  1. Would you support the idea of a gay civic union that would constitute the same binding agreement of marriage and that the government would recognize? Just wondering if it is a matter of semantics or the idea in general... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  2. But then you'd lose your Pooh-Bah PW status, you'd have to start allll over again FireCat's pretty cool though Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  6. http://data2.itc.nps.gov/morningreport/ At dusk on July 15th, Valley rangers were dispatched to the Mirror Lake area in response to a report of BASE jumpers seen coming off Half Dome. About 30 minutes later, three men, each carrying full backpacks that were consistent with concealing BASE gear, were observed briskly walking down the Mirror Lake Loop trail. When rangers questioned them, they gave answers that did not make sense. Kirby W. Hughes, who was holding a head-sized, ball-shaped object tightly wrapped in a shirt, told rangers that it was just his sweatshirt. Further investigation revealed that it was a skydiving helmet with a digital camcorder attached. Hughes and his cohorts, Allan D. Fox and Brian K. Cork, were all arrested for conspiracy and air delivery. A search of their packs incident to arrest revealed another skydiving helmet and camcorder, three parachutes and harnesses, and two Birdman wingsuits (flight suits with cloth "wings" under the arms and between the legs used to greatly increase horizontal glide and freefall time). 7. Bwahaha!! I wouldn't be too surprised if a case like this ended up in court: "Your honor, I didn't stop when I told myself to...." Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  8. Let's start a poll about if we think it's possible for a 17 year old boy having sex to stop immediately once started. Yes a girl (or a guy for that matter) has the right to change his/her mind about having sex, but I completely agree with you Ivan, "This sex thing is getting ridiculous" Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  11. I had Sprint but it turned out that their service stopped 2 miles from where I lived. I called them and they confirmed this, but they said that they could help me out by lowering my monthly rate. I asked them how that would help considering the phone still wouldn't work. They responded by saying they could further lower their rates for me. I told them to please cancel my service contract and I went with Verizon. Great service where ever I go and cheap rates. Plus where ever I am in the nation I can call where ever else I want in the nation for the same low rate. Oh, I also got to meet James Earl Jones while playing in an orchestra for a piece that he was narrating. Nothing to do with why I chose Verizon, but kind of related. 14. According to Webster: Main Entry: 1vir·gin Pronunciation: 'v&r-j&n Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Old French virgine, from Latin virgin-, virgo young woman, virgin Date: 13th century 1 a : an unmarried woman devoted to religion b capitalized : VIRGO 2 a : an absolutely chaste young woman b : an unmarried girl or woman 3 capitalized : VIRGIN MARY 4 a : a person who has not had sexual intercourse b : a person who is inexperienced in a usually specified sphere of activity 5 : a female animal that has never copulated From dictionary.com vir·gin ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vûrjn) n. A person who has not experienced sexual intercourse. A chaste or unmarried woman; a maiden. An unmarried woman who has taken religious vows of chastity. Virgin The Virgin Mary. Zoology. A female insect or other arthropod that produces fertile eggs without copulating. Hmmmm, acoording to some of those definitions a guy can never be a virgin. I am not an unmarried maiden, the Virgin Mary, nor am I a female insect... Edited to add: No mention of being pentrated by male penis, but did you really have to specify MALE penis? 16. I was talking about this with an S&TA this weekend while we were grounded due to high winds. We agreed that the maximum winds differ depending on where you are. At a small dropzone surrounded by trees or buildings and therefore lots of potential turbulence, the maximum winds I would feel comfortable jumping in are significantly lower than in a big open area. A good rule of thumb is if you have to think about whether or not you feel comfortable jumping for more than 5 seconds, don't jump. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  17. I know it's been replied to already, but some of the code that I am working on (right now in fact) is supposed to do just that - be able to change the way it works based on what the other software around it is doing. Yes it is programmed to do this, but the idea is for it to be able to "think" on its own. There is also buggy code - most of the time when software crashes, it wasn't actually programmed to do that... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  19. Thanks for all the information. I was away at Skydive New England over the weekend and spoke with Keith MacBeth about this also and have figured out what I want. Now I just need to actually order my canopy from PD since everyone just seems to laugh at me when I talk about trying to find a used Lightning 126... New canopy, here I come
  20. I started freeflying right off student status (~25 jumps.) At about 120 jumps I realized that my belly skills sucked (I could not fly my slot on anything bigger than a 4-way) so I decided to go back to flying on my belly. I've been mostly doing RW since then with about 30 CRW jumps and about 20 freefly jumps and am totally loving RW. I definitely believe now that you should have decent belly skills before learning to freefly. I know this isn't exactly what you were asking, but figured I'd share. Enjoy whichever you decide on! 21. Yes, I think is what I meant. I know I was told that there are different options available for the different CRW disciplines. What is the different in the line trims then? I also thought that this was standard with CRW canopies, but I guess not, I'll definitely have to tell them that. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  23. I'm looking into buying a Lightning and I have been told that there are different riser settings you can get for doing sequencial or rotation or speed, etc. Could anyone tell me what the different settings are and what the advantages and disadvantages of each are? I know about the Vetrap and two to ones, but I was told there's other settings as well. I haven't been able to find any information about this.
