  1. Anybody else think it's funny the web site was created by eOffshore? also from the site What's a "monor under 18?" illegible usually
  2. I tend to agree that this -may- have been a factor. I know I was just a little "off" on several jumps earlier in the week due to feeling a bit light headed at exit. illegible usually
  3. His name is John Flemming. This http://www.lightdiver.com/2003/030419.htm/ or http://www.parachutehistory.com/skydive/records/blind.html Might help you out. illegible usually
  4. It's mine. There were some very good visuals on that jump. It started with this... illegible usually
  5. I had the pleasure to jump with "Blind John" this weekend. The look on his face on the ride to altitude said everything. Even better was the look on his face after launching a beautiful 3-way base for a planned 12 way. There have been few times indeed that I have seen so much joy on a man's face. illegible usually
  6. I doubt you'll ever see a decrease in the cost of rebuilds on turbines. There just aren't that many parts suppliers or qualified mechanics. The airframe might get cheaper but the engines are what make it go, there's a reason why there are lots of decent airframes slowly rotting away around the country, it costs too damn much to make them fly. illegible usually
  7. Seems like some people have a problem saying "NO". If I don't want all that stuff, I just turn it off and walk outside. There are some people that I actually enjoy talking to... illegible usually
  8. Why feel guilty... See ya in Eugene! illegible usually
  9. I'd say the biggest advantage over a king air is one less engine. Those big noisy things on the front are sort of expensive to maintain. (annuals, rebuilds, etc) illegible usually
  10. I understand that. Really I do. However, my lovely wife is letting me go solo, and I would like to call my son. Work doesn't have my personal #, so I'm not worried about that. illegible usually
  11. Thanks! Could you send the next few of them full of beer and women? We'd sure appreciate it. illegible usually
  12. Ok, not entirely skydiving related but... LP's web site says limited cell coverage recently installed (cell one) Anybody been recently? Did your cell phone work? What kind of phone and who's your carrier? I am changing plans before I go (since my current plan sux) Just wanted some help in making sure I get one that "might" work there. Eric illegible usually
  13. rally school! always wanted to learn to drive like that. those wrc guys have to be the best all around drivers in the world... ice, snow, loose gravel, paved roads, no laps, all reflex. i could probably shave a few minutes off my commute with some of those skills! I DO drive like those guys...
  14. I agree this this is probably the case. Just a couple of guys with delusions. I do believe that (as in you example) there are people that know "they are out there" and make no attemp to bring them in, despite the fact that they are committing illegal acts. I don't think that these guys were getting orders from teh pentagon but the pentagon has now admitted that they did recieve at least one "prisoner" from this 'group'. Not that I think this is all bad, it's just an example of looking the other way when it's convenient. http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=ahoJUz1RD67o&refer=top_world_news illegible usually
  15. Together 10 years. Got married. Seperated in 5 days. Now want a divorce. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/22/international/americas/22cana.html I just thought this was funny. (and proof that gay marriage isn't really any different.) illegible usually
  16. As a TI, I do NOT like that. I want to be able to see who ever it is. If I can't see them, then the video is going to be weird as I do some odd turns to find them. I would agree with AggieDave here, off to the side of the tandem is a position I prefer, both I and the tandem instructor can see that person in that case Mostly the reason people come along with a tandem is because they know the passenger, they should be flying in a position where the passenger can actually see them. Iwan Of course sometimes it's just to get some shots fo the video flier. illegible usually
  17. Wonder how this will play out. The claim is that they were in contact with Rumsfeld. I thought these "secret mission" guys were supposed to deny everything. http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1090447813122&call_pageid=968332188854&col=968350060724 illegible usually
  18. Not entirely. Several differing studies have shown that criminals typically have very high self esteem. (I deserve XX but can't buy it so I'll steal it from the jerk that doesn't deserve it) Also many successful people have very low self esteem and push themselves to exceptional levels in a constant attempt to 'prove' themselves. Many work-a-holics have self esteem issues. They can be highly productive, even if they are self destructive. illegible usually
  19. I voted yes. I think we should show them how it should be done. Let 'em watch. (It's not like they ever actually DO anything) illegible usually
  20. Maybe not technically legal... source http://news.ft.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=FT.com/StoryFT/FullStory&c=StoryFT&cid=1087373852500 illegible usually
  21. I had a bag lock that was the direct result of having paid someone to pack. I was very happy to pay for my reserve repack and a bottle of "riggers choice". But then I was happy to just be alive. I did stop using that packer though... illegible usually
  22. Be carefull out there people. This guy wasn't so lucky http://www.katu.com/salem/story.asp?ID=69333 illegible usually
  23. The reserve PC still launches with the skyhook. The "hook" is located on the reserve bridal below the spring. If the reserve PC has higher drag than the main, the PC deploys the reserve. If the main has higher drag, the main deploys the reserve. illegible usually
