Thank you and when the hell are you coming back to Florida to visit all the DZ's and people you snubbed on the last trip?

13 whuffos transformed, how many will keep jumping??
bendywendy replied to bluegremlin's topic in The Bonfire
I can always tell who will come back as soon as I see them after a tandem - providing money is not the issue! -
Now, that I see it, I don't like it!
-
ah, thank you - I don't care what the others say about you, Ivan - you're ok
-
hmmm... could be - my computer does have some issues - that's why it sits here with the side off it - so I can operate on it at a moments notice... I'll try the simple fix first, though and perform a system cleansing ritual.

I seem to be having a problem changing my avatar. Anyone else? I browse and locate the new picture (yes, the size is ok and yes, it is a jpeg) but it never pulls up the new picture. Any suggestions?

Whats your Name and what do you do for a living?
bendywendy replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
My name is Wendy Waller. I am the office manager at Skydive Sebastian and am a senior rigger. I have been a packer & hanger master, an off-road driving instructor for Land Rover, a Culinary Steward for a 4 star resort - also at same resort worked in Human Resources and the Sales Department. I've been a retail manager for several large companies, worked in accounting for Liberty Mutual, been an executive assistant at Eveready Battery Co., a customer liason with Unisource, done framing for Deck the Walls, worked on a construction site, bartended, all the way back to the take out window at a restaurant and hostessing, shoveling horseshit & giving a few riding lessons to my first paper route. Phewww!! It's been a lot of fun! -
Post: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The worst part about vacations is that they end. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ditto! Why can't we all just live our lives on vacation all the time? My life is one big vacation even when I'm working!

It happens the other way around too (husbands that can't deal with it) although there was definately more to it than skydiving - that was just were the final battle of the wills line was drawn.
-
You know I'll be there but thanks to unavoidable circumstances I can't get there until Saturday night. Keep your phone on and I'll have the marshmallows - no chewing gum this time - please!!
-
That's a compliment, right?

Whoa, just checked in and see my name. Sexy voice? You should have heard it this week after all the yelling I did at the Keys Boogie. AND if you had come out to Sebastian you would have received your duly owed bites and you could have found out if the rest of me matches the voice. Katie - do we have those t-shirts ready yet for those who've been bitten.
-
what? I was having fun trying to translate them and I think I was doing ok.

Most dropzones (not all but most) unless you are the offspring of the DZO or an instructor you have to be 18 these days. The reason is because I'm not sure if it is all state but most states - your guardian can not legally sign away your rights and yet you aren't able to legally sign away your right either. So if anything should happen to you while skydiving and you and/or your family decide to sue the waiver you sign is useless and you can kiss that DZ goodbye. So consider yourself lucky to be able to jump at all and think of how good you'll actually be when you hit 18.

oh, shame on you - if we get snow in florida this year - it will be because you jinxed us!

No, no, no! First of all it isn't impressing - it was inspiring! There is a difference. This isn't a who would you want to bang list! These are the people who have made me want to do something more, go a little further, make some kind of change. It just happens that I've worked around some excellent dropzones and gotten to meet and jump with some people who are not only excellent at what they do but good people! I know plenty of excellent fliers and swoopers that if they were the only ones I knew I'd seriously consider giving up skydiving because of their attitudes. Jay was just another random tandem instructor when I met him. Heath was just another guy working for monkeyclaw and Gillian is just a girl I know who likes to fly. It has nothing to do with their images - it's who they are that is inspiring.

was that funny?

hey, you're right so I think I need to be on YOUR inspirational list!!! How about dem apples?
-
I didn't mean more of yours - there are some people out there who post constantly the most mindless, boring look at me stuff constantly - it's a good thing I'm not a greeny. I'd have my finger poised over the delete button doling our moderator justice...
-
I wish a lot more would just disappear!
-
Maybe you will inspire me in the future. I've not jumped with you, nor seen you jump, nor seen you swoop nor even really talked skydiving with you so you aren't it yet. But now your DJ abilities are fine, fine, fine and I would like to hear more than an hour of it someday!

The list of skydivers who have inspired me is way too long but here's a few... Jay Moledzki - was my tandem instructor and is still a good friend. It's been great to see him start to realize his dreams. Heath Richardson - Amazing freeflier and canopy pilot. I miss jumping with him. He's so incredibly laid back, smooth and fun to jump with. He makes everything seem so easy. One of the best people I know. JC Colclasure - I've never been on a jump with him but he has such a big heart and goes out of his way for everyone. He helped me several times and I will never forget that. Clint Clawson because he's such a damn swooping machine. If I can only become half as good as he is I'll be happy. But if he brands me with a hot fork again I will have to remove him from this list. John Eddowes - great to work for, fun to work for and runs one hell of dropzone. I miss being there. Rook Nelson - Amazing flier and just an all around sweet person. Stay that way, please. So much fun to jump with - another one that makes you seem so much better than you are because no matter what you do there they are. Thomas Hughes for all his freefly jumps with me because he constantly would yell at me and get me to do things that I didn't think I could possibly do. Making me realize that it is only my head that holds me back. Whenever I jump with someone who makes me push the envelope I rise to meet the challange. Of course, like Rook and Heath he's so damn good - they make you look good. Stuey Newman - major pain in my ass but definitely has had some small part in inspiring me here and there. Made some trips and events possible for me that without his input wouldn't have been panned out. Marianne Kramer because she competes alongside the big boys in swooping and holds her own and gives me hope that I can get there too. And finally Gillian Parker because she's gotten so good in such a short period of time that it gives me hope that if I ever find someone at the same DZ as me who will just buckle down and pound out a bunch of jumps that I can grow in leaps in bounds as well. If you don't know who she is, you will someday soon because she's bound to make a name for herself.

I love sharing the shower! I don't mind getting chilly- it just feels that much better when you get under the water or even better I usually have two shower heads.
