Mujie, I'll definitely take you up on that offer. Maybe I'll put a together "A Skydiver's Handbook for Moving to DeLand" and sell it for a hug and a jump ticket Angela, I'm really thankful for my current job situation. I do freelance computer programming and the companies that I'm working for have told me that they're fine with it if I move to Florida. So I get to keep the same job I have now. My lease expired early summer so I've just been bumming around for the past month or so anyway so I'm free to go. I've been planning this for a while now but was having trouble deciding where I wanted to go. Some drunken bonfire talk with some really good skydivers this past weekend helped a lot I'm really excited for the move and can't wait to have a tunnel only an hour away. Goodbye wallet!

OK it took me a while, but I've finally decided that in October I want to move to DeLand, Florida.

Weights are something that you should definitely learn to use. Try a belt if you don't like the vest (I personally like the belts a lot more.) I'm 5'9 ~148 so I know how it is to fall slow. Get good coaching and do some tunnel time to learn to control everything a lot better. Without weights I can fall comfortably up to about 122 (after that it starts to hurt a bit.) This past weekend I was participating in the New England 100 way attempts and I was docking right on the base averaging about 128 mph fall rate (going as high as 138) wearing lead (15 lbs.) It is a great tool that will significantly help your skydiving. In response to the actual question, I have to agree with AggieDave - it depends on the material and cut of the suit. My Tony Suit is tight with "fast" materials (don't remember which) and I fall faster in it than shorts and a tee. Good luck! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Come on, everyone knows that it was aliens who knocked out the power for the terrorists but Bruce Willis and Will Smith managed to save us all without anyone knowing, jeez On a side note, thanks to all the workers involved in getting the power back up, I've got power after only about 7 hours without it! You guys rock! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I totally agree with this statement. I do believe in a God, but I do not fully buy into any one organized religion because, amongst other reasons, religions were created by people. There are also many aspects of religion which have nothing to do with the religion themselves but are just customs associated with that religion. For example: one of the Jewish holidays is Passover which revolves around the story of the Jews leaving Egypt. This holiday is a basically a celebration of the Jews leaving Egypt, but cannot truly be part of the core religion of Judaism specifically because it involves Jews. While the Jews were in Egypt they were still considered Jews, but the holiday did not yet exist because they had not yet left. Therefore following the Jewish religion does not involve observing that holiday. Since this is the case with many of the holidays, it leads me to wonder what the religion really consists of. I answered no to the question, but after reading through the other responses I would have to say yes but only for practical reasons. I would have to adapt to whatever changes the world made, but I would not change my core set of beliefs. All other things being equal the answer would be no. Note: this is all IMHO, no one else needs to buy into any of it, just sharing my views Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Well someone somewhere put a lot of time into creating it so we could all put some time into watching it I'd be really interested in seeing the code behind the software to generate that. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I'm sure it will be. The last three times (including today) that I wanted to do night jumps have all been cancelled due to the weather. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I know there are a few people who work for PD who read and post to these boards. Could we possibly get comments from them about this? I am very curious about the sizing questions. If this is the case with the current canopies will the Katanas be the same? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I've closed the door behind me a few times when I've been last out doing a solo. The trick is not to try to close it all the way and let go at the right time. One time after getting down the pilot said "Thanks, but please don't do that again" Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Yeah, I thought the skydiving scenes were pretty cool, but after they landed on the ship the next scene shows them in the same place but without any of their gear on. No sign of rigs or canopies. And the scene where she lands on the moving car was kind of silly. She approached in half breaks doing moving faster than it and when she cut away you saw one side go and then the other. Oh well, good effort. At least her outfits were nice Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

LOL, I'd definitely pay to see some of the world class teams dress up and to 4-way ballet What your describing would be years away at best. It takes time to build that much public interest and media support in something, but it's an interesting idea. I think if that ever happened though that it would serve to further differentiate the tunnel from skydiving. The two would grow to be completely different as opposed to one being a training tool for the other. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

8 way RW and 10 way speed (no grip, no show) are probably much less affected by Tunnel time than 4 way is. There's just too little space to practice 8 way and you can't practice floating and diving out trying to complete a formation on the hill. I'm not offering any suggestions as to how you could change the rules to reward freefall training, but just adding another element of RW into the discussion. I guess if you weren't allowed to take grips on exit you would need significantly more air time. I personally like the 4-way rules the way they are, but it's just a thought.
