This was such a good time I need to share my favorite jump from the weekend. Cheeto (sp) organized a 12 way sequential composed of jumpers from both DZ’s with Andy Farrington flying video. The dive was good, built quickly and the transitions were smooth. We had the third planned point made by 6.5 and just held the smooth flying BFR for a few thousand feet. The BEST part of the jump was watching Andy FLY HIS ASS OFF! It was so cool watching him orbiting head down as we were turning points, popping back over the top to drop down into our little doughnut, flipping onto his back and playing with our little formation like a trained dolphin. I just can’t describe how freaking easy he made it look, and how totally cool it was to be a part of it. Thanks, Red Edit to add a photo of a different 12 way Kpow/Toledo BFR that I got to video. illegible usually

The Otter from K will definately be in Toledo this weekend, if it's not already there. I'm stuck at work right now but will be driving up as soon as I get out of here. Hope to see you there! Red illegible usually

The argument " he should resign his current position to run for X" just doesn't make sense. After all, If applied equally, Bush would have to hand everything over to Mr Halliburton to re-run for his job. He's spending at least as much time on the trial. illegible usually

Two DZ's actually get along. The great people of Kapowsin (who are in the process of getting screwed) have worked out a WIN-WIN deal to fly their Otter and jumpers out of our DZ www.skydivetoledo.com this weekend. I don't know or care about the business end of how this was all worked out, I just think it's great to see this work out (and I can't wait to get to know some of the Kapow folks better) Red illegible usually

Still a lame reason to get a transmission that steals power, gas milage and decreases the overall life of the engine. So you might have to replace the clutch a few thousand miles early. Most clutches (even when mistreated) will last for over 80,000 miles and it really isn't that much to replace a clutch. I abuse the SH** out of everything I drive and I've had far fewer problems with standard. illegible usually

Skydive Toledo will be hosting the Otter and jumpers from Kapowsin this weekend. Ain't it nice to see folks getting along to help each other out! Come on out and see the friendliest DZ in the NW combined with the biggest fastest Otter. It's going to be FUN! illegible usually

Things seem pretty heated on the SC, so...

OK what about this one? Anybody know WTF this is? illegible usually -
I don't see your point. Yes, someone with a bomb in their breifcase could do a lot of damage on a train/subway/buss but so could someone with a carbomb. Should we start having the cops conduct random searches of cars because someone might have a car bomb. How about searching people entering a shopping mall? I think we are pretty damn close to the slippery slope here, better be carefull what liberties you are willing to give up on. Edited to add: How pissed off are you going to be whenthe subway cop pops your reserve to see what you are hiding in there? illegible usually

OK bump on an old thread: Disclaimer:I don't like country music. I was popping through the radion stations and I hear.. skyyyyyydivinnnnnn....(with a twang) I think "huh, did Aggie Dave get a night job?" Then I listen to the rest of the song. I thought it was really lame but he did put skydiving on his top three list of things to do before he died. DZ.Com answers another question illegible usually

JVC DX75 and 2kInnovations FF2 Helmet
EricTheRed replied to fenceline's topic in Photography and Video
Listen to this advise. You will be $$$ ahead if you just but your Sony now. I tried to use a JVC and after it broke the third time finally got a Sony. The JVC works great on the ground - even though the video quality isn't as good as the Sony - but they DON'T LAST in the air. illegible usually -
Yep. Once the rainy season kick in it's pretty easy to shed the tourists! It's absolutely beautiful from July through September. During the rest of the year it can be pretty grey and damp. (at least that's what we like to tell everyone - wouldn't want the whole US to move up here) illegible usually

I recently tried one of the Sony HG lenses and it was a good match but it was only a 0.6x and it was HUGE. If you hear of something, let us know... illegible usually

Thanks, I have a crap commute but I do live in a small chuck of paradise. If you (or anyone here) are visiting the NW feel free to drop me a PM, I'd be happy to share a cold one with you. Here's the view looking east. (Mt Hood) This shot was taken last winter just after the first snow. illegible usually

As Quade said above PS is good for more than just frame grabs. Although you may think most of your stuff will go to interlaced equip, if you make DVD's that are played back on HD ready monitors (much more common everyday) there is a very visible difference. Slow motion is also much cleaner. The PC330 does do a full 16:9 (not a 4:3) with matte) since it has a 3 MP CCD for the stills, it doesn't need to crop the image. As stated though WS is not widely used (yet) BUT the image from my 330 on a HD widescreen monitor is very NICE! not HD but definately a step above interlaced 4:3 (cropped or not) The only drawback to this camera is it shows the flaws in the optics of my Kenko WA lens. I guess I need to find a better WA. illegible usually

Real, no filters and best of all - I took that shot off my back deck! It's a still capture (not from video) using my PC330. It is Mt St Helens. illegible usually

husband and wife jumping together
EricTheRed replied to rickjump1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My wife and I do this quite often. I'm OK with it. So is she. Our son is 2 and it would really suck for him to lose either of us, and especially both but: We drive together, fly together and jump together. We have plans if the worst should ever happen but we're damn careful to not let it happen. Bottom line, it's their choice. If you don't like it - don't watch their child. Have someone else babysit. illegible usually -
That's what they all say... Never seen ONE case where someone caught trying to sell stolen property admited to knowing it was hot. Glad to hear the rig's going home though illegible usually

Is this bonus question too hard for 6th graders?

I like it. Pretty easy IF you are intuitive and know the basic formulas for area That pie R square. illegible usually -

I'd say it's OK. Good application of basic fractions to real world problems. Doesn't really take a whole lot of math, just reasoning IMO illegible usually -
I don't have any exp with the Dig.Rebel but I have owned and used multiple Cannon cams. Every single one that I have ever used can behave like this. Good cameras in general but you'd figure they would be smart enough to find a better battery life indicator system. illegible usually
