You do know that you are butthead, Clay. Don't you? I'm changing my avatar. Why are you so much nicer in your PMs?

Hey Sunny~ I am not sure if you are joking, but this is VERY important to me. I hate disgusting bathrooms. They frighten me. Anyhoo, I hope that I can afford to go to this boogie! I really want to meet MelStarr and see Alli, Laurel, Leanne and Mike Igo, again! Btw, I have important news. I have never freeflown in the sky, yet, but I apparently learned to "sit" in the tunnel!

I don't really drink too much due to health and meds. Also, I am lightweight, so any alcohol has a profound effect on me. When I am able to drink, I usually order an Apple Martini. Oddly enough though, I hate beer. I have bought it for my DZ firsts for everyone else to drink, but I don't drink it myself. I am open to drinking something tasty and new if it is bought for me as a friendly gesture, which has happened in the past. If there are any fabulous drinks that anyone feels that I should try, please let me know and I will.

Oh, it's a long story...the silver benz is a loaner (one of my dad's). My car is a gold one (benz), but it needs to be sold. It has had too many problems, lately. I am getting an SUV, but I am picky about major purchases. (I have been looking on and off for a year.) I need to live with this vehicle for the next few years. Basically, I need a vehicle which I can take to the DZ and which still looks professional at work. It's not easy to find that middle-ground with such contrasting life style situations. Edited: I forgot to add something. Please don't get me wrong...I LOVE (and appreciate) driving the Benz, but I always feel a little funny driving it onto the DZ. Sorry, Skymama, I hijacked your thread. Let's get back to Skymama, her procastination, luggage and Maltesers!

You don't understand...I feel so out of place and "over-dressed" in that car on the DZ. People at all DZs have been so nice, but I am a little embarrassed that I may look like a show-off when I drive up to new DZs in that car. I am not showing off...I just have no other car to drive. I had saved money to buy myself a new SUV earlier this year, but I decided to use all the savings that I had to buy my new car, immediately after jumping for the first time earlier this year. All my "car money" went towards AFF, my gear and jump tickets. I don't regret my choices, though...

Who's the Hottest Skychick you have NEVER met
VanillaSkyGirl replied to Squeak's topic in The Bonfire
YAY! We should do a three-way girlie kiss pass!!! -
Wowie Andrea! This bag thing is one of the reasons why I luv ya! Until my mid-twenties, packing for a trip meant packing everything but the kitchen sink! For the past several years, I've become an expert at traveling lightly. I traveled to my S. America (in winter)/Amazon trip (both hot and cold weather) with one small carry-on and a shoulder bag/purse. I felt so efficient! Anyhoo, I understand about needing a little more space and items for this jumping trip, Andrea, and I will help you with your bags when I drop you off at the airport. (Don't worry, we won't procastinate and arrive late...LOL!) About the luggage needed for this trip... I may also take more than my normal amounts of luggage because I am a cold-weather chicken. Now that I know how much luggage that you may be taking, I don't feel so bad. Let's just hope that I have a new SUV by then. The car that I regularly drive is a silver Benz, which looks so out of place on the DZ. (It's a bit embarrassing.) Anyhoo, keep your fingers crossed for that SUV!

Who's the Hottest Skychick you have NEVER met
VanillaSkyGirl replied to Squeak's topic in The Bonfire
See Dove, my sweet sister, I told you that EVERYONE loves you. It's probably because you are beautiful in every way. I can't wait to meet you. -
I know that there was a slightly older group of skydivers that did a "Santa Way" (a Santa Bigway) at Elsinore the weekend before last. Actually, they jumped not while wearing a full Santa Costume, but they had Santa Hats glued onto their frap hats. They are a very, very friendly group of jumpers. I would love to see pictures from that jump myself. If anyone has a picture of that jump, please post it.

Awesome Darcy! I will see you this weekend, for sure.

Tanja Dexters - the Hottest Skychick I've NEVER met
VanillaSkyGirl replied to flyingferret's topic in The Bonfire
I think that she looks the most beautiful in her Tanja300 freefall picture. I can't believe how gorgeous her face looks in freefall. Not to hijack this thread from you guys, but I was wondering about her long hair in freefall. When I used to rockclimb, I would do so with my hair down and blowing in the wind, but I am quite paranoid of having my long hair come out of my helmet in freefall. I have a fear of my hair getting tangled up with my lines, blowing in front of my eyes, etc., especially if there is a cutaway. Is that a possible scenario? I am even scared of having my long hair in braids. (Once my hair was in a low bun, and it loosened [but remain in a bun] so much in freefall that it whipped my neck until it was very raw and scratched up.) Once again, Tanja is very pretty. Carry on... -
((((((((((((((((((((((((VIBES)))))))))))))))))))) & (((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) for Rebecca. I'm so sorry that you are so sick. Please know that we are all sending our best wishes for your speedy recovery. You have a wonderfully sweet boyfriend to have begun a special get-well thread just for you. You two take care of each other and please get better soon. :) XOXOXO ROSA

Oh Kirsti, my sweet friend, you have moved me to tears once again. I am so very, very sorry that someone as loving as you had to experience this horrible tragedy tonight. I have tears streaming down my face because I was just in the process of PMing answers about my childhood to your last PM to me. It seems so irrelevant now. Life is so fragile. If not given its due respect, it can be taken away in an instant. My best friend died in an unexplained car accident on her way to work one morning just over 5 years ago. I, too, understand how death can sneak up like a sudden flash of light and change everything...forevermore. It is OK to mourn your loss. You are probably in shock right about now. Please take comfort in your loved ones. I will make myself available to you, too, Kristi, as you have been available for me. Do not ever hesitate to PM me or call me anytime. Please know that I care for you a great deal and that I admire you so very much. As always, you did all the right things tonight, Kristi. You are alive. You are also strong and wise beyond your years, so I know that you will handle the emotional ramifications of this night well. It will take some time, but I know that you will be OK. Love you, ROSA

LMAO! (YAY! Finally a thread today that doesn't have me bored to tears.)

You know, Erica, I was thinking the same thing. You look so beautiful.

Back off, Aussie dude! Be nice, like I know that you can be. You are taking this way too seriously. Skymama is a sweetheart. She is never shifty NOR underhanded! She can't help it if the men all trip over themselves to help her. She would help anyone in a pinch, too, if need be!

Tunnel Flight vs Real Flight
VanillaSkyGirl replied to shmali's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I truly believe that the tunnel is a very valuable tool for learning to perfect skills/technique. I want to fly my body beautifully and with much skill, so I will continue to go if it's a financial possibility. Although I can't afford to, I just now got off the phone with Brannon and booked myself a freefly tunnel camp as an early Christmas gift to myself. I currently don't know how to freefly at all, but I think that I will when I am done with my camp! I arrive on Wednesday. I hope to see you there, Arlo! ~
