Ok. Low altitude (~1000m) and subterminal jump where multiple jumpers in the same line. -
Suggested opening direction for hop'n'pop(subterminal)?
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Safety and Training
Is there any? It has happend with me some months ago: I was leaving the plane got some delay, watching the plane fly away and going against the relative wind in a kindda delta position and popped my PC. My canopy was about to open when a saw the next jumper flying against, but over me. He was flying over me in 15-20m meters. I felt it was a close call. Any ideas? Edit: subterminal added -
Most expensive bit of gear you have lost?
phoenixlpr replied to Mike111's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
How have you lost those stuff? Has those been confiscated? -
Is it cool to call some piece of equipment gay? Khm. Why not?
-
Same way how a H/C looks gay.

I hate packing SO GOD DAMNED MUCH [mad]

So if you had packing problem with some old canopy you have no hope with a new pilot. I have been thought to pack by a Pilot150. It was slippery like a fish. -
Will a kitten survive a free-fall-assist from 320' with a 46" p/c?

Its not just the proper size of canopy. You need a counter weight on the cat unless its climbing up on the lines a collapse its canopy. -
You look still homophobic .

Really? So hold-roll-pull-hold and go downwards. Getting loose? Just don't let it go. If you watch reverse-bagging, you may hold it in your left until you put it into the bag. I suppose you PRO-pack. Hold the canopy with your left hand nad roll the tail with your right against your leg/body. Put it down, but don't let it go. Put your right knee on the slider part, grab the end of roll with your left. -

Negative: put a carpet under it. Check this out Roll the tail tight! You are safe as long the tail is closed. -

Let me guess. You have bought a new canopy :). I have tried to roll, no use. You have to do a different way may be :). -

I did my time. 161 jumps ago. I think it is not enough to see it how to do it. You have to find your way to do it. If I were him I'd rather do some search. I've posted my way some months ago. -
Bad skydiving landing video
phoenixlpr replied to Cornjumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Come on! It's terrible. I gave first aid last year to a student. He was screaming long after landing.... -

Take it easy! I would fit better if you leave less air captured. You have a really nice attitude. Its high time to start putting some trust into your packjobs. What kind of problem do you have anyway? -
You should be right. If its not an improvement of the original design it should not be out there.
-
Do you think that was a problem of their ADD? I don't think any ADD can be "bullet proof".

I've heard that a new Cypress2 model is out. Can anyone confirm it? Activation speed has been changed to 43 m/s, no activation under 100m. Not recommended for wingsuite jumps. Edit: speed corrected

Can you be overly cautious/too safe?
phoenixlpr replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like me. I don't freefly, because my VectorII is not safe for FF. -
Oh, anyway AFAK a soft reserve handle is not allowed in Finland.

Make a good plan, and execute it! Have a backup plane too. My problems use to come along with the poor execution of my original plane. -
I`d rather not jump in those condition I don't feel comfortable.

LOL. built-in right turn at W/L 1.4ish? I don't think so. I've though I had a built in left turn. It turned out if I fasten my leg straps evenly, but not equally by length; it was flying strait. I'd rather call your built in turn as harness turn.
-
I would not do that. Once I mixed up the sequence , I was a student. You can feel the difference with the silver. You can put your fist into the D, so you don't have to hold it after use.

First small plane jump (cessna 182)
phoenixlpr replied to Evelyn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've got the other way around. We had a visiting A/C: Twin Otter. We had to give a push-back after refuel. We were told not to push from the wing strut. I've asked for the reason: not strung enough for that... :) -
What is a pretty hard landing for you?
