Wingsuit mod containers for "normal" use
phoenixlpr replied to -Scatter-'s topic in Gear and Rigging
Sure, you should know it better. I got a 32" F111 PC on that short bridle. All I got was normal openings. I got hesitation ones with a Javelin 28" PC, I got it replaced right away and it was not a WS dive. -
Wingsuit mod containers for "normal" use
phoenixlpr replied to -Scatter-'s topic in Gear and Rigging
I have about 60 WS jumps with an extra short, about 180cm long bridle without any opening issues. I don't think that really matters. -
I was wondering to have 6 starts or 6 skulls on my helmet, than Ive dropped the idea. The "scum" would not understand, so they don't need to know. Its better to be know as having a lot, their fear can multiply it

Are you over your TSO (max suspended weight)
phoenixlpr replied to Anvilbrother's topic in Gear and Rigging
I don't think that landing with a pilot's bail-out rig would be better. Its still a life saving device if you get yourself down without injury thats a plus. -
Requirement for full face helmet in YOUR country

License B in Finland. AFIAK That's about the level when a student has completed the subterminal jumps. -
Take it easy! Things are not black or white. It is not just the equipment. Its a state of mind too. Try to be positive, you fear and worries would not help him at all.

You know what? Lets do something about it! Get a new canopy, I pack it, you make the video .

Higher wingloading = more stable in turbulance?
phoenixlpr replied to rhys's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Is this the right time to have a poll about if gravity works? You should have positive load on lines to keep your canopy flying. Not even airlocks would keep your canopy flying in turbulance..... -
I don't need an audible that is a visual as well, I have plenty of those. I also am not very keen on some of the neptune's other features that I have seen... like auto mega battery drain, auto shut off in freefall, and the ability to give skydivers Matrix like abilities ie 1000 FPM climb rates while sitting at the bonfire. Do you have a Neptune with firmware version 3.0+ ?

Anyone had laser eye surgery???
phoenixlpr replied to davecav's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
LASIK or LASEK, PRK ? -
Can you name any benefit over non-crossbraced? They are more expensive, less predictable opening, more complex. I had to notice that e.g. break settings are a compromise. I got involved in swooping and I got to lengthen my lower break lines. I felt that I lost some flare power on strait in landings but I don't pull breaks with fronts anymore.

I'd say quite likely get an expert cypress fired. Imagine a not 100% spread out canopy diving down in a downplane or cork-screw.

I ask paragliders. Their canopies are eaten by the sun.

Than demo a Cobalt. I've demod a Vision, but Ive found the Cobalt what I really love to fly.

Have more 150-200 jumps and come back. You have no business with ellipticals having 116 jumps.

Wing tunnels, The BPA = Goodbye 2 skydiving
phoenixlpr replied to crashtested's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What's so "dangerous" about a PLF? You should not have more than 300 jump to perform a good stand-up landing under a decent wing. A superior pilot makes good decisions to avoid having the chance require his/her superior skills. -

Sure. They get wet.
-
Yes, I do. If I feel any doubt and have time I repack my main. Its not because any regulations its just because of me. I love to feel, touch and pack my canopy.

***Well i dont want put my ka in wash mashineQuote Why not? How about putting into a pillow case? I don't think that a 30C program without detergent would do more harm the 1500 jumps in desert conditions.

I have a gear bag and a carry-on trolley for my other gear. Trolleys are quite inexpensive and handy if you don't want to carry it on your back.

Size 240-280 sqft?

What makes no sense? You have the rest of your life for downsizing anyway.
