CSPA Student training at DZ's under scrutiney?
chuteless replied to flyinchicken's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
FYI Mr Burble...my last jump was in July 2000. However, you can rest assured, I will be making quite a few this summer...sort of making up for lost time. Re your profile....I'd really like to know how you jump the Sabre 2 without a container. HHmmmm, And as for the "teacher"....it sure isnt the first time a teacher made me stand in the corner....one even threw me out of school. Many gave me the "strap", but I think thats now outlawed. protection from whom????? Canada exports some of the most experienced terrorists through its borders to the United States. Dont say Canada never gave the USA anything.

CSPA Student training at DZ's under scrutiney?

If CSPA had any idea of how to properly administer their responsibilities, they would appoint a Public Relations officer, to take the initiative in cases like these, and minimize the potential damage that will obviously ensue by a wuffo jury. What they need is a good public relations program, with material at the ready, to begin their drive to show responisble behaviour at the time of the fatality, not only of the particular dropzone, but by their poorly run national organization. They have to stop fumbling around with unimportant issues, trying hard to ostrasize individuals, and make more effort to prepare for problems , that if not properly taken care of, will end up allowing Coroner's juries to destroy all parachuting throughout the country. All that will be left is the Canadian Forces Skyhawks parachute team. I realize CSPA is an amateur sport organization, but it must start to be run with a professional attitude, and a measure of integrity. Bill Cole D-41 -

CSPA Student training at DZ's under scrutiney?

Operating for 30 years and 170,000 jumps.............. I do believe that they've been dropping students for 30 years between the Arthur DZ and Baldwin DZ, but DO NOT believe they have made 170,000 jumps at that school. That would be an average of 5666 jumps per year, 472 per month including Winter ,and thats a lot of CRAP. Its not surprising they didnt list the high number of injuries during the 30 years. cutaways..... inevitable?
chuteless replied to sky_jumper22's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Heck man, wityh 1800 jumps, I am sure you are able to handle anything in the air. I hope you dont have to use the reserve, but in either case, best of luck. Bill Cole D-41 -
cutaways..... inevitable?
chuteless replied to sky_jumper22's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No , I think it was a combination of my weight and the unopened main, just too much in terminal for the reserve, and it also had a line over. Actually, I like cutaways...they are a real fix (adrenalin ). Ive had about 8, and 1 reserve used when I didnt have enough alt to use a main. Bill Cole D-41 -
cutaways..... inevitable?
chuteless replied to sky_jumper22's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When practicing for the 1st chuteless jump, I decided to open the reserve I was going to use on the actual jump, and it blew apart, so I cutaway, and opened my Para-Commander. There must have been about 2000 holes in the reserve, little ones and big ones. It was a brand new canopy, never used before. ooooops Bill Cole D-41 -
cutaways..... inevitable?
chuteless replied to sky_jumper22's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ive had my fair share of cutaways...and I'll bet I am the only person to cutaway a reserve and open his main Bill Cole D-41 -
Did you know that at the very time the hijacked planes hit the World Trade center, George Bush senior was meeting with Osama Bin Ladens's brother in New York City. Did you know that after grounding ALL the aircraft across the USA, several planes were given clearance from the white house to take off and fly a large number of Arabs out of America and back to their home countries. Many strange things took place that week Bill Cole D-41

How important is looking cool in my gear.

Are you some kind of a fashion model or a skydiver? As long as your equipment fits, you can fly okay with it, and both chutes are capable of getting you down safely, who gives a damn what it looks like? Bill Cole D-41
