About a year ago, or maybe more, a young girl named Melanie from New Zealand either posted something on DZ.com, or answered a post of mine, and all I know is her name was registered as < Melanie OR has2beJesus . SOMETHING>. I have lost her correct email, and would like to contact her. If anyone knows how to find her email, I sure would appreciate some help. Please leave a message at chuteless@dropzone.com, and thanks for whatever anyone can do for me here. Bill Cole D-41

In the filming of a beer commercial we had a rserve on the ejection seat open at 12K to 15K. My brother was in the seat, and after freefalling to 2K, we thought we had lost the reserve and the seat. A little while later the police came to the airport with our seat and chute, it had been found several miles away in a small tree., asking if we knew anything about an aircraft going down. Personally, I would just ride it down and hope the 747s in the area missed me. Bill Cole D-41 We explained it, and no one cared.

Thanks to all for your replies. I have read them over, and it will take a few days to decide, but that won't take any longer than necessary. I don't know of any museum who would want them, I doubt CSPA would want one, and not sure about USPA....after being thrown out of both they may not even be interested. If they are, they can let me know what they would do with one.... I'll get back to you guys asap. Thanks all for taking them time to write. You are ALL my family, and I appreciate your kindness immensely Bill Cole D-41

During my trip through the United States this past summer, I gave away the first of my skydiving log books , to a very special person. This person had been very kind to me especially in the days after breaking my left ankle, heel, and foot and my tailbone on June 5th. The foot and ankle still hasnt healed, and the is very swollen. I have decided today that I am going to give away four more log books to some dropzone.commers. I will only keep the log book I currently used this summer. Each log book has a hard blue cover, and measures about 4 X 6 inches. They were the only log books in use during the 1960s. Log book #2, covers my jumping from jump # 124 to jump #270. Log Book #3 covers the jumps from #271 to #420. Log book #4 covers my jumps from # 421 to #570.and includes the two chuteless jumps. Log Book #5 covers jumps from #571 to #708. and includes the Canadian High Altitude Record from 36,916 ft. Some of the log books are not completely filled, before I started a new book, but that has no bearing on the jumps recorded. I will photocopy all the books before giving them away. If anyone is interested in having ONE of these 4 books, let me know. My decision to send them to 4 persons, will likely hinge on my perception of a person's interest, and involvement in the sport, the person's profile on DZ.com, and previous postings which can tell me much.I may select to send one to a person with a couple of jumps, OR a couple of thousand jumps. I may give them to a jumper from any country, depends on replies received but I would like to feel that I am giving them to persons who will take care of them. If anyone is interested, let me know. licenced jumpers who signed some of my jumps

Frank: I remember your sister...but not you. As for throwing a firecracker and putting a hole in your air mattress, that doesnt surprise me. I had lots of things take place with my "firecrackers" which were known as M-80 or H-100 s. They were actually dynamite about the size of a small finger, but did they ever make a noise and do damage. At the risk of having the moderators throw this posting out, I will tell you of two such dynamitecrackers. The first was on my way back from several days of jumping for a television series. I was sailing along the northern Ontario highway, a bright sunny afternoon, thinking about the big invoice I was going to mail to the producer when I got home. Down the road, I see a guy on the opposite shoulder, hitch-hiking towards me in the oncoming traffic with cars few and far between. Down goes my window, in goes the cigarette lighter, and as I approach this hitch-hiker, the dynamite-cracker is lit and tossed out to land about ten feet behind him as he stands there with his arm and thumb out. trouble is, the cracker took a couple of extra bounces, and when it exploded, it was directly between his feet . I looked in my rear mirror, thinking I might have blown his feet off, but he just stood there. I think his pants must have been instantly filled with brown ballast. I never threw another behind a hitch hiker again....that was just too close for comfort. Another time, I was living on the 12th floor of an apartment building, and my balcony was facing into a grass area in the center of a ring of buildings like mine. It was like a miniature Grand Canyon. I had one M-80 left, so one darkened evening I imbedded it into some plasticine, lit its wick, and threw it well away from my building. The resulting explosion reverberated off the canyon walls for awhile, and in what seemed like minutes, there were 7 fire trucks and 17 police cars parked around the buildings. Cops swarmed the place with flashlights, but couldnt find the "ground zero" I always liked things that went bang or boom....I havent had an M-80 or H-100 since that day. Bill Cole D-41 -

licenced jumpers who signed some of my jumps
chuteless replied to chuteless's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Steve Sutton did 200 jumps in 24 hours, and it was recognized as a record, even recognized by CSPA who is known for NOT recognizing records, especially high altitude that was accepted by the FAI. Bill Cole D-41 -

Alright, who is pretending to be Al-Borak??? As secretary of the Al-Borak skydivers, I used to get mail addressed to Mr. Al Borak. I always thought it was a dumb name, but I didnt pick it. Come on....who the heck are you.???? You have my interest Bill Cole D-41 -
As for what causes GR....I always looked at it as a willingness to NOT believe your altimeter, and believing that the ground is much closer than it is. On several jumps I have had ground rush at 18000 to 20,000 feet after a good freefall, and that is why I carried both a sensitive and a non-sensitive altimeter. I believed the instruments although my mind told me I was closer to the deck, and I still had quite a ways to go. Bill Cole D-41

how about a new Para Commander
chuteless replied to chuteless's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was just thinking that to build a PC out of the very light/strong material they are now using to construct squares would be a neat chute, designed exactly like the old Mark I para-commanders were. It was a very good chute, good for accuracy, forward speed of 15 MPH, so a good stiff breeze helped for the standups. The PC was also very good for quick fast openings when veryclose to the ground, so thats a great benefit if you like low openings. Anyhow, it was just something to think about I also think a Para-Sled would also be great in today's materials, and with a slider. The Para-Sled was strictly a multi-line reefing system that sometimed worked, and sometime was a bone cruncher. However, the canopy was the best for flying, using a split tail , feartherlight toggle pressure. They were extremely heavy/bulky, even more so than the PC. I would forget retirement if I could jump either....with new materials etc......at least for a few jumps. Bill Cole D-41 -
how about a new Para Commander
chuteless replied to chuteless's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Is there anyone who is into rigging/sewing/etc, who would make a new Para-Commander out of prsent day materials. It would sure pack up small enough to fit in a small pocket sized container....and would likely be a real pleasure to fly. What do you think Popenhager??? -
Ive been following the thread about God, (from a distance) and although I see certain things I can agree with, Most of what is written is nothing but blasphemy. I am going to give here, a list of some things the Bible (King James version ) says, about the times in which we are now living. (All other versions are perversions). You can mull over them, give your thoughts, but I will not be back on this forum to get into arguments over this l;ist. The things I will state are absolute FACTS, and are totally ture, whether you like to believe it or not. I will not accept any emails on DZ.com, but will accept them at billcole5@hotmail.com. I will delete immmediately any emails that are considered blasphemous towqards God or Jesus Christ,, or using any filthy language. All other emails I will reply to , but will not get into a lengthy discourse in a topic would take an extreme length of time to teach one how to spiritually understand the means of an explanation. To start with, the Holy Bible (King James version) contains references to: George W Bush, Osama bin Laden Al Qaeda, The United States of America England Iraq Japan China Russia France, The War In Iraq North Korea The Holocaust The demise of the U.S.A., and when that will take place, and who will take over the land mass now known as the USA The Islamic nations Nuclear devastation, Smallpox references to "the time of the end" which is the days in which we are presently living. NOTE: There is a difference between the "time of the end" and "The End of Time". This should give those interested some food for thought. As I said when I announced I was retiring from active jumping, I will monitor the forums, but this may be the last time I post a thread for you to consider. Bill Cole

Arguments for (or against) the existence of God
chuteless replied to scottbre's topic in Speakers Corner
as a matter of fact YES, but I cannot put a 400 page manuscript on DZ.com for people who mock God. and thats a fact. Bill Cole PS: It would blow what little mind you have if you knew WHAT I have. And that is a fact too. -
Arguments for (or against) the existence of God

To quote the WORD of God, the Holy Bible, Psalm 14:1 and 53:1 says " The FOOL hath said in his heart there is no God." I would say that statement is one of the most accurate ever made. If the shoe fits...wear it Bill Cole -
Dave: I think you've "Butchered" the truth in your posting. I hope he made it worthwhile for you. I'm not surprised considering the DZ you jump at. Jumping/flying is no different now than 20 yrs ago, the body reacts to what you do in freefall now as it did then, and equipment used then can still bring a person down safely. It may not have the forward speed of today's canopies, or the ability to flare to a very soft landing, but I've made many many standups on C9 canopies, and PLFs looked after the rest. You wouldnt likely be aware of that since you weren't jumping back then., but either was your "mentor". Sometimes a ankle might break, but that can happen on 2004 equipment...there are several listed this year across the USA, on the forums of DZ.com The 30 day currency is for the most part, a money grab by greedy DZ owners. They take advantage of people kept on the ground by weather, and they keep many people from taking part in skydiving because of it. Thats "one" of the reasons skydiving is going "downhill". please note I said "SOME"....not all. Bill Cole D-41

Its like any other business....When some people devise ways of turning a low paying sport into a big money venture, they arent going to worry about being greedy. I remember when the National Hockey League players were making $7000.00 a year. Times have changed, so have hockey ticket prices. Skydiving isnt a spectator sport like hockey, and the not so rich jumper is now expected to buy a rig worth more than his car or anything else he owns. "SOME" dropzone owners are greedy, but things like the currency rule of 30 days is unjust, unfair, and uncalled for. It should be flexible , but many DZs use it as a hard fast rule which puts $$$$ into their pockets. They pretend its a safety factor...its a greed factor. Newer jumpers are struggling, and the 30 day rule is not as necessary as USPA OR the DZOs would have you believe. This penalizing the newer student jumopsr is driving them away from skydiving. There have been numerous postings on dropzone.com that show as much . Bill Cole D-41

Why would anyone move a posting about the parachutes failing on Genesis to "Introductions and Greets" Where is the relationship.....or is this in reference to the helicopters failing to greet Genesis on re-entry? Bill Cole D-41
-
Of course Im not saying don't try. I'm just saying that as much as Science and Scientists think they are able to do anything, they should realize they will not be able to do every single thing some quack in their midst says to try. Only with God are ALL things possible. I think the Genesis could have...should have worked, but there will be "SOME" things that will never be done, dream as much as you wish. The comparison to the Imax is a good one, things DO sometinmes go wrong., altrhough if the producer would have allowed more practice jumps like I asked for, the bugs could have been ironed out. He said " Oh we'll practice with the camera", and the day before, he had cancelled the insurance. I still don't know why.

Science will never be able to get everything "right", every time , even though they think they can. The only place man doesn't have limitations is in his dreams. Sometimes dreams and reality don't mix. Scientists have to learn to know the difference. Bill Cole D-41

I think much of the nonsense of a 30 dfay recurrency rule is an agreement between USPA dropzone owners and the USPA rule makers. It is a sanctioned money grab, a means of putting your hard earned currency into their pockets. That is whats behind the "currency " jump rule. Take a look throiugh the forums at the growing number of people who have made a few jumps, and are being screwed by this stupid rule which restricts them from making more jumps unless they have someone hold their hand from the time they geton the plane till their canopy opens. Paying to have an instructor to hold their hand is the extra cost that most cannot afford, and they really don't need it. No matter what the student wants to do, the DZs tack a cost on it....things that should be free to encourage students to keep jumping, not drive them away. I know of one DZ owner and his wife, who publicly stated they were out to make as much money by any means possible this summer, so they could build a retirement nest egg. I saw things being done, put on all jumpers, and even non jumpers, that I would never believe possible a few years ago. Greed...greed seems to be the driving force at "some" dropzones. Far too many rules and regul;ations....far too many people walking away from the sport. Bill Cole D-41
