We didn't, but the guys I put through prephase (back in the days before SFAS) did. So, in 1977, I didn't, but they did in 1979.

I knew some of the meanings -- Strange I sortof like not knowing what many of it meant. However, I do appreciate that it was more than the passing of 3 rock stars (as I always thought) but rather it was a passing of an 'age' (50s).

You have watched to many TV movies where the war is over in 1-2 hours. It took 6 years to end the axis domination of WW2 ~

Gotta admit, I thought a lot of fake whining was going on ... glad I read to the bottom! HILARIOUS!

The black beret "was" a mark of distinction to be worn with pride, but no more. It ain't the beret (green, black, or maroon) that makes you elite! It simply was a symbol. Few SFers liked wearing the green beret as it is hot (wool) and stinks, but we wore them when we had to. However, I was ticked that they took it away from Rangers, just as I would be if they took it away from SF -- Never mind we didn't like wearing them much! BTW-- 98% of SF and Rangers knew how to shape and wear them. 98% of the regular army look like cooks with chef hats! My son who has finished SFAS and is in the middle of "Q" school" has NEVER worn the black beret, and swears he never will -- We will see! I voted LOSE it!

I kept hearing about "topless" beach -- well, when I jumped with Michel, the only thing on that beach was a lone palm tree! But it was two of the best jumps I have ever made! What a view! See attached photos I took with my camera.

Bound to be a lot of skydiving ministers who would marry you in the air, but if you need one -- consider me available.

Well, this is getting futile. For one: I can't understand Faber's English, so I have no idea how to respond. The other I believe is a troll, so I guess I will move on after having my last say. Its bad that men/women have died in service, but when we sign up we know our commander may send us in harm's way. Often we fight for those who cannot defend themselves. For that I'm proud of my service and I do not need to defend my patriotism. I believe the US has the right to retaliate on those who support terror in ANY form. We also have the right to choose whom we respond to and how. If that is being an arrogant bully, so be it! de oppresso liber!

I spent years of my life serving and facing death to help the oppressed be liberated. THAT my friend shows emapthy

Freedom from what? They attacked us on our soil, not theirs. OBL's issue with the US was/is the american bases on "holy" soil. He didn't mind it when SFers were helping them get the Reds out of Afghanistan.
-
My guarantee is that I served 4 years in Special Forces training the tribesmen of Iran to fight IRAQIS and the freedom fighters of Afghanistan to fight the reds.

Oh you're definately the bigger man. You're the greatest. Thank you! About time you realized that!

He hasn't seen anymore than I have.. Personally, I GUARANTEE he hasn't seen more innocent people killed by war or terror than I have. What he saw in Europe was on TV (nothing happened in Denmark) What I saw in USA (my country) on TV -- Why can he say I don't know what itis like to see innocents killed?
-
amen

Every time we see family of a fireman, policeman, soldier, or 1000s of innocent wives, kids, brothers, sisters and parents of those who died on the 911 terror attack. What, you mean you saw them on TV? That's the extent of the interaction between the majority of the population of the US and the victims of 9/11. It's a rather different story in Iraq though. Didn't know Faber was from Iraq -- thought he said, Denmark.

I never think that killing other people is right.but i do understand why some one wants to kick ass in USA,just sad they didnt manneged to kill the right people instead of inocent people. So in your opinion, what American(s) should have been killed instead?
-
So, in essence you think USA deserved 911 ... thanks!
-
Rif, I APPRECIATE what you are doing, and I know you know what it is! Except for men such as you these people would not have the freedom to whine about their prez. Imagine doing that in Saddam's Iraq!
-
Oops, you're right. sorry, "them" too!
-
I realise this is your opinion but don't you think statements like this are highly inflamatory to the rest of the world?? Most of what I read in this thread is inflammatory.
-
Hey, why don't you just build a big freakin wall around the entire country? That always works. Because I don't believe the USA should be in the UN, means I think we should be isolationalist? Too large of a leap of logic for me to make. I simply do not agree with UN having authority over US military in ANY shape, way or form.
