning anything that conflicts with their belief systems. Anything that challenges the RWC dogma as presented by the corporate media is ALWAYS difficult for them to comprehend. It is part of the DNA of RWCs. They are told what and how to think by their masters, and accept it without question. Any challenge to the dogma is discarded, as thinking independently, with critical analysis and fact checking is not something that is a positive personality trait, to them. It is no surprise that the history of the IWW is something that there is ZERO knowlege of, among RWCs. The people beat the corporate interests in those days. We'll see if the true patriots among us rise to the top these days, as they did in those days.
  16. If there was an attack on a "Tea Party" meeting, Faux Spews and all the other corporate media would have been covering it 24/7. Since the Occupy movement is NOT a corporate creation in furtherance of the corporate goals, there is almost no coverage at all. How can any reasonable person conclude that corporate media is "fair and balanced"? Why are RWC types so easily led to act in ways that are NOT in the best interests of themselves and the country they claim to love so much? The tactics that the corporate media, Lush Rimjob, Scummity, etc, is to create division in our society so that we stay powerless. They have mastered this perfectly. They follow the teachings and tactics of Joseph Goebbels. We the people have to get together and take power back. That is what the Occupy movement is all about. Dick Armey and the Koch brothers can create the "Tea Party" out of thin air and RWCs deny the fact that this is completely proven to be true. If George Soros was a backer of the Occupy movement, the RWC media machine would have been on it 24/7. Fair and balanced? Quite the opposite. RWCs, please start to get an understanding of the facts. It will help the whole country. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2011/10/25/2011-10-25_occupy_maine_protesters_targeted_by_chemical_attack_explosive_liquid_thrown_at_c.html RWCs are the ones trying to kill the political opposition. This is shameful and wrong. I can't see Progressives resorting to the same tactics. We don't have hate mongers in our media outlets.
  17. Nice, very nice. More stupid political stuff from the RWCs
  18. Any name but Berkeley. What is wrong with using Berkeley in the name of the project? Have the RWC bullshit artists managed to make you think something is wrong with a geographic name? Are RWCs too stupid to tell the difference between a city in California that has an excellent and famously liberal college with many Nobel prize winners on the faculty, and other places in the world with the same name? It must really suck to be that easily led into moronic thinking. Then again, RWCs don't appear to have any ability to discern fact from fiction. Witness the success of Faux Spews.
  19. The Wall Street Journal is owned by Rupert Murdoch these days. Anything published in the WSJ must be fact checked quite carefully. Just like Faux News, they do not subscribe to any form of journalistic ethics nowadays. None. This is a fact - there has been no effort to investigate, indict, prosecute, and jail the criminals that put the US economy over a cliff. Every single US citizen has had $50,000.00 borrowed and handed over to the banks that are "too big to fail", so as to prevent the collapse of the world economy. Now that we, the people, are finally getting it together to force the issues, the weasels are starting to feel the heat. The corporatocracy is going to have to adapt to the fact that you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Thirty years of the government being of, by and for the corporations is long enough.
  20. Why aren't John Rich and Mikey posting here defending the (non) excellence that is Texas? If it is such a great place, why did this take so long? When are the awards granted to the maggot in Tulia going to be withdrawn? Texans apparently do not have and shame or guilt over their government. They sure are real proud of the state when it comes to success like the lowest number of children covered by health insurance and the highest proportion of low wage jobs created over the past five years. Things to be real proud of.
  21. A good place to watch the show is the Marina Green. If you stand about 100-200' to the left of the pumphouse, facing out to the water, the flight of 4 passes overhead a few times if they do their normal routine. Having seen them fly in several states, I can guarantee that there is no better venue than SF Bay.
  22. Yes, but there are others on the list no more likely to win than she was. I expect that if the poll were done now, she would still come out ahead of half the pack. Which speaks volumes about how utterly fucking STUPID people in the USA have become. The propaganda from the corporate media is making folks dumb and dumber. Faux News makes people believe that the Black Panthers are a real organization, that voter fraud is a real concern, and that all Muslims are a serious threat to the USA. Dumb and Dumber, without any shame or embarassment. The USA is fucked. We'll be a second rate country in my lifetime. Much like England became after WWII.
  23. Thanks for proving the point, Bill - you may now return to your scheduled Republican bashing. Hey Mikey, bashing idiots and their followers is what Bill is doing. Because the idiots and their followers are Republicans/RWCs, it seems to some morons that the bashing is strictly against Republicans. Bill is consistent. He bashes idiotic Democrats, too. You never notice that because it aligns with your views.
  24. No you did not answer my question. Not even close. You agree with general platitudes while totally avoidng anything that would require thoughtful reflection and confronting the hipocracy of the RWC mindset.
  25. +++ What does +++ mean? Does it mean that you WISH that businesses would be operated in an ethical and socially responsible manner? Does it mean that there should be regulatory intervention from state and/or federal government agencies to make this form of employment discrimination illegal? Yes to #1 is what I expect for an answer from you and your kind. Otherwise you would be expanding the government powers and removing choices from the free market. That would be quite progressive. And that ain't how you all roll. Why should the government regulate how the free market for employment works? Why should businesses be forced to accept un-employed job candidates, Asian job candidates, Mexican job candidates, female job candidates, or any other people that are deemed "undesirable" by the management? Must be a weird liberal idea that actually caught on. Kinda like the weird Union ideas about sick time, vacation time, overtime, and that kind of thing. We all take it for granted, but RWCs conveniently forget how these things came to be. What happened to the answer to my question, Mikey? Does this kind of challenge to your cherished beliefs make you uncomfortable? What is the answer?
