You can find it in Nuremberg Diary by Gustav M. Gilbert PhD. It was published in 1947 and is still in print. But quotes can be very easily applied. Who said this: Once you find out, would you you change your opinion of the quote? Would you suspect it came from someone that repeated history's mistakes? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

/me pokes head around/ Royal Blue, huh? Where do I sign up? Seriously, if there was any way to do this, jumpers would buy it. Just look at what people spend on stainless steel hardware. If the nickel component were as strong (and maybe as smooth to prevent wear) as stainless steel, there would not be much of a downside. Can you imagine a yellow rig with blue hardware or black with red hardware? Those would be tight. But then again I love seeing engine compartments that are nothing braided hose with anodized clamps. Oh and my Fat Boy is slowly have all screw heads capped with anodized blue button tops. So I might be biased

USPA Fights New Ban on Large Venue Demo Jumps

I mean it may be right or wrong, I have no idea....I do not know the details of the bill. I was just thinking outloud. If that is the case, I would think it is really up to the owners of the venue. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. -

Very true Wendy. But many people do neither. If all we had to do was convince people already helping others to expand their circle, I think that would be a molehill compared to what we face. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Perhaps, if everyone was more involved in charity and good will via their local church (or whatver their choice is) this would not be so much of an issue. In smaller communities years ago, I need never went beyond local assistance. I know it is much more complicated now. But I think the attitude has changed.... We cannot help everyone, due to sheer numbers. I would rather help those around me and the generousity will grow in widening circles. anyone seen pay it forward? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

USPA Fights New Ban on Large Venue Demo Jumps
flyingferret replied to NightJumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I dont know enough about the bill to decide who pushed it and who attached the riders. But if it turns out that the stadiums do not want demo jumps, then it is private property, right? If they do think demo jumps benefit their events, and I think they do, then they should help the USPA seek an exemption, right? I may be totally wrong, just thinking outloud. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. -

I agree totally. I think slinks are the way to go. I just wanted to brainstorm about affects of the fast falling slider on camera rigs. Camera gear always adds another variable. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Well, i see your point. But Dave paid taxes, he also got some back. Were they the same dollars he sent in? No. He put money into the pot, and he was one of the people who got a pay out from the pot. That does not change the fact that he put it in. If you play poker and win, do you say you did not contribute anything? Or that you won your investment back. Either way within one tax year Dave will be out of school and will be only getting 20% back. I agree it is symantics. unfortunately, this week with all the nuts weather here in Texas, I really have not had the time to look for links. You have a point...plus the thread has kinda diverged since the beginning. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Yes I am busy working on the forums....trim here, snip there. OH...you meant who is on the forums at work? OH Yeah, I do spend some time here. Helpdesk business is in spurts. Thanks Phree, that is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. What type of screw did you go to? I suppose that is a smart idea for line entanglement anyway. Rdutch, I ordered a Hornet, so as it stands, they come with stainless rapide. The decision to go was pased more on canopy performance, line wear, strength and getting the slider out of the way of the camera. But I wanted to make sure it did not introduce any effects I had not considered. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

By extension of that very statement, a non-citizen should not have any say either! QED! As for dave, you are arguing symantics, he paid taxes; the government simply decided he was of the percentage that should be helped and gave him a refund. He still paid them. If you disagree, look at his W-2s. And he does have w-2s, I will assume, because he had a job at a local eatery/bar earlier last year. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

It is 'legal' It is simply a matter of if they are approved by the manufacturer. It may be difficult to claim any warranty, etc if you used gear not approved by them. My understanding is that they simply have to give the approval. But like I said I am more interested in anything that might be particularly said in reference to camera setups and slinks, of course there may not be anything different? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Actually....most of us are 100% American. American is not a race! It is a culture, and in my opinion, if you live here you are by definition part of it. But some people just cannot accept that. They want to get the benefits, but sing praises about all the nostalgia of the old country. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
