Sometimes I get the impression that he fires the LESS-WEAK person if there are two people showing mistakes. For some reason, it seems (to me) just like TRUMPHs nature. That way, he would be almost sure that the weaker person will probably get booted in the next few episodes because they're clumsy. This has happened on like three episodes thus far.

How much honesty do you like in a relationship?
Vertifly replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
"Brutal" just sounds too derogatory for me. So does the word "relationship" at the moment. On a serious note... Let's just say I think that if you can't be proud and honest about all things the things in your world, maybe being in a relationship isn't the best thing for you. Any takers? -
Having a working parachute 1800 times in a row isn't the safest mindset to proceed with - I think. In several ways, you would probably agree, that a MAL would be good experience to have. Things have been pretty clean for me aside from an unstowed break (by my foot headdown in freefall) and once after opening. Enough to freak me out; but not enough to call a malfunction. Handling a problem isn't what I am worried about. It is the experience of having something over my head that I know, FOR SURE, I CAN'T land, then finding one that I can. I still dirt dive malfunctions quite often and always will. Whether you have had a mal or not, this should be standard practice. Thanks a lot for the confidence booster Bill!

I reached 1800 at the end of last season and haven't had a cutaway so far. The 'MAL'-bug is knocking at my conscious though. As we begin downsizing, paying for packing, and doing back-to-back loading...isn't it just a matter of time. I hope that I can be one of the few people to say that I reached 2Gs without one.

That's a great formation - symmetrical, heads on level, and VERY clean looking!! Now you've got me JONESing for a kick-ass skydive. Pretty soon, it's big ways in Chicago. Yum Yum Who took the pic? - It is a nice angle too!

Ethics and the Mini Profile? If you Spot Bogus #'s

Hey, when was the last time you jumped? You could be up to 1730 by now. -
I really don't know what "Isolated Thunderstorms" mean in Texas. Here in Jersey I have learned that this simply means... "Get your ass to the DZ, the weatherman has no F'n clue what he's talking about!" or "Hey!, isn't that a pretty storm cloud passing by about 30 miles away from here. The sun is usually out when we get a prediction like this.

Nothing like some cool-ass movie links to set you off while at work. And it is just starting to get warm out today.

Where's the USPA when you really need them?
Vertifly replied to steve1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, they put out a pretty good magazine and send me a sticker every year (unfortunately, it is the SAME sticker every year). -
Boromir says, "hmm...they have a cave-_______".

Welcome, fellow jumpaholic. Denying that we have a problem is the first step. Welcome to the forums and SKYDIVING.

Tunnel In NJ Looking for Update
Vertifly replied to storm1977's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Here is the home page for the company who is starting this whole thing: http://www.xarenasports.com/ Dude, on the updates for this - not to worry. If any progress is made on the site of the tunnel, I will be posting it here. The location is near my house. I drive by there about twice a week. Like someone already said, right now, it is a field of gravel, surrounded by a chain-link fence, surrounded by the epitome of Trenton NJ. You'd like it; it is a lovely backdrop of crack/herion-central. There are usually a few trucks and workers in the gravel yard doing something. Who knows?, but they are there almost everyday. While driving by, I've tried to read the company logo on the trucks, but it is difficult to see from the highway. Often times, there are metal barrels (an archetype of NJ) resembling that of a toxic waste dump. LOL Hey, you never know, if we grow extra limbs we can try some new freefly moves at the tunnel; that is - if it every gets finished! Here are the site pics but these are old (from like 8 months ago): http://www.xarenasports.com/sitepics.html However, like I said ... If anything physical occurs - as far as them actually building something - I will post it here. No worries on that. http://www.xarenasports.com/Groundbreaking/Times5_18_03.html -
might as well formally introduce myself
Vertifly replied to BGill's topic in Introductions and Greets
It was laaate one night; early in the season (around June I think). Just hangin around. Please don't feel like I'm singling you out. Most people who were in my camper last season were having their fun. It's standard practice bro; I had to break the trailer in the right way. X-KEYS style!! heheh -

Dumbest thing you did skydiving
Vertifly replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
***If you have deployed your pilot chute, then whatever you end up with (PC in tow) must be treated as a partial malfunction and you need to cutaway before pulling your reserve. The only time you go straight for your reserve is in the event of a total malfunction.*** hmmmmm....let's ask McGowan his current philosophy on this situation. I remember some pretty good advice from him on this - a few years back. That's right Mike, I was listening cause I know that you've been through this a few times. And the demon's were sleeping that day. -

About 4 jumps without cocking a pilot-chute. A.K.A. Collapsible Dave here! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It eventually cocked itself and inflated on each jump. It wasn't until about the fourth jump that I noticed a looooong delay. When I reached the ground, I simply asked my old AFF instructor - who I was renting the gear from that day, Me: "Uhm, Mike, can I ask you something? I'm kinda noticing a delay up there. I pitch and then it takes a few seconds for the canopy to come out. Do you know why this might be happening?" Mike Hagar: "Are you cocking the pilot chute?" Me: "How do you "COCK" a chute? What does it mean?" DDDDDDoooooooooooohhhh!! -
Boogies / Events you are planning this year?
Vertifly replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It's the first weekend in May. Should be a blast, last year was pretty good. All I can keep thinking of is swooping into Tray's backyard and cooking up the venison right there. yum yum -
