If its a hot day heat may damage the gear too.

Remember bag lock: d-bag did not open, because of the mess of the lines...
-
Mystery of bag lock? Can a "break fire" or an incorrectly stowed brake cause bag log? I have not seen the gear after pick up thoroughly, but it has been told to be a bag lock because either one side has not been set for deployment or stowed incorrectly leaving the guide ring out and using just the elastic "keeper". Any thoughts? Sad to see junior jumpers packing like defined in the training program without knowing which steps are cosmetics and which should be taken really seriously.

AFAIK rules has been changed since than.

Have you seen the video on my link? I really don't know what else can I say ....we had a FS competition here yesterday. 22 of my 26 pack jobs was paid by someone else...

For what purpose? For swooping? I had about 250 jumps on a Cobalt 135 WL 1.6-1.8.I like it much. It opens friendly and I got only 1 cut-away from line twist. It does not open like a square, it might open with some closed end cells or a bit fast, but not hard or painful. You can make it dive, but it recovers by itself. My recovery arc on Cobalt 135 was on the short side. Now I'm jumping a Cobalt Competition 105. I'm in love. I have not jumped Stilleto, so I can not compare to that. I had 350 jumps on a Pilot150 and demoed a Vision 132, 4 jumps. Vision opened faster and it did not felt as stable as Cobalt. Cobalt does not has a perfect reputation and Sabre either and lots of them around.

How to bag a new canopy less than 3 minutes That is a Sabre2 170 in hand, about 20 jumps from DOM X/2007. You can do it too.

It depends on the dimensions of the D-bag. If the depth and thickness is close looks ok,but if its deeper than the thickness and filled up fully than I'd rather rotate to the bridle to reserve position.

differences between alti-2 neptune2 and l&b viso

I guess it was not the first 1000 or at least not the first 1000 when you had more than 15 sec of freefall... -

A deadly one. Its almost as cool as jumping without any altimeter.... -

One more + for Neptune: it has backlight. You would be even more doom jumping with polarizing sunglasses and altimeters with LCD display. -

I have read stories about dead Visos and Optimas after contact with water. I got my Neptune under water twice. Its still working fine. -

I had a Pro-Track. Than started wingsuiting. You know Pro-Track has a 120sec log limitation. I've bought a Neptune and sold Pro-Track, than bought an Optima. I've realized later that they might not show same altitude some time. Both are great product, but they have difference hw/sw, so they might indicate different altitude. -

I'm a Neptune owner. I get sometime 20-30m difference indicated between my Optima and Neptune. I like them both although. So if you got an Optima already get a Viso. I think they share most of the hardware, so it wont be a big altitude difference between them. -
If you mean that you do not have any slack on brakes when you are in full flight, than you can ask a rigger to replace your lower brake lines with longer ones. If you have horrible opening too, it could be a sign to get the whole line-set replaced.

You have control in hand, so its up to you. Fly it nicely.

Retractable PIN and kill line pilot chute
phoenixlpr replied to jumpin_Jan's topic in Gear and Rigging
I got one. i did not collapse in 10-25% of the jumps. I looked up and back and saw the spinned up PC I did know that I can expect a funny landing... I do not want them anymore. -
Sure, but you spent some time showing to your back to the camera on the tripod.

chest strap under canopy?

Risers with velcro come handy. I can stick them back. -
Just starting to "swoop"...advice?
phoenixlpr replied to Kynan1's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Bail out in what phase? 0-90 degrees? Before init? Come on! You should be able to do a flat turn into the final direction or you should not have any business with doing a front riser 180. In final 90 degrees ? You can still digg it out and turn to final with flat or flare turn. If they have some dubt they have a problem. They should know how to land without any help, example or radio. Low timers usually do not clear pattern for landing. Do they care about us? -
