    Before I got my FTN I used an Optic and had no problems getting the student and TM's face in frame as we crawled out on the step to exit a cessna. Now with the FTN I find myself getting the TM but missing the student or only getting the top of their head because we're so close. I can look down at their chest (which is what I do when inside the airplane) and that keeps the student's face in frame, but if I do that on exit I can't see the TM's count ... not good. any suggestions?

    The irony to me was you misspelled in the post where you so proudly boasted on your spelling ability. I didn't think the spelling comment was necessary. To most people it was obvious you can spell and many can't ... so what. [Typical school system that says everyone must pass or else their self esteem will be lowered] I think the spelling rant distracted from the strength of your argument, but maybe that was your intent.

    Yeah, I've seen videos of his ... awesome stuff! I'd like to meet Arvel. Maybe I will when my son graduates SF. I look forward to going back to Smoke Bomb Hill and see how much has changed. I'll bring my rig and stop by Raeford and try to find Arvel.

    Thanks, Mike. I lowerd the L bracket a half inch and moved the D box forward 1 inch -- whala! No more problem! Thanks for all the advice.

    #$%&* -- the flash popped up when I took a picture in the plane and I did not realize it would show in video! I looked at moving the camera as far forward as possible and with the wide angle lens, it still shows. I could raise the D box and move it forward -- don't want to do that. It was suggested to flip the "L" bracket and hang the still camera (digital rebel) upside down -- I don't want to do that either. My best guess is I should tape down the flash and add a separate flash. But since I'm the only vidiot at our small DZ I have no one to bounce this idea off or which flash I should buy or how to set it up. I will do a search on this forum for some info, but if anyone has some advice I'd appreciate a PM. After spending $645 on a FTN I need a cheaper one -- anybody got a used one? What is your favorite brand and what should I look for?

    About 5 lbs 6 ounces. It has a Sony HC20 long with the Digital Rebel.

    I have that -- but I find it way to hard to adjust easily -- that is why I went with my old swivel knob.

    I said "Borrow" a cat. I've had a cat or two before -- if he gets a meal (even if it is the swallows) he's staying. Then I'd have to get a dog ... hmmm, not a bad idea!

    Last year some swallows made their little mud nest under the eaves and above my front door. Never having seen swallows nest I let them. Well, they pooped all over my front step and door, plus they make a mess with their mud. It is the poop that stained the concrete that was totally gross! Well, this year ... no way, Jose! I scraped off heir first layer of mud and put up a fake snake above my door, but they are constantly fighting the snake and putting up their mud. Any ideas? Don't try to convince me to let them stay -- ain't happening. Just tell me how I can keep them away without harming them? What's wrong with Capestrano (sp?) anyway? Why can't they go there?
