Can anyone reccomend these helmets of the starter pack?
phoenixlpr replied to DOA's topic in Gear and Rigging
Why do you start with the helmet? Usually you can rent a helmet. I`ve seen skiing helmets in use in Finland. My first piece was an altimeter. Than a Pro Track, jumpsuit, Z1 helmet.... -
I love it too. I don`t need tips and tricks to pack it for soft opening. I have not demod it before buying, but I think it was an excellent choice.
-
Nope. We don`t have any like that. But there are jumpers using that around. Some of them are satisfied, some of them not fully satisfied. Sure. Thanks for your offer. I like to pack it. It was more challenging to pack in the beginning. I can pack like hell, but its still opening soft without problems.

Are they having a bad reputation, because of they were sold in a big number? Try again!

I donno about CA, but in Hungary and in Finland C license is required. Mostly for off airfield landings, I think.
-
And these kind of incidents are more frequent with some certain type of canopies. Why, oh why?
-
I have not done mine, but I`ve got some info. I think 3000feet won`t be the biggest problem. Picking the right landing area could be. I was told that I have to pick my landing area by myself from midair. So prepare for landing off and without the help of any (artificial) wind indication.

Well done! It was a good decision. Others can say anything on the ground. Welcome to the club!

??? Nav 260,280 was not planing out with me. Nav220 was a different animal. In my case it required 2 stage flare. I had 80+ jump on F111 canopies, 30+ on a Maverick(200sqft) ~WL 1.0. It was not planing out, but I could get an acceptable landing with it.

Will this be a viable jumpship
phoenixlpr replied to 2fat2fly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I`ve jumped from 3 different, but I havn`t noticed that. -
Sure. Go to logbook section push SET 3 times, wait some sec, and adjuct the number of jumps you have there.

Are there skydivers without injuries?
phoenixlpr replied to Don.Key's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Broken ankle by jump nr 87. -
Not just in UK, Finland too.
-
I`ve seen that way. Women wear belt or west inside, guys wear belt outside.
-
I`ve seen worn then inside and outside too.

Some years ago I saw a student coming back without a helmet. The helmet landed on the field witout any damage.

Better? Its is just a question of defining what is better. I have 9 jumps on RS4/A East German made rig used mostly in military. They are about 74 m^2 in area. They are more reliable, but more than 14kgs in weight, its a pain to pack and landings were unpredictable. Over 4m/s wind you can expect to land backwards.... Would you exchange your current gear for a RS4/A /BE-8(round reserve) ? No? It seems your current gear is 'better', than that.

I don`t want to convince you. It`s up to you if you want to be a test jumper.... BTW I have Slinks on my main.

minimum skydiving experience before starting BASE jumping.
phoenixlpr replied to Sean621's topic in Archive
Well, I`ve checked my logbook. I have 80+ jumps with F111 200sqft or bigger. I have about 40 jumps on a FC Maverick ( 200sqft, 7cell ), but I don`t feel ready for this step. -
Well. It`s not recommended to stow the break line excess in the risers. So if they do it against the manufacturer`s recommendation that their own stupid business. http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/ControlSysMalf.PDF

phoenixlpr replied to palejo's topic in Gear and Rigging
Wow. It sounds logical. Is there any reason not to do that way? -
