No advice, but a few Qs : Were you busted in one of your post-sunrise jumps ? Did the law wait for you to jump or did they pull you over once you were in your vehicle leaving ? What (if anything) did you say/admit to ? What was the cops initial resposne ? Did you firefighter card do anything ?

you talk of ebay as if it was a person - by the time your message gets filtered to a real being (i.e. seeps down through the beurocratic red tape), chances are their "advanced fraud prevention system" has already removed the item. geez. P.S. The orange G4 with Student Cypres was originally listed on eBay by a legit seller about 6 months ago. Alwasy wondered who the hell would want an ALL ORANGE container.

I call BS. I have taken a BASE canopy to full terminal with both fine mesh and LARGE mesh sliders and 32" non collapsible PC. I rolled the piss out of the nose cells (3 to each side, center wrap around the packjob). I have to say my original Sabre has slammed me harder than the Troll taken to terminal.

there are quite a few deals on eBay for body+lens for $599 - both refurbs and NEW. And yes, they are legit. and at the time of this post Dell has the XT (Body only) for $594 with a 15% coupon XP8$0?PPHS6WW? AND you can get a (i think) $45 off coupon on eBay for 99 cents. paying retail is so not cool :)

Very. I think the easiest way would be to get your skydiving licenses in Germany, and then try to work in under the "foreign skydiver using equipment from home" exemptions. If I recall correctly, most of the BASE rigs on the market have passed the German equivalent of the TSO process. Last time we tried to "make sense of FAA regs" (I know, oxymoron), a skydiver could not be a US citizen or a resident alient (read: permanent resident aka green card), AND the H/C system could not be US made.

For what its worth he bought something from me on eBay (completely parachute un-related transaction) about 2 years back. When I saw the name I just had to ask. He claimed no BASE jumps in the last 5 years or so, and occasional skydives from buddies airplane at a private airport. That was the only co-interraction I ever had with him. I do believe he was still in TX.

it's funny you post that today. I broke my fib in mid Apr - I have been walking for past 6 weeks - and made 2 jumps today. A "currency" jump from a balloon :) and a wingsuit skydive. And I decided that I need at least another month off in order to not re-injure myself. I know that's nothing compared to what you are going through, but still sucks :(

peeps - that ia first grade scam - if a deal is too good to be true - it is. a good indicator of that is somebody saying "DO NOT CONTACT ME THROUGH EBAY, use (some free email address) instead". Don't be stpid about it, nobody gives shit away. I understand he/she has over 1000 feedbacks - but try to message them through eBay - see what happens. My money is on hijacked account Also how come a US registered seller wants GBP as payment ? cmon .....

I have a 30D - and I have an old Conceptus tongue switch with a 2.5mm plug- that obviously does not work since 30D is a new 3 pin stereo plug - looking at the websites of all the big boys - everybody seems to have mono plugs only - can somebody steer me in the right direction please ? Willing to trade as well :) P.S. I really don't feel like chopping the cable and putting a proper plug on, I know that is alwasy an option

Depending on the model of your DVD player it could be dual format - and capable of reading PAL - in which case the sound would be fine, but the image would skip on the TV. Also you could have a player that can convert on the fly - but is just pretty bad at it. Just my 2 cents Google your players model number and the word PAL - you might get your answer

Jason, I can provide the few el cheapo (mid range P3 ) systems if you decide to go that route (by provide I don't mean sell). Might be just easier than having to mess with dumb terminals and set everything up.. Otherwise - Win 2003 server with terminal services is what I think too. peace -
I believe you. And I am agreeing with RayLosli - a BASE jump is still a BASE jump. A bridge affords you lots of leaway and room to fuckup - but remeber the 1st rule - DON'T BOUNCE - and make sure you prioratize accordingly. Personally I don't think it's acceptable to not have enough muscle memory for a proper PC reach and throw. Your textbook exit and aerials don't mean shit if you don't pull.

huh ? How can the bridle stay in the BOC if during a proper packing method (which people indicate was used ) the bridle is routed ( from the bottom pin/shrivel flap) - pin - bridle protector ( or just tucked in) - towards the bottom of the BOC - in the mesh of the folded PC. ok this kind of answers it - if the bridle was barely folded/stuffed in the mesh, and nowhere near the cap/handle - one can hypothesize that a VERY WEAK pitch where one just barely grips the outer material of the PC and lazily places it away from their body can in fact leave the rest of the bridle in the BOC. Don't think I have ever seen anybody be lazy with a PC toss on a BASE jump.... But who knows, the Perrine regulars would be much better people ot comment on that.

Gonna be in Orlando, FL June 13th -18th. Just got off the crutches, so can't jump yet, but will be honored to groundcrew a jump or two or just hang out. I have baggage (my wife:), so won't have much free time during the day anybody ? peace

Why do you think so many people do unpacked jumps there, silly ? You didn't think it's because they are lazy, did ya ? It's cuz otherwise there are long lines for the packing area :)

That would be ideal. I wonder if I can get some software for my PC to recieve faxes. It has a modem in it that's not being used. I kind of like broke's idea with the black construction paper and tape though. I could even write a nice note in white out on it and let it run all day. My ass cheek healed up just fine by the way. How's your fib? You walking yet? you setup a regular old (cheap) PC with a fax modem and software like WinFaxPro ( I am sure there are better ones). Just have it receive faxes, you will be able to view them in proprietory format, print, and export to PDF. While at it, you can also use the same system for voicemail. I say $70 bucks and 2 hours of work - and you will save a shitload of paper and aggravation. I am not walking yet - but moving around using crutches. July i will be back in the sky. But I still remember that ass Tony.

Get a computer based fax server. So all your faxes are received on a PC, and then you can print them out on a laser - cuz I bet you don't need 60% of what you get on paper - and this also works great for storing them and saving ink/paper. Keep your fax machine for sending. P.S. How's your ass ?

Sunset at 8.04PM their local time. Not knowing the remoteness of the object and any other details I will dare to speculate that jumping it at night would of solved all the problems.

As far as I understand Apex will excahnge sizes for you as long as they are not worn and you pay shipping. I suggest trying to find somebody pseudo-local who has HangWags and try 'em. Might give you a chance to jump a new object as well :) Mine are size 44 UK and I am size 10 US.
