video as promised I took it easy and didn't rip at full DV - it would of been 150 megs. Most of crap/fuzz is due to low size of capture... now that landing on the other hand ...

simple : USE LANC REC switch while camera is in VCR mode not-so-simple : put the camera in VCR mode, g one of the menu pages has "REC CONTROL" - go there - hit the red REC button. Basically same as when hotwiring both cameras. ( sorry, don't have the cam in front of me, but it's fairly simple ). just to make sure, DCR-TRV22, not the old HI8 brick, right ? I can post a few pics if anybody wants. Overall I am looking for a a few things to improve in the setup, and if anybody got hot tips or suggestions I would love to hear them. my first one is splicing and dicing so the whole mess of cables is one neat slightly lower AWG cable.

to echo what 428 said. I use the rfconcepts pack4 setup - 420 TV Lines, and the quality is excellent. I use a 2.9mm lens which gives me 130deg FOV. I use my TRV22 to record, and yes, it does record to tape - the cam has a regular RCA video and MONO output ( analog ) - so the only catch is making sure you are not using one of the scaled down camcorders which has the phyiscal RCA out, but can only be used to OUTPUT analog, but doesn't let you RECORD From analog source. As far as cabling, pretty much same setup as 428, except for I mated both bulletcam feed line and microphone ( different wires ) together, and when I put the bulletcam on the helmet, I have the mic so it just hangs ( ~~ 2 inches ) from the front of my shirt. IF I go lefthandmount, I have the mic in my left sleeve - works great. I will post a vid when i get a chance. and yet another echo to Jasons post - I have bumped my on/off ( or rather VCR/off/CAM/MEM ) switch on the TRV22 a few times climbing over things, so now I just use a piece of vynil tape to secure the switch. I use cam-eye sport to control record function ( via LANC obviously ) ditto on the choice of batteries, the 8xAA (non-rechargables) is for people who like to masturbate way too often, single 12V element is alot more productive.

I use that same one - works well, I just have the head of the remote sticking out of my fag bag ( fanny pack ) - i can always hide it as soon as it's time to go.

I got 2252 with 2 jumpers on the order...

shot at Perrine Bridge, last week.

I haven't had a problem. I had it in a stash bag, and one time even had the hook knife on it. Not a question. In fact I think my laptop was scrutinized more than my rig.

I jumped with a dude who has one of the first DPs produced. I believe he said it's an off-shoot of Warlock. I know that the pin cover flap tucks into the topflap ( like on a Merlin ), and I BELIEVE that the riser covers open up from the inside out. It does have open corners.

3 of us gonna be driving back to Twin from Moab on Sat, wondering if SLC locals can hook us up with a jump or two. Please call Paul 216-374-7285 or Mark 208-320-2070 Thanks ! P.S. Mark puts out :)

since we both jump at AE, check out my bulletcam next time we are both around. Especially the quality of the vids - it's almost the same as the real DV camcorders, and I would guess it's almost the same amount of steps to hook it up...

Leave it. just don't be shy to slap people who get off-topic. When something technical is being discussed, it really sucks to have somebody break your concentration. In short - make sure the threads don't deteriorate, perhaps split the threads, but let the forum be.

I got pack 4, and put 2.9mm lens on it. it works well. the low light performance is MUCH better than my TRV22. Also, I got the sport LANC, this way I don't need a cameye - I just turn the camera on when needed, and connect the bulletcam right before I start using it ( the battery pack stays connected ) this is a REALLY GOOD THREAD : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1428843;#1428843

funny thing you ask. I have made 2 BASE jumps and 4 skydives with the slighly modded rfconcepts.co.uk setup. ( handmount velcroed to my left hand ), my DZO had no issues with it, and my GC didn't ask any Q's.

not exactly the point, but when I lost my tailgate, I got through just fine using paper tape as high on the lines as possible.... on a funny note - Your truck has a tailgate in the console area ? WTF ?

Just buy the linkity-link and then sell 100yd lengths on ebay or on dz.com classifieds :)

lotsa free time, eh ?

I have NOT jumped a BJ, but I did jump a FUK ( I mean FLIK ) 5 line, and loaded a 293 @ .69 - on the last jump I made with that canopy I made sure to play with stall points and see if I can just sink the canopy in - I felt rather comfortable doing that. I also have flown a Troll 265 MDV 5 line on the same day and I would say by comparison I felt that the Flik was a bit slower.... just another opinion ...

yeah, happy Bday(s). Never met Skin - but I bet he's one funny ( maybe looking as well ) dude to be around. Did sped a w-end with TomA and his FJC - muchas gracias once again.

*** if you have any questions about any of the helmets or my bulletcam setup and my experiences with them, I'll gladly answer them I a bit off-topic - your bulletcam is mounted on your helment pretty sturdily - yet you seem to also have video of it being handmounted - are you really putting all that work into mounting and realligning the cam on your helmet after every time you put it on your hand ? Or do you just use alternate between 2 different bulletcams with the same accessory pack ? Also - I assume that you just taped the cable(s) all the way down to where the helmet ends to less snag potentintial. --------------------------------------------------- On a helmet note - I would like to thank my half-shell protec that was on my head when I decided to do a totally uncalled for 180 after 7 seconds of canopy flight on a 220ft SL. And would like to kick my own ass for not wearing elbow pads.

well, waking up this old thread : I got the RF concepts kit as well. I rigged up a hand mount, and put one jump on it so far. Too bad I salvaged all the available AA batteries I had laying around, so the battery pack gave up about 5 mins before exit - got nice sound though.. ( I got the 10 pack and rechargable AA's on the way ) A few questions for the ones that already have experience using this setup in the field : how'd ya rig your handmounts ? I used as set of motorcycle gloves that has the top just like female velcro. One you stick a bottom of the bulletcam ( which I have male velcro attached to), it stayes pretty snug. I also have wrapped 2 velcro cable-tie strips around, for security. My next step is attachding a spandex made pouch to the top of the glove to eliminate any snag points. Cables go under my shirt to the fanny pack, so there's no snag potential. ( have to wear long sleeves of course ) Also WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE CONNECTOR ON THE END OF THE CAM itself ? Not the BNC on the extention, but the actual 4 hole round connector that is about 10" down from the bulletcam ? It's very impractical the way the whole thing is configured and I was gonna splice and dice and make it a single cable which has that connector on one end, and the SONY composite ( 3.5mm ) on the other with the barrel coming of off it to the battery pack - I think that would be ALOT cleaner. any help ? thank you. P.S. The low light performance is amazing compared to my TRV22...

Gonna be in TF June 17-26th ....

Do I have to drive an hour when I can just get drunk at home ??? Probably a bit safer too ...

I have been selling various computer related items on eBay and wholesale since I was 19, I am 25 now... Self-employed. My business partner is a skydiver too, though has no desire to BASE.

I hate to say it, but my mom will never fully understands what BASE is. She has seen my videos, and photos, and she seems to be fine with it as long as I enjoy it. I think part of the fact that she trusts me to be safe and make sane decisions about my own safety has alot to do with it. I think she was more hard-up about me getting my first motorcycle at 18, than me starting to skydive at 20 ... My wife on the other hand requires a lot of hand holding before every jump - but so far she has been "tolerable" :) Haven't seen my dad for last 13 years, so not sure what he would think of it ... Probably would be fine though...
