Pregnant women and skydiving?
slug replied to adrenalinejunki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi AJ Potential gains vs losses. What's the rush? Wait 8 month's skydiving will still be there. Even a broken leg might be a PIA for a prego. (I'm a guy what do I know) In the meantime take her to the DZ for a picnic for some quality time. Congrats on being a dad. -
Really If the business model works in the US why not export it to the rest of the world. The internet is a big market and there are a lot of unsuspecting Tandem wanna be's. Once the customer pays in advance to bad so sad they have to travel to the nearest authorized DZ maybe england. We've seen reports of "customers" having to drive 8 hours to the nearest authorized DZ. (safest, most experienced, etc bull shit). Or lose their $280. The oldest business in the world learned the value of "Money down befor lay down" befor they screwed their customers. R.I.P.

I agree completely After the AG gets enough correspondence from a bunch of pissed off customers from their state maybe they will do something. Maybe after one AG takes skyride to court the rest of the states will follow suit.

The Kitchen is a like a industrial work environment. Sharp blades, hot liquids, open flames, bad food etc. The wife was removing a fondue pot from the stove when the handle seperated from the fondue pot spilling boiling oil on her leg The good news is the "boss" was wearing blue jeans and combat boots, so she wasn't injured. The nylon carpet otoh melted.. If the "Boss" had been dressed like Mrs Cleaver. Folks be careful in the kitchen, shit happens!!! R.I.P.

What can we do about Skyride?
slug replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Teason Don't sweat the nay sayer It's just a diversion. In a previous post the same dude said if someone has a problem with Skyride "contact the BBB" . Get the picture Your better off debateing with a head of lettuce The BBB thats R.I.P. -
Now you did it After looking at everyones pic we rushed out and adopted our third lab (X) So Now we have a 11 year old black Female, a 6mo old male (yellow) we got from the pound at 2 mo's and tonight we picked up a 1 yr old yellow male. We've got the 1 yr old on loan for the night to see how he works out. The 6 mo old pup was to much for the 11 yr old. So the plan is to have the pup and the 1 yr old tire each other out and let grandma rest in her golden yr's. Stay tuned for pics if the hounds don't eat the camera. BTW the county says we can have up to 6 dogs. R.I.P.

For a serious prank try Saran wrap between the bowl and the seat. Don't try this at home or sleep on your stomach

Hi IMO you don't need "friends" like that. So confront them and if/when it happens again. You told then so, say good-by.

Do you judge people based on their financial background?
slug replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
I think it's true to some point even at the DZ. If people have money they can buy their way into the sport thru the express lane. When money is no object the folks with the $$$ can if they want to: buy lots of new gear, nice jumpsuits, tunnel time, coach's for everyting, packers, mass qty's of beer, girl friends, boy friends etc These folks with $$$ will learn the skills much faster than joe blow and will be progress in the sport a lot faster, "people who had a privileged upbringing have a much easier time meeting friends and are accepted a little more easily" At a DZ "privileged upbringing, is measured in other ways besides $$$$. Good looking babe hooking up with a experienced jumper express lane Second generation jumper, Wife, child, employer friend of someone already in the sport. All of these folks get special privaleges. Just like the folks with the $$$$ -
Another good reason I'm so glad I'm not on that list Amazon Ditto
