  1. Still its not about FAI or IPC. Simple answer: that is the only license accepted there...
  2. Please start with at least respecting the rules of the country where you want to jump. I was jumping there last year. I did my part and collected my blue FAI license. Even I live in Europe, even I have my Finnish license, even I happen to be Hungarian.
  3. Move you lazy ass and get your FAI license!
  4. You and your constructive solution. I'd rather buy and fly a track suit if I would not have enough jumps for FFC. I've seen proof when hardcore trackers got better glide than others in wing suits.....
  5. Unfortunately, that comment isn't remotely accurate... One wingsuiter I'm familiar with has commented in these very forums that he can look at someone's skills, not jump numbers, and know if they are ready to jump a wingsuit. That seems to be somewhat common. I was in his shoes. I got ~180-200 jumps and I wanted to fly. Local requirement is 250 jumps. I got plans to travel to Estonia and have FFC there...
  6. It could be quite hard to find a WS instuctor in US who would give you an FFC. You may find someone in East-Europe or Russia who would train you. You might get it smooth with money. You can buy fancy big wings..... Is that the thing you want to have? .... .... Can you buy a new life if you fail to save your own?
  7. Why do you think that the second best way is taught for students? A class requirement: pull stable. You were taught how to pull stable.
  8. I usually land with leg wing on.
  9. I have the feeling that the flat-spin has something to do with the narrow leg wing of those suit.
  10. Don't you want to get yourself free from your strait jacket? The classic example is flat-spin. It should be some special skill, I could not manage to get myself into flat spin for 150 jumps with WS.
  11. Any canopy would do which your are comfortable. A got ~ on a Pilot150, ~50 on Triathlon 160 and 3+ on Cobalt 135. I have the Triathlon and the Cobalt now, I prefer the Triathlon with wing suit.
  12. Does design includes selection of material ?
  13. got pics ? I have the risers, but I have sold the canopy already.
  14. Once I got a pair of riser with velcro. My lower brake line started to look fuzzy. I've have chosen other means for stow them and I have cut the velcro off. Rings were smooth, but lower break lines got fuzzy after replacement. Your move, cheap wonder....
  15. There could be 2 source of lower break line wear on risers with velcro: velcro and guide ring. How would you know which did the damage? Is there any point winning about it if the cost of replacement is about $5?
  16. Can you see any difference between lifting a ball or mug with a handle of the same size? Can you lift the ball using a stick? How about the mug? It can make difference between file and death...
  17. Sure. You can call it pride or overkill.... I got my first mal on a rig with soft handle as a student. I did it in wrong sequence. I don't like the idea of the soft handle if its not a loop. You have to able to grip with a soft handle. All you need is stick and pull if its a hard loop, you might able to save your life with a broken hand.
  18. Nevermind. There are countries where having TSO on H/C and reserve is not a must, and more DIY is allowed....
  19. Wow! You got the trivial answer! That's something! I just pack my Triathlon like anything else.
  20. We both know that pilots don't use reserves... they wear bailout rigs. I think you're losing the nuance. Pilot bailout canopies are generally reserve-style and reserve-quality canopies, packed more or less the way reserves are packed. Thus, they're generally considered to have about the same reliability in openings as ... reserves. Sure, there are dosens of other applications for round canopies...
  21. We both know that pilots don't use reserves... they wear bailout rigs.
  22. Should this to be moved to Bonfire? Round reserves are not coming back.
  23. So? The round reserve save his life as it was designed for. Pleasant landing is not really guaranteed there.
