I have never had red cotton tied around my reserve pin, as long as your documentation is in date and checked by the CCI / other designated person and accepted you should be fine. The UK reserve pack cycle is 6 months. Also I hear that there are a bunch of people at weston this weekend............

My response was to someone who said ALL the base jumpers they knew limped... I agree BASE has more risk, but not all of them limp... Just most. not all, but one evening I was in a pub with about 8 friends (all BASE'rs) and one guy who had decided to give up was talking to me, I said his reasons were understandable, and took a moment to look around, I then turned to him and said if you think about it all of us here this evening have metal work in our legs apart from you.............. and yes, I do limp..............

So is BASE, but what you will find is that in their small print and exclusions it will cover their asses 10 fold if anything other than what they decide parachuting is used for a claim........... For trips to Europe you can pretty much use a E1-11 to cover you, but other than Europe (especially the states) just be sure you have cover (or do what my friend did, give a false name and do a runner from the hospital) hehehe If I get injured outside Europe, I got some pretty hard shit to go through to prove I fell down the stairs at my hotel!

try other searches using: (for example) inurl: intitle: intext: etc etc etc etc I found that I have a name sake that is at the forefront of bale wrappers! and also another of my name sake does a cracking line of alpine packs!

you should try getting insurance for BASE. Every company I have spoken to (and today I called all the ones in this thread) and although "parachuting" is listed, there is a specific named exclusion for BASE on each one......... There used to be a few companies that did it, but now its like rocking horse shit.......... you can get insurance from anyone for an untrained numptie to slap on some skis and hurtle down a mountain..........

well a reserve repack after every jump! we just do it ourselves........... (I have always said to people who say "you dont jump with a reserve" that we do jump with a reserve we just dont jump with a main.....

Dude, 'allow' ??? I'm all for a bit of consideration and cooperation with the coastguard but as far as I'm aware we're doing absolutely nothing even vaugely llegal jumping there. Gus sorry Gus, wrong choice of words - dont give us shit is a better term of phrase...............

Lets not encourage people there. Its nice that the Police and coastguards allow us to jump there (with notice), so please dont think that its perfectly fine or safe to turn up and go ground launching your skydiving canopy from it.

I wear an ankle protector and Hanwags, I went through my phyiso for the ankle protector - its a nifty bit of kit. Perhaps contact your local physio and I am sure they will help you out.
