  1. You are landing out. Be prepared landing with the balloon and that can be rough. Do not board and pay if balloon's pilot confess he has only half load of gas onboard. That's interesting. Balloon don't follow roads.
  2. You may get dragged by the canopy. Always use a helmet! You may loose your balance and fall against something hard. I read about a similar case in paragliding.
  3. Leave it. There are plenty of ZP and hybrid canopies on the market. You don;t want to have a F111 canopy, unless you do accuracy.
  4. They are [url "http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2667014981888325603&hl=en" ]fun.[/url.] My WL was about 1.5.
  5. I got some steel too: left ankle, plate + 4 screws left. Now I know what is break surge in details.
  6. Have you seen any made in China stuff in skydiving? You can wonder why.
  7. Do you really think that a jump profile is more comparable? I think it would make more sense to compare average speed or max distance for a certain interval of altitude, like speed skydivers do.
  8. Does it make any sense? I do feel different flying over 2200-2000m and under.... I think its a bit more complex than just simple calculus.
  9. Its said, but I think that's true. I have seen results over 4km between 3000m and 1500m in best glide more with SM1. A good flier can fly around 3 min with a Phantom and that does not have huge wings at all. Think what they could be flown with XS on floaty mode.....
  10. Take it easy! Don't let others distract you. You'll get used to it and over it. Its something like sitting in the door on jump run, legs out and waiting for the spot to come and your heartbeat is still normal. Its just a question of practice and currency.
  11. Skydive: using a parachute in order to slow your descent rate from an aircraft when its airborne. There is nothing wrong with SL when even a tandem -as a student/passenger- is a skydive.
  12. 200, in other countries 250 jumps. You may use a tracking suite with less jumps. Some ppl can track further than other go with WS.
  13. I prefer to have my breaks release over 600m, thats my last on my opening sequence. Bit higher is not a problem if there is no reason to open lower. I don't pull by checking an altimeter, I use my eyes, sometimes waiting for my audible, but I pull earlier if I feel so.
  14. Its a good test to demonstrate that you can turn without inducing a line twist. If you don't believe that just ask anyone, because anyone should be able to perform it.
  15. Ask Putki! They were preparing for that, and did some test drops too. I was told that timing was quite tight for preparing and checking 3 students from 300m to ~1000m in ~2 minutes.
  16. Where can be found some information about it? Pictures? Price?
  17. All I say that data samples should match the same reference clock.
  18. I see you wanna burn your tail.... Go ahead.
  19. Both data set should have a common clock, in other words single device ...... Barometric altimeter has its errors, so does GPS and wind speed meter.....
  20. Than how would you calculate glide ratio? What we can measure is ground track or altitude in the time domain. Trackingderby's "fault" is not having a fixed race condition like ground track between 2500 and 1500m AGL.
  21. From time, altitude, true airspeed and GPS position you might be able to remove the effect of the wind. Than thats a really handy feature.
