    I got 64s from 4000m with opening around 1500m for the first flight. I was flying almost in tracking position which seemed to burn in a bit and quite vertical. Phantom is a really nice and stable suit, I could not manage to get unstable so far.

    Don't analyze too much! Don't expect too much! Your instructor will help you and plan your pattern. Don't really expect lot more than a tracking dive and more than 70-90s of free-fall with high opening.

    Sharing flight plan with the jump pilot? Do you have some ready draft for that? I got weird looks and faces from pilots and non-WS jumpers yesterday. I made a draft that I can fill up according the place I jump with magnetic north, run-way numbers and flight sector.

    In theory of course yes, but it would not be practical. WL is affecting recovery arc, so does line length, but the major factor is the air-resistance of your canopy. Most reason of having so long recovery arc on small hot-pocket rockets than drag of your canopy compares to the drag of your body.

    Than you can restrict yourself with canopies over 200 sqft. Towing a live PC is something like towing a big ass anchor with your canopy. There was a time when I had a special kill-line system. It pulled the pin inside the bride on collapse. 10% of the jump it did not collapse and I had terrible landing on even a 150sqft canopy.

    This makes no sense. There are almost universal airfoils you can you from student to ballistic WL e.g. Cobalt, Firebolt. I don't think we need these categories. I like Icarus' WL explanation much. There are other approaches in others countries, they have a list what canopies can someone use under 250 jumps and

    Mine was. I got a 90 degree turn around a small tree and got a surprise soft landing.

    Its BS. Remember those died avoid having one and failed to save their own life! Remember those played russian rulette and started mid-air rigging! Having no cutaway is not honour. Its just a sign that you have not proven to save your life in a high stress crisis. No surprise that TMs are required to have them. Boarding a plane is a commitment: you do everything in order to save your life. I'm ready to have the next any day even with the very next jump. How was my first? Peaceful. How was my last one? Boring.... Are you ready to have yours?

    Depends on your position from your target and winds... Depends on the traffic... Breaks around your fist, secured by 2 fingers, dive loops pulled by 2 other fingers. You should keep them. Depends on the situation. You can make a flying canopy a not flying one.....
