Freestyle moves and starting freestyle
phoenixlpr replied to NexGenSkydiver's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You may practice the world famous look aside freestyle move. -
Just starting to "swoop"...advice?
phoenixlpr replied to Kynan1's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Or just harder to master, because of the running-crab setup. -
There is the first place to get inflated again... Not on the lines, but on the tube stows. Its quite hard to pick them, its enough fighting with the canopy than with the stows too.
-
Depends what your goals are. Longer risers gives longer recovery arc. Having longer risers than you can reach might not be practical. Usual length is about 21-22", you can find 24" too.

How to bag a new canopy less than 3 minutes That is a Sabre2 170 in hand, about 20 jumps from DOM X/2007. You can do it too.

Nice, but unreadable..... -
Then define glide. If it distance covered from certain altitude my explanation stands.

Is everyone advertising his crap to sell as an excellent beginner rig? Even with a Stilletto?
-
Positive. It can, but depends on the amount of brakes to use. Minimum forward speed and minimum descent rate are not in the same point. If you go from Full flight to near stall, you go minimum descent rate in the middle. Applying brakes does not can your absolute glide, but if you descent rate is lower, you are exposed to winds longer, so you would drift more by the winds. Flying upwind your glide would be steeper, flying downwind your glide would be flatter.

Do you need some help? I can bag a new canopy less then 3 minutes. I got videos about it. I can post it later.
-
How about publishing on youtube or google-video?

Well if 160-211 LBS pull force can not extract your pin what can extract it? Hesitation is not PCIT anyway.
-
Oh, There is even a FAR greater chance that you don't need to use your reserve.......Thanks for your contribution, I can solve this problem just like you did.
-
Shit happens, you know. I'd like to know what can I expect.
-
Yes, but I can think of MANY more scenarios where the bigger the better (with in bounds of reason). JW Do you know how a 20-30-50% bigger reserve fly a biplane ?
-
First of all its not PD, than they would have to pay with hard Euro's for that.

A brand new Triathlon 190 or an older Triathlon 190. They used to use some different(Glevenor) material.
-
You performance? I don't think that would increase. . Your speed would increase a bit. Different canopies might have different flare points.

Am I a cool kid? I had 2 total mal. My main was hanging from the RSL when I was under my reserve.....

Good Deal or Not Total paid $550.00
phoenixlpr replied to ucadam's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That's a problem I have noticed with skydiving and skydiving gear now. People are using arbitrary time periods that "seem reasonable". When anyone has decided that 20 years is a limit they have simply pulled it out of their ass. They have not based it on anything scientific. 20 years rule for reserve and H/C is enforced in several european contries. There is nothing that we can do about it here. I have a VectorII and a glidepath Crickett reserve from `91, so 3 seasons left if it gets through the annual inspection. I have to retire it or I can sell it for a really low price for someone from US. -

The line should be drawn somewhere. 20 years looks reasonable. -
Why I jumped a whole Season with a BASE rig from 13K ft...
phoenixlpr replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
Do you say that the main reason having 120s of reserve repack cycle in US that some riggers don't know how to assemble a reserve correctly? -
2040 Lithium batteries for Altitron altimeter?
phoenixlpr replied to 377's topic in Gear and Rigging
Negative. Do no do that! You will break your instrument with over voltage. The difference between 2020, 2030, 2040 is the capacity and thickness. If you stack 2 pcs, the voltage is 6V. If you stack 9V !!! I'd rather use some metal foil between 2 2030 to pad the tickness. -
I'd rather concentrate on body position instead. You will feel if you opening was usual or something else. I got a bunch of line twists, all of them were "ready" when I looked up. Most of the cases my canopy was flying in level and not diving. I guess you still fly a square or lightly tapered wing. Do not worry too much, you canopy can sense that and it would twist itself....

You may try other way. Pick a H/C e.g.: Icon or Wings, than choose a main size, than you'll see that reserve you may fit on a H/C that can hold your main.
