    Thanks. I think it's really nice to be going back to work but I was just starting to enjoy having so much free time! It's a good thing that WA has the best un-employment payout in the US right now tho or I wouldn't have been able to keep up with my jump bill.

    It's about time but it looks like I'm now about to be re-employed. Don't know if I should celebrate or mourn but at least I'll have $$ for a new rig for X-mas. More details to come pending the outcome of the offer/counter-offer dance but it looks like the job will involve quite a bit of travel so... If you live near Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, LA, SF, New England or just about anywhere else with a population of >500,000 consider this your warning.     Ditto - I got my canopy back in less than 2 weeks and it was sent out while "everyone" was at Rantoul. I'd send mine back to Precision again for sure. Red illegible usually

    Thanks for the feedback. It's a work in progress for sure! We are a very friendly very laid back DZ. We welcome everybody! Right now all we have is 1 C182 and a nice Beech 18. The Beech isn't flying since 1/2 of our runway is under construction and organizing is normally very unorganized. (in a good way) Really, the only bad thing about it is the NW weather and no turbine aircraft. I'll forward your input to our pilot/web admin. I'm sure he'll apreciate it. Red illegible usually

    It went well I think. The hiring manager was a former co-worker of mine who I had trained when she was right out of college. Good: flexible schedule and can telecommute two days a week Bad: About 25K/year less than my old consulting job and I can't telecommute from the DZ Thanks for the thoughts everyone. illegible usually

    It was a cow. No horns but she did have a calf. There were a couple of calves in the herd and I think they were being protective. Fortunately, Flipper used to ride rodeo bulls and helped out. Still I was the primary target and I was ready to ditch my gear and sprint to the fence. Went home and had a nice big steak, just for revenge (it's nice to be at the top of the food chain!) illegible usually

    Friday had a great jump with a couple of friends, nailed the dive. Was feeling great - good opening and look around. Shit, flipper has a cutaway. Since he's relatively new - now on a round - and pretty obviously NOT going to make the DZ, I followed him in. He did GREAT, almost stood up the landing in a field just off the airport that was FULL OF COWS! Normally not a big deal but these cows were PISSED. One in particular was snorting, jumping and pawing dirt, and trying to stampede ME! I know I could get hurt skydiving but I sure as F*K don't want my obit to read "stomped by angry heffer" All turned out ok - final total was 1-case for first reserve ride for flipper 1-bottle JD for the rigger 1-case of beer for losing the reserve handle 1-very stinky jumpsuit (he said it was cow shit but who knows) Overall a geat story but that cow had me on the run for a while. illegible usually
