I am trying to avoid this thread....but.... I see your point Kev, but there is a line. Just because someone survives, does not mean it should be that hard. I agree she pulled through and showed character doing it. Do I think she should have faced what she did? No. You ahve to put bounds on your theory, otherwise it could be carried to something like: "Your airbag hurt you? But is saved your life didn't? You lived, there is no reason to really turn it off." Just because you survived does not mean there is not a better way. I made it through school and I am grateful for it, but I think there is a much better. I saw kids get Pell Grant that did not give a rats arse, because all they had to do was keep above failing to keep the Pell Grant. Yes they are underprivileged, they deserved the chance to be there. Did they deserve the change to stay there? No, I dont think so. I would have loved even $1000 grant a semester. But I never got it. Anyway, I dont want to drag Michelle's life around anymore, I am sure it is already a little weird seeing your life debating in a forum. But I just wanted to share my views. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Cajones, all of what you say I have seen in the rigging threads. My understanding is that they have been TSOed, at least as high as rapide (TSO-c?-d?) I agree, I am hearing a lot of recommendations. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Guys, I am curious about what you use for links. I have a new canopy on the way, and am considering using slinks. I have read all the past threads on slinks in the rigging forum. But I was curious if you guys have any particular experience about using slinks and jumping camera. I know for sure that the slider will be coming down faster. Previously, I had type 8 risers. I jump a batrak with a PC-1 mounted left hand side. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Well true....but....I don't I haven't really cared for the Cowboys since Johnson left. Like someone on the radio said this morning...Why didn't Jones resign instead? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Dude, I am with you. Q2 rocks. It is old, but was my first diehard game. And I still have it installed. UT2003 is not all that is cracked up to me. Nothing revolutionary, just UT with better graphics. All the team games were around in mods for Q2 long ago. Now Doom III, that might be the next revolution...

But the fact still stand that is was three years ago. All the analogies about providing assistance in accident or another situation do not apply. This had plenty of time to be dealt with legally. Ron: dont feed the trolls. it is not worth it. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Nobody said don't treat underprivileged people. We were talking about legality. Has everyone glanced over the fact: THIS FAMILY DID NOT COME SEEKING URGENT MEDICAL HELP. THEY WERE FOR THREE YEARS!!!! That is long enough to do it legally. It was not like a traffic accident. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

As someone has already stated the sneaky and treacherous french men put this on the Statue of Liberty so they could later immigrate I think deserving is too strong a word. Perhaps she should not have been given precedence over US citizens would be a better wording. Plus she was here illegally. You ever seen an INS bust? I have, I live in Texas, they don't really check for internal organ condition. No green card? you are the weakest link, bye bye. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Exactly, as a society we are spend money on foolish obsessions, and then expect someone to hands us wads of it when we make a choice that proves bad. If we had always done this, the puritans would have bought a paddleboat instead of the Mayflower and then sued the manufacturer when they ended up in Ireland. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Dang it, I agree with Billvon twice in one day. PhillyKev, I see your point. but unfortunately, Bill is exactly right. This marketplace is very capitalistic, if there are not enough advantages to surviving the risks, the proposition will not go forward. Malpractice insurance is already way way more than anything you can imagine having on an airplane hauling jumpers. It boils down to dollars. If the hospital cannot stay afloat, or very nearly, the next time there is is a questionable call, you are exactly right, they will think about this, about their mistakes and they wont take the risk. You are right, it will hold them accountable, but not quite how you think. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Freeflz, listen up. We have had this debate going peacefully for 1300 views. Your first post is inflamatory, as were your second and third. You make a point about Native Americans, a very valid one, but alas, pretty outdated. As for the Mexican issue, well Texas declared Independence, just like Mexico did from Spain. Mexico did not like it, we beat them fair and square, and have a little building down in ole' San Antone to show for it. Are you refering to illegal labor? ILLEGAL. You want to work under fair labor laws, you gotta make the government aware you exist. Come on, this is common sense. You are Mexican? I thought you were American. Gee...I see a bit of a seperatist attitude there. Like someone else said, the US is the melting pot, Melt already! FYI, my mother was the first generation on that side of my family to arrive in America and in now way do I consider myself a German-American I am sure they have been raised in other threads, and I agree with part of what you are saying. Why should you pay? Because the law says pay taxes and part of taxes go to welfare. We might not like it, then change the law. Which I would be in favor of. Boy, that is compassionate No, we broke it into seperate issues to address. Legality is one of them. Check any newspaper article on this situation and they will mention it. That is what we have been trying to say about the mother if she chooses to sue. Also, if she does, I think you will see a backlash in public opinion toward illegal immigrants and charity medical work in general. Why would a clinic risk its very existance to bend the rules and help someone who will sue them? True. But you dont have an automatic right to do here or on my dollar! My taxes go to American citizens or should. And if you want some of the bread basket, join the citizenship. I read in the paper today that this family illegally entered the country 3 years ago specifically to get medical care. Dont you think in 3 years they could have become citizens? If that they had, this might have been a hero story about overcoming adversity to join the "Land of the free" And your other post Would you feel bad for the 100 families who lose their little girls because the hospital is sued out of existence? Or is it really all about money and not about lives saved? You just lost all validity to speak on grounds of compassion. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Well said Bill. I agree with you this time. A newspaper article I read today made just that point. That if the lawsuit is successful it will set Duke Univ. Medical Center back on decades of succesful medical research....who all will that damage? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

It would be interesting to study the differences between those thriving and not. My guess would be those that for some sociopolitical reason have to integrate a lower class are struggling. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

I would agree with you if I thought that is really what was happening. As she mentioned before many other factors came into it including ethnicity, dependents, etc. Furthermore, you are erroneously overlooking that fact that cost of living is much much cheaper in Mexico. Additionally, the original objection was to an ILLEGAL poor person, not a poor US citizen. Using your logic, without alteration, all the people in Mexico would be getting healthcare before any US citizens. You want to raise them all to our standard of living? Then I laugh at you and you silly English kkknnnigggggiitttsss, for we have no entered the fantasy realm. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

I think it might be slightly off. But I bet in a cosmic mechanics sense, the difference of a day might only be a minute, if that. However, I was wondering if it will shift over time. But one could say "Well, that represents the way that our grieve and comfort within our fellow citizens has changed the event through healing" But I think the thought is what counts. And yes I have been wondring about base. Maybe with an American flag under canopy?

All depends on who administers it now doesn't it? As I pointed out earlier with my Germany example; many countries that have been praised for their advanced socialist solutions are getting hammered by the global economy, just like we are. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
