I have thought for a long time that the government really should not recognize "marriage" as Marriage has always been a religious institution. You should be able to "marry" anyone your priest/rabbi/mullah/witch doctor agrees to. What the government should do is recognise cival contracts. You want "till death do us part"? Great. Put it in writing. You want "for the next ten years, with a contract to renew" Fine. You want, "Until the kids are out of college" Super. illegible usually

I just think it's kinda funny. The title for this Post is Bush/Cary (sic) 1) You probably meant to type Kerry 2) You post mentions Bush and Clinton. Last time I looked, Bill and John were not the same person. What is with all the GOP fanatics that can't seem to seperate the person from the party. Every D is not Bill Clinton Every R is not Reagan. Bill Clinton is no longer in office. Is not running for office this year *(or ever, most likely) illegible usually

From the bombardier web site I'm guessing a half dozen motivated jumpers could remove the seats quicker than this! illegible usually

I've actually been thinking about the feasibility of usign a DASH8 for a jumpship for some time. I saw some a while back (when I was BS'ing with some guys about it) for sale in the ball park of $2 mil. That's about the time the lottery was over 190 million. - I figured if I won, I could surely afford to drop a couple mil on a jumpship - and who cares if it only went up 1/2 full (30 way)

Background: My Miata has a few more than 200,000 miles on it. Knowing that it’s mostly been driven hard, I have had a 2nd engine prepared and was planning to make the swap. Due to time constraints (I’d rather be jumping right now, instead of wrestling around with my car) it looks like I’ll be procrastinating for a bit. Question #1: Should I drive this car to Lost Prairie (someone else will be carrying my gear) with the current engine? (Roughly 600 miles) Question #2: Assuming I postpone the swap, what should I do to keep the freshly rebuilt engine in good condition until it’s needed? Thanks, Red illegible usually

That might help. There are a lot of different ways to increase your fall rate. Lead should be the last thing that you try as it can increase your risk of injury when you have an awkward landing. I would recommend trying a tighter jumpsuit, bringing your arms and elbows in, arching harder and stretching during the week to improve your ability to arch. If all of these fail, try weights but I've seen a lot of light people that can fall FAST if they have proper gear and body position. illegible usually

absolutely agree. This works at any age though, it just becomes tougher as they learn more refined ways of manipulation. The key as you know (and so many others can't grasp) is consistancy. Reward behavior you want more of. Do not reward behavior you don't like. Ignoring bahavior leads to extinction of the behavior. The brat in question has apparently learned that if he screams loud enough, long enough, he will get what he wants. Spanking is not the answer, as this will teach him that you get your way through force. (If you want something, beat someone up) Ignoring his screams EVERY TIME will work. (eventually) Till then, buy some ear plugs. illegible usually -

Log homes settle. All wood shrinks as it cures, logs more so. All windows, doors, cabinets and anything attached to the walls needs to be designed to take this into account. If you have the raw wood inside, you will have to dust your walls. You need to make sure that you really think about where you want you plumbing and electrical to be because once it's in it is a reall PITA to change (remodeling a log home is tougher than a stick framed house) They look great but cost way more than a comparable stick house. illegible usually

same game. What's a buck anyway - sure you won't win but won't you feel bad when some schmuck (read non-skydiver) wins this and doesn't have a proper clue of what to do with all the $$$. illegible usually

Actually several other camera 'work'. The issue has generally been "how long?" they work I used a JVC for a while, and it worked, but would require periodic repair to keep it working. Good luck w/ the cannon. illegible usually

With DV the real problem with shooting at slower tape speeds comes from increased risk of 'drop-outs' All tape flakes and deteriorates over time, the denser the data is packed, the more likely that your information will be lost when the chunk of magnetic coating falls off. In DV this shows up as a chunk of pixels that look 'stuck' or missing. If you don't archive, and you don't reuse tapes, LP will work OK. It's after you play the tape back a few times or after leaving it on a shelf for a few years that the differences will be most apparent. illegible usually

Whether you like the guy or not you are definitely showing your ass. One day he said 'this is a good idea' A little while later he states 'I don't think this is a good idea' Whether he actually had influence in either instance is irrelevant to the fact that his stated opinion changed. Personally, I think any rational being changes his mind quite often, based on external factors that they have no control over. The whole fixation with "flip-flipping" is asinine. illegible usually
