The only thing the French ever did for the Americans was sell them the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.....and I dont think that deal is completed yet.... Of course, they also allowed the USA to call their mani dish "French Fries"

The French were at the English throats...anything they did was against England, a fringe benefit to the Americans who wanted away from English rule, but the French were at war with England. Read about Fort William Henry on Lake george, and that was English vs French...a total French disgrace...nothing to do directly with the rebels of the 1776 revolution .

Put the polititians on the front lines....let them see the cost first hand. The only problem with that is Saddam would still be in powe and Bush and Blair would be dead. I feel bad everytime I hear of another soldier being killed in Iraq....usually by a bunch of thankless sickos who can't understand that they would likely be in one of Saddam's prisons being tortyured if the USA and Britain hadnt come to clean up the mess of Saddam. In WW I, the USA sent enough men to bail France out. It wasnt until late in the war, but the men from USA were the factor that turned the tide against the Hun and won the war....strictly manpower. In W W II, it was once again men, but also equipment. The Brits and canadians et al, would still be fighting that war if it hadnt been for the American men, planes, tanks, bombs, and everything elses the USA poured into the war effort. I have been a historian for many years, (particularly focusing on WW I, aviation, and have evn built four WW I full scale aircraft. Ive talked with many pilots from that era, and the last surviving German pilot of that war was a very good friend. Ive questioned them about the USA involvement, and they all agreed that without the USA, the Vichy Government would still be giving France to the Huns. Read your history books. The same giveaway was implemented by the french in WW II as De Gaule spent his time in England while the soldiers from the USA poured across France to kick the Germans out.

These days, there are so many countries (191 in the UN) against the USA, I can see why Bush says "If you are not with us, you are against us" Too many counntries will sit on the sidelines and then expect the benefits that go to the victor. France is a great example of that. I am not suggesting that the USA is always right, but the two faced attitude of some little emperors is quite sad. When those countries have a national disaster, who is there to help bail them out of it....the USA, thats who. They only suck up to the USA with their hand out. Bill Cole D=-41

You might try chewing gum on the climb to altitude, and after the jump. The constant movement of the jawbone, will often keep the eustachian tube from settling with pressure against the ear drum. Once on the ground, you can try the valsalva method of clearing your ears, by holding your nose, closing your mouth, and trying to blow out both. This MAY cause a sharp pain, but it is not a lingering pain, but rather a short term one. You may have to do the valsalva method several times but chewing gum may reduce the number of times to get your ears cleared. Make sure your ears are free of wax before going to jump. Have the doctor check the perforated drum periodically, just to make sure there is no increase in damage. Bill Cole D-41

smoke residue on anything but the canopy is nothjing to worry about. Ive had smoke on everything I owned at one time or another...incuding my skin. The skin is the only thing you will eventually get the residue off...everything else forget it. If it damages the canopy...then thats another problem...how serious, depends on how much and where, and repairing. Bill Cole D-41

As for what I would like to do before I die...the list is short, because Ive done so much that was a desire from Day 1.My goodness, I have had a great ride through life...such a great time. WOW.
