  1. Sorry, no prototypes drawn yet -- thought of, but not drawn. Any resemblence to REAL people will be completly coincidental, except a few people at my small Cessna DZ. Server is down on NEIGHBORS site -- sorry. Yeah, a Farmer McNasty could be funny, especially if he had an amorous bull!
  2. On a previous thread I asked for a comic strip name about skydivers. I have decided with the simple DZ or DZ something. DZ being a play on words as it is the names of the two main characters, Zeus, the sky god, and either Dirk or Divot, the everyday jumper who has a ton of fun at the DZ, but will never be a medal winner. Well, which do you like best, Dirk or Divot?
  3. Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! Anybody else remember Dirk the Dragon Slayer?
  4. Dude I loved playing them Bearcats, 'cept they beat us 12-10 my junior year ('71) and 9-6 my senior year. Or was that Paris Wildcats??? Man, I'm getting old!
  5. bored? Me too! Too cold to jump here in OK! I like Dag, but probably too close to Dagwood, I like Duffy, but there use to be a strip called Duffy. Dallas I like (case I'm from Gainesville, TX - 60 miles from there) Duggan hmmmm or Doogan! I'm growing partial to Deuce (Deuce & Zeus - DZ - get it?) But I don't know how DZ.com's Deuce would feel about that.
  6. Dave I did like your "hook turn" and a few others. Your D words are too normal, well, except the last one. But in all truthfullness, I hear that one a lot too.
  7. Okay, I appreciate all the help. However, I'm leaning toward the very simple title "DZ" It would be a play on words as two the of the main characters are named D something and Z something. One would be the resident "sky god" whose name is ... what else ... ZEUS. I'm stuck on the "D" name. This character is your everyday skydiver who loves it, but probably won't win any medals. His name needs to start with a "D" Darwin? Dante? Any other "D" suggestions?
  8. Any suggestions for a comic strip name about the life of a few jumpers and their small DZ?
  9. t-shirt design is their plan right now -- they made a embroidered design of FFFloyd on his belly already --looks good. Parachi has their own logo -- this is simply a t-shirt type design. I added the soft handles
  10. Wayne -- go to the floyd website again and you'll see the jumpmunki logo I made for you. Hope you like.
  11. I think you may be right -- I'll make that as an option. Check back! Thanks for the input!
  12. Parachi made my two and I'm VERY happy with them. Very affordable as well. http://www.skydiveairtight.com/ParaChiDesignz.html
  13. I was asked to draw up a Free Fly version of my Freefall Floyd. (The skydiver's answer to Eskimo Joe) I mostly do video for AFF & tandems. I do "some" FFing (as in SIT, no HD yet.- not that I hadn't tried) so I thought I'd get some FFers advice. Anyway, what do you think of the logo? Will Parachi like it? http://www.skydivevideo.info/floyd.html BTW - He has to be kept simple for embroidering and silkscreen purposes.
  14. I wouldn't tell you it isn't dangerous, because it is, but if there were incident reports readily available about football, scuba diving, motorcycle riding, etc. It would probably give you the same sense of trepidation as the skydiving incident reports do.
  15. Looks real good to me. When my TM points down like that, he doesn't mean get steeper, he means means the spot is screwed!
  16. Famous? Oh yeah, sure. Truth is -- this is part of my 15 minutes of fame. Since I started flying camera I started noticing al the names of vidiots in Parchutist and Skydiving. My two pix are not worth mentioning (except to me)
  17. Hey! I got in PARACHUTIST twice this month -- can I toot my own horn? It was my first published freefall pictures. Page 21 Page 39 Top right corner on both pages
  18. I WAS in the medical field too. I was a Special Forces medic (ODA 552 CO B 2nd BN 5th SFG) and a Respiratory Therapist years later, but my experince is limited and distant. I'll let the others express why, but my personal experience as a vidiot is I'm better off keeping things aligned. Search these forums and you will get lots of reasons why you should NOT turn your head. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=775998;sb=post_username;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  19. I would NOT recommend that -- keep everything aligned with your spine! Ask the experienced vidiots like Lew and Quade. I "bet" they say the same.
  20. Terry Goode visited the DZ during the Christmas holidays and he took this shot of me videoing a tandem. This kid lucked out and had two views of his video for the price of one (plus we threw in the extra 2K from 10 to 12K for free to make a better video of the video. Merry Christmas!
  21. As always -- top quality stuff, with few peers!
  22. No advice here, as I'm only a coach and a vidiot, but can I get in on that bet?
  23. Peter: VERY fast on my cable modem. Tremendous editing, with fades and sun bursts, etc. The ONLY thing I didn't like as much as the rest was the split screen simply because it made the images smaller. I liked it better when it filled the screen. JMHO A+ all the way, though!
