Hi My reference toward the exxon valdez wasn't a personnel attack towards you or your industry. It's part of history, it happened and some folks learned a very expensive lesson. Being impaired when other peoples lives/property are at stake is very serious. Impairment can be caused ingesting various substances legal/illlegal, physical/mental illnesses, lack of sleep, lack of experience etc. As we stated befor you see something you don't like about a person (whatever reason) you don't have to jump with them

www.christianaggression.org/item_display.php?type=NEWS&id=1115331573 What's going on with our military leadership these alleged acts of religious intolerence at the Academy on the heals of the alleged sexual harressment incidents makes a person wonder about the current military leadership and the future leaders that the academy is turning out. Is this stuff really going on? Anyone see a problem with it? Or is the media/left /right whatever just stirring the pot to sell newspapers. Hi Exxon Valdez. The captain was a known drunk Wonder what his BAL was at the time of the big oil slick in alaska. Why didn't Exxon management send the captain to rehab befor the fact There's a very good reason your industry needs to have a zero tolerence policy for critical positions. The clerk/president back at the office R.I.P.

We've covered all this ground before. I'm spending my limited time here on new subjects that aren't a repeat. Ho-hum! Hi JR It's hard to get worked up about the SOS. But i thought you might have a couple of standard links to some of the past posts on the subject that you could cut copy and paste or do a clicky. This thread is the same issue just a new person asking the same questions to for whatever reason. R.I.P.

I lived in Orange County and got phone calls at home from recruiters, 6 months after I graduated. Are they more aggressive somehow at Long Beach Poly? Hi Kelp Sorry I'm not a california person so don't know the difference between orange county, or long beach poly. The recruiters have to go to the high schools were they will be most successfull. IMO it's not going to be where the majority of the kids are going to go to college on their folks nickel, or going to get a good job out of high schol due to their folks, or friends. In order for recruiters to get close to their quotas their going to look for kids with few job opputunities in the civilian world. The latest media feeding frenzy about the recruiter caught on tape telling a potential recruit where he could get a mail order HS diploma and how to pass a UA by using a masking agent is a bad sign. The fact that the army had a one day training session for their recruiters after the mdia circus tells me this wasn't a isolated case of poor judgement by one recruiter. If the military want to hire quality people to operate their high tech equipment they are going to have to pay competitive wages, come up with realistic tours of duty and stop using loopholes like stop loss. The all volunteer army was based on a lot of troops that had family's that would be able to enjoy a stable family life. thats not happening now. We discussed recruiters meeting their enlistment goals in this forum befor and were told no problem mision accomplished. Didn't make to much sense at the time but not worth a yes no SC circle jerk. We don't see the military's recruitment problems being solved for quite a while. Lets support our troops and their families.

Ditto: first time shame on DZO Second time shame on employee/contractor One reason not to have money on Account at some DZ's. R.I.P.

Hi Anvil I think the army is trying to figure out how to reach their personel requirements for a all volunteer military during these challenging times. Mr cave was just pointing out that some of the challenges the recruiters have always experienced are getting worse. Who ever believed what a recruiter told them. The military has a recruitment problem because the cat is out of the bag about what a 4 yr enlistment means, National Guard and reserves: one weekend a month 4 yr's. Heard a blurb on the news about the army considering some type of 1.5 yr enlistment. . IMO the military has already found a solution to their low recruitment problems. Merc's oops did I say that I mean "contractors" When the price is right the the people shortage won't be a problem. Support our troops and their families!!! R.I.P.

Hi Rich the origional question was Then you changed it to "This thread is getting off track. The original question was simply would you, or would you not submit to a random ua." Can't have it both ways Why do you want to require skydivers to have random UA's? Would you share the sky with someone you know is UTI. Would you feel better sharing the sky with someone if they were UTI of prescribed meds that left them impaired? R.I.P.

I have very close ties with the law enforcement officials in my town, and county. I have law enforcement officials in my home all the time. And no, i would have no problem with anyone coming to my home. I have absolutely nothing to be paranoid about. This thread is getting off track. The original question was simply would you, or would you not submit to a random ua. How it expanded into "Big Brother" and all of this other complete BS is beyond me. Your main concern seems to be you being put in a situation with jumping/flying with a person who is DWI You have total control of that situation. Don't trust the folks your jumping with you don't have to jump with them unless they have a current UA.

We had a similar situation in KC 15-20 yr's ago except the store owner folloed the perp into the parking lot . The perp collapsed after being shot in the store but was able to make it out the door. The perp cussed at the store owner who shot him two more times. The perp didn't have a gun only had a hand in his pocket. The store owner was charged and tried by a jury and found not guilty. there was medical testamony that the fatal shot was fired in the store. R.I.P.
-
I concur with your conclusion. IMO a slam dunk is better than a maybe from a confused jury and 2 slick lawyers. Raping a 9 yr . Hope they Rot in a shithole prison and die from prison justice befor they get released. R.i.P.

Of course I'd submit to a random drug test, any time any place Of course random has its short comings so lets test every one
-
Hi rwieder How are you today Why restrict drug screening to illicit drugs only? Some Prescription drugs can be as distracting as illicit drugs. Other factors can affect a persons performance like lack of sleep, hung over, etc. IMO Any type of random testing for fun jumpers will just be for show. Reading the incident reports on DZ.com I don't see where drugs were a problem in the majority of fatalities. A random IQ test might have been more effective. BTW Maybe this subject should be switched to general skydiving for more exposure. Have a Nice day R.I.P.

Greatest difference in height between you and a girl/boyfriend in inches
slug replied to dixieskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Hey its the gods honest truth... It happened again a week ago when I was cleaning out the garage and was headed to the dump. I stopped by my friends house that she is renting out while she is working under contract in Tenn. One of the renters friends.. was knocking back a few... must have been about 5'4".... and was stepping all over his tounge the whole time I was there. Hi amazon Don't sell yourself short You got lots of other things going for you besides your height. A Job A brain Red hair Party animal Great personality Fast fall rate physicaly strong Gotta stop time fpr my nap. It's not about being tall or short (jerks come in all sizes and genders) it's all about the person. Amazon I'm supposed to be around for another 28 yr's, the stats say the LOML won't last that long so lets stay in touch, or contact or, you know what i mean. I'll probably be shorter the older I get -

Giving the Rangers Black Beret to everyone in the Army?
slug replied to steve1's topic in Speakers Corner
The ranger tab still means a lot to the the folks that count. Enough that a officer at Ft lewis got busted for wearing the ranger tab without earning it. The army/military IMO is a little strange about their medals. The west pointers go thru jump school and get to wear their jump wings for the rest of their career withoutout making another jump. We recently found out that their are actually 2 different bronze stars. The real one for herorism, and another one for meritorious service Irather judge a soldier by what they are in the field than the medals they may have been awarded for questionable reasons. Like McArthur recieving the Medal of Honor so he wouldn't feel bad for bugging out of the P.I. West pointers R.I.P. -
Maybe that's why it was clear to you. Both of us read things differently due to our political and personal beliefs. Hi AD someone needs to wake up the dynamic duo JR & Mr K. their opinions on guns are very clear. really surprised they haven't humped on this thread. R.I.P.

JR You talking to yourself again As you were R.I.P.

Recruiters. If they want to visit high schools fine, but they need to stop targeting the schools in the inner city. Who knows maybe some of the rich kids will put off college for a couple of years for god and country and the G.i. bill once they get the recruiters pep talk. R.I.P.
