  1. Well, it was costing me a lot until I got on staff, now I'm earning back some of my investment (or at least, I'm maintaining status quo, until I buy more video equipment)
  2. Not in my log book as most don't fit under BSR. But I guess they are jumps. For me it was so long ago anyway (military 1977-1980) (skydiving 2000 - present)
  3. I told them exactly what I do with it, and the most likely way it is to damaged, (bad landing or a jetison - never to be found)
  4. Two things: I have a digital Rebel. Yes, it was a lot more expensive than a 35mm camera, but I've paid for it already. I offer the tandems and Affs a CD of 25-35 stills after they jump. They can see the images right then. Over 95% have purchased the additional CD for $20. I also contacted my home owners insurance agency. I put a separate adendum for my camera gear. $40 a year covers all $4000 worth. $0 deductable. They understand that if I make a claim it is likely because it was dropped or damaged on a jump. No sweat they said. Now, I wouldn't want to do that very many times, but at least I'm covered.
  5. For that price, $450, you can get a SONY HC20 which works extremely well. That is what I have. Hard to go wrong with a Sony!
  6. I do 95% of my video jumps out of C-182. See my avatar for my set up. No problems. Initially I bumped the camera once or twice. After that I put gaffers tape across the top to protect the finish and learned how low to duck.
  7. You are not following what I said. Suicide bombers and other religous fanatics die for what they BELIEVE to be true. But Jesus disciples died for what they KNEW to be fact (as in they saw the risen Christ). Had they made his resurection up, it would be very unusual for them all to be willing to die for what they KNEW they made up.
  8. Yeah, people voluntary die all the time for beliefs that they KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT to be a lie. Yeah, sure, all the time. Notice, I didn't say think or believe, I said what the KNOW .. Ie Jesus' apostles.
  9. So are you saying IF there was a God who spoke EVERYTHING into creation, we should be able to fully understand him?? Sounds pretty prentencious (sp?)to me.
  10. Not reccommending it ... I'm just a vidot. Simply stating what one does. On another note ... Dave, lose the avatar!
  11. That's the method (sitting) Greg Gerondale uses at SDA. Another unnamed TM climbs out on the step like an AFF student. Mel Tilley dives the door.
  12. uppers: no limit -- jus gotta spot well. Lowers: depends more on gust speed and where they are coming from. Coming from the west across the hangers at 25 MPH and gusting to 30+ mph -- I'll usually sit.
  13. It's in premiere, I used it for my new promo. Dang, I can't remember where it is. I did a search for dountdown and it said: Go to projects window and hit create countdown .... Never found that link. But it is there -- check out my promo.
  14. Why? Light exist -- darkness doesn't, it is only "less light". In that same vein why can't goodness exist, and evil as "less than good"?
  15. Sign Sign everywhere a sign Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign Signs are everywhere, what they point to is up to you.
  16. Been to HA, very nice, but just like Cancun (Playa Del Carma) you only jump when tandems jump. So while the view is spectacular -- you may have to wait and you may not jump. Plenty of other things to do though! Now, cruising FL DZs sounds too cool!
  17. You're going to get a lot of opinions here, but I'll say this. If your flyings skills are a lot better than your photography skills I recommend the digital. Very easy to get good photos with limited photography experience or knowledge. That being said I hope to take a photog class soon.
  18. I have some on my website. As the vidiot sometimes I climb out on the step as the TM dives the door - other times I float as the TM leaves from a "sitting" position.
  19. Thanks, I'll remember that when I redo it this weekend. I'm changing the "color" (see previous posts) to get a less dark look. I guess my tone was dark too. No camera man, the camera is on a shelf.
  20. Foreign flick with subtitles, but well worth it. "Its a beautiful life" The main actor won Best Actor in comedy.
  21. Yeah, but after I look at it some more - I want to change out the first hanging container with a red one (not black) and take off my WFFC sweatshirt and wear the school bus yellow staff shirt. But I still like it.
  22. Taking JP's (and other's advice) I shortened it, took my big feet out, and put it at a DZ setting. I kept the dialogue the same though. It may not be totally original (Ferris Buehler) but I like it.
