    New fashion :)))

Not an option if you are trying to get away in a hurry, unless you have B12's. I would hate to be busted just because I wanted to be fashionable. Not that I would ever want to put myself in such situation, but that is the main reason I have not worn tracking pants on a few high jumps - I didn't want to deal with having to keep the rig on as the procedure called for land, stash, hide (the gear) , getaway, pickup later
  2. I was the only one who saw the accident from the ground, as I have just landed and was running for the camera. What exact specifics do people want to know ? Personally I felt like shit and still do about the whole thing. I don't want to get into details, but what happened was absolutely not Toms or anybody elses fault. Using a Raven 3 with an exit weight of over 200 and being completely uncurrent as well as ( SPECULATION ) non-customized DBS are main factors in my mind. I really don't feel like saying more than I have to, so if people have questions - please go ahead. One more thing, if anything, Tom was very supportive of our small group who asked him to help us make that jump, cuz as he said, we were pretty determined to go at it. Though, in all honesty, the agreement between us has been that if there are no experienced jumpers there to help us, we would walk away. Tom also was the one whos volunteered to be left behind while myself and another jumper had to scramble to find the payphone as none of our 3-4 cellphones worked there... ...

  5. married Aug 28th, 04 - still thinking about it :) here's me and my woman
  6. selling on ebay is my fulltime job ( 8754 feedbacks and counting ) , and people LOOOOVE to generalize based on one single transaction. That said - there's lots and lots of scam artists out there. As long as it doesn't look too good to be true, and you can pay by paypal using your CC - no reason not to buy - chragebacks based on the fact that you never got your product get awarded to the buyer 100% of the time. and you got way over the 30 days that paypal gives ya. PM me if you want more details, I deal with this every day ( not chargebacks, but ebay/paypal ) peace.
  7. Ok, I will bite. Please don't take this as a personal attack ... Rainy Daze : while a good edit, at $40 USD I thought it was highly overpriced. I also thought that @ ~~ 40 min the video was quite over-advertised - kinda like when they show you 2 really kick ass scenes from a movie in a preview, and then you find out that those are the only good scenes in the whole movie . Standard Video - same as before, but again, in IMHO - OVERADVERTISED, I expected more solely based on what was advertised. Granted you had a good reason not to include the "fiasco at the small S" but what about : Quote from your site : Triax employed no less than seven different camera operators during the event; Filming from the crane basket, from angles on both sides of the exit ramp, two angles from the landing area, and roaming cameras EVERYWHERE insures that you are likely to see your jump(s) from more than one angle. Really ? Jumps from different angles ? I saw less then a dozen jumps filmed from different angles. Mostly Red Bull, the Triax staff and a few jumps that did look really solid and good. Of course the terrified girl on the exit ramp was priceless :) Otherwise - most jumps were - jump from the basket, landing area - gone. Some were out of order with exit/landing. Not much footage after ~~ 1.15 PM - I am sure due to weather going to the crapper - but jumps WERE made - I think you could of extended a bit more effort to film them - though I do understand that there might of been concerns I do not know about. Safety first, right ? Done rambling - sorry if it was not what other people thought, but opinions are like xxxxxxx's :) peace
  8. not much but....we're talking ultra low static line here, around the 110ft mark (maybe even lower).2 feet of bridle, whether a regular bridle attached 2 feet from the pins/flap or a specifically constructed one i alluded to earlier will indeed put your canopy closer to the object. What you have to weigh up is if that is a greater risk than losing say 7ft of your 110ft in altitude. On the one hand a potential snag with the object, on the other a very real appointment with the hard ground. These are the kind of dilemmas and decisions which really get the blood pumping don't you think? ian Ok, I see what you are saying. But why not : install some kind of trap on the bridle very close to where it comes out of the container ( a knot is what i was thinking but i am guessing it can move a bit down ) - hook your SL into it, stretch the rest of the bridle so instead of hanging down, it's above you ( if possible ) or behind you, stretched out ( again if possible ). Rubberbanding it or masking taping parts of it in the appropriate locations would make it more snag proof as well as make the PC "engage" above or level with exit point vs. below it now what am i missing ?
  9. 102ft - TARD from a span - minimal canopy snag factor ( roaddeck) ? 88 ft - DBAG from what looks like severely overhung cliff over wet sand 63 ft - I am not sure what the deploymenth method was, perhaps Jason can fill us in. All in all, I am still interested in rehashing my original question of SL hooked to the very beginning of the bridle and the effect it may have on the canopy pressurizing pretty much next to the object. In one post NickDG said something to the effect of "jumping an underhung tower has one good thing : if you have a 180 you don't build enough forward speed to smack it hard" - perhaps that is also true of a SL attached to the beginning of the bridle ( provided bottom skin inlets are present ) Sorry I am i am rambling. I definitely don't have much experience, but this thread caught my attention.
  10. Unless I missed it : a 2 ft bridle ??? That would mean your canopy is 2ft MAX from the object - is the fact that you can be 4-5 or even more feet away with a good push, thus having less chance of a snag ( think underhung 3 legged freestander or a balcony jump with more balconies underneath ) not important enough ? sorry for the run-on sentence... What am I missing here ?
  11. perhaps you meant LAWYER ? ( unless that was a joke I didn't get ) funny how making fun of ones spelling backfires - you misspelled layer, and i misspelled lawEYr :) peace
  12. I only see one benefit of this camera.. With a mechanical recorders all of us use, any hard opening ( say BASE slider down ) gets very messy on tape, with solid state media, it should be very consistant. otherwise - $649 for a tapeless camcorder that gives less quality and less recording time than a $300 used TRV22 from ebay ??? cmon......
  13. Perrine Bridge, IDAHO Sunset - OHIO Sunset - Key West - I hung a 20x30 of that on my wall
  14. funny thing - I just sent Jason an email saying I am game for $500. But hell, if it's $1000 that makes it, and we are sure that we have enough people involved - I can do $1000. I clocked myself doing a drive from my place to Fay in 4:20 flat last time - weird, huh ?
  15. not to turn this into a prostack vs propack debate, but I find that I have a lot more control when flat stacking, also my biggest problem is when I lay the propack down, no matter how neat it is, tiding it up makes it feel like i am just correcting a bad prostack.. make sense anyone ?

    Costa Rica

How's the jumping ( or possiblity of ) in Costa Rica ? Going to be there Apr 6-13 - hoping to get some info. thanks in advance.
  17. I was in Italy in Sept - I don't think you need more than 1 day for Pompei. Personally, everywhere we have been there was AWESOME. PICS
  18. Thanksgiving, from a bridge, it was pitch black 10 minutes after we landed. Oh yeah, didn't have to pay for a liftticket, nor for a ride back.
  19. I take CC's all the time, and when I have to verify them, from the info I gathered CVV2 is never given out, and they cannot do anything but VERIFY it if against what you give them. A widespread merchant database hack - I am sure you would of already gotte a notice from the issuing bank or it would of been already posted on the WWW. My guess - you used the CC at a restaurant or another place where somebody could see it, but you couldn't see them. This would mean that the thief could easily write all the necessary info down. The fact that the IP is somewhat local to you supports that.
  20. I know that the D-Bag that I have has a strap that you should anchor to something solid for "just in case" ( the holder drops it ). I guess it could work both ways.
  21. Hey, when I get cancer from sucking second hand smoke in places of public use, will the smokers unite to pay for my treatment ? I was at the motorcycle show this weekend, clear HUGE signs "NO SMOKING INSIDE" - a guy is standing in the middle sucking on a cig me : Hey man, there's no smoking inside, signs all over the place him : It's fine ( makes a grin, another puff ) me : Bro, neither me nor my wife want to be inhaling this shit him : whatever yeah, I have seen this plenty, smokers do unite. I don't want to generalize but FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND OBSERVATION smokers tend to be inconsiderate and always blame it on being discriminated. Hey, next time my breath smells like ass, don't turn your head when I am talking to you...

    Sprint PCS sucks

I got rid of voicemail 2 years ago - I was annoyed by most getting hangup messages and morons leaving me "it's me, call me back" no matter how many times I told them to use the numeric paging option. I had a few delayed VMs, but dunno what has been hapenning for the last 2 years. THe web based SMSs seem to be almost instant though... try calling Sprint, I am sure they are the ones who can get you the best answer.
  23. oh yeah : this is very informative : http://www.sprintpcsinfo.com/
  24. what you are asking about is their "retention" plans. You need to talk to cancellations and let them know you need a better deal to stay - let them know what you found etc.. I got 1000 anytime/free pcs to pcs/8pm nights/free LD KEPT my FIRST INCOMING MINUTE FREE - that saves me and my wife ~~ 500 mins a month 2 phones - $85/mo
