You are most welcome. I am glad that I was able to repay your kindness, i.e. : the use of the shower in the morning, the laundry machines, and the smiles. You have a great DZ, and it was nice to meet you guys. Thanks, and best wishes for a great summer. Bill Cole D-41

Have an absolutely GREAT day. All the very best.....how old are U.....20? Oh well, it doesnt matter...think young no matter what the age. Bill Cole D-41

CONGRATULATIONS I told you that you WOULD do it. It was nothing more than an enjoyable repeat of your others jumps. If one looks at FEAR objectively, one can understand that it is only an emotion that can be conquered. You proved it, and I'm very glad to hear you are back in the sky where you belong. All the best to you Bill Cole D-41

Dar Robinson - Any memories?
chuteless replied to flyingferret's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I had been asked tyo do the jump from the CN Tower for the movie "Highpopint". The producer called me to come meet with him abnd discuss the jump...I agreed I would do it, and gave them a business card from a lawyer who would negotiate the fee. The producer asked "how much", to which the lawyer replied, "We're talking six figures". There was silence on the phone and the producer said he would be in touch. They invitedDar to do the jump, and he did for $25000.. I spoke with him about an hour after the jump, congratulated him and suggested the jump was worth a lot more. Dar replied" Yes I agree, but I wanted to do it for the promotional value as much as the money' He knewhis stuff, was a good jumper, and a loss when he died. Bill Cole D-41 -
Re your recent post "I'll post (IF) I make it out to Tecumseh and get one under my belt" Should read If I make it out to Tecumseh, I WILL get one under my belt!!! Make it happen...be positive...no negative thoughts....you CAN do it.You WILL do it. All the best skies to you, my friend. Bill Cole D-41

Believe in YOURSELF. You are a proven jumper. If you have jumped before, all subsequent jumps are repeats. If you have conquered the sky before...you can do a repeat jump...and conquer it again. You know there isnt anything to be afraid of...you were able to demonstrate that you copuld handle it all before...go and handle it all again. Believe in YOURSELF....and do it again...just like the last time. I'd wish you good luck, but luck doesnmt really enter into it...it is you and your ability...the same ability you demonstrated to everyone before...use it again. Have a great jump. Bill Cole D-41

Yesterday I got my first jump since July 2000, at a fabulous drop zone, AerOhio. We went out at 14500 ft, with videographer Alan and the DZO Tim, Did a three way, some 360s and another 3 way. Talk about a shot of adrenalin...this was an overdose. So beautiful.... My heartfelt thanks to the two guys mentioned and others who got me back onto the rails in the sky. Bill Cole D-41

I stopped in at the Ranch DZ on Monday. It was raining very hard, only one man at the sales counter... Sorry I missed all you guys and gals... I hope if I ever get back there they have sunshine and warmer weather. Have a great summer...if the rains ever stop. Bill Cole D-41

I would like to thank everyone at Boston/Providence for their wonderful hospitality (except the weatherman). It sure was nice to meet all the regulars and even those who were doing their first tandems. A special thanks to Juan Vallacis for his hospitality, and for sharing his home with me for a few days. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH. Bill Cole D-41

I have been visiting the Boston/Providence SDCenter, and have really been impressed with the standard of their operation. Its been too windy to jump much the past two days, and while being given a refresher course in the equipment they use, (which is quite a change from what I have used for years) , I have sure met some outstanding jumpers/people at this dropzone. For anyone in the area, you couldnt wish for a better place to either begin or expand your knowledge and experiencve than the Boston/Providence SD Center. They are a real credit to the sport. No other country in the world does as much to help other countries in times of disaster than the U. S. A. The Americans are the first in to help....and the last to leave without so much as a thank you. They are the first to go back and help some more the next time disaster strikes too. Sure the USA has faults, but I dont think as many faults as some of the overtaxed countries, or the dictatorships that kill their citizens and milk the country , and then fleeing with everything they can steal Show me another country that offers as many opportunities to its citizens as the U S A. I guess there are some people who are never satisfied.... Bill Cole

I dont know WHY you dont care, but stop and think of it for a minute. You live in the greatest country in the world, you have so much opportunity, so much to be thankful for.... Make yourself care...for others, if not for yourself.

Its great to know the coach course was a success, and there are good coaches around.... Congrats to all coaches, new and old. Bill Cole D-41

Make sure you know how to do a good PLF....you "might need it". Teach your mind and body to respond to a fast approach, and if you have to roll it out, you'll be prepared. Sometimes, it can save your day. Bill Cole D-41

I visited the funeral home tonight to pay respects to a guy who made about 100 jumps back in the early 1960s. George Marcus passed away yesterday from heart failure. He was a great guy with a perpetual smile, and a great sense of humour. I hadnt seen him for awhile...the last time he was standing in a field beside his house and I dove an aircraft down and pssed over his head about 15 feet. He was wearing the usual smile from ear to ear. A Good guy...will be missed by many. bill Cole
