Oops, I must have missed that part of his post. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

So let me get this straight, one square foot less means better opening? Hmm, give me a pair of scissors, I'm downsizing to a Stiletto 134 tonight! I would assume that the better opening was something in the manufacturing process of that specific canopy? I was told that with the FX and the VX that if you buy two of the same size they may fly very differently (two FXs or two VXs, not an FX compared to a VX.) That video can be found Here Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Yeah but they were all going in the same direction. For a REAL six way swoop they'd each need to be going in a different direction... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Did you notice much (if any) of a difference between the two canopies? 1 square foot doesn't seem like it would make a difference, but maybe when it gets that small it does? Just curious. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Yeah the video is pretty big, I should have added that it's 36.9MB. Drew, I think I had the second least amount, there was one girl (from VA I think?) who had about 200. I think I came in second at just under 500, although I hit 500 last weekend! It was a real honor to be jumping with all of the others and be a part of that. And then to get the 2-point 77 way on the very next jump, it was definitely a great experience. Tree - Bruno told me that he doesn't have any video on his 55 yet, he sent me that vid of him on the 62 and told me that it's ok if I upload it. I uploaded (with his permission) a video of Bruno with his old VX 62 to ftp.skydivingmovies.com You can find it Here Edit to add - the video is 36.9MB Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

WTF is up with all the bashing comments? Sure he's not getting the most distance/speed/performance out of his canopy, but he has stated that that's not his purpose. I personally don't think I will ever fly something that small (and at 500 jumps I'd have a looooong way to go anyway) but if he has fun doing it then fine. Bruno - could you post that 36mb video on ftp.skydivingmovies.com? I'd be very curious to see it. edit - ftp.skydivingmovies.com Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

It's called Out of the Blue and you can order it directly from PSTs website. The link is just below the navigation buttons on the left side of the page (click the Buy Now button.) Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com -
Having been on several big ways organized by Guy Wright, my understanding of the fast falling base is to keep the entire formation at a comfortable fall rate for the late divers. As more people dock on the formation it slows down and if it slows down too much, the late divers would have a hard time docking on it. A fast fall rate also makes the formation easier to get back up to should someone go low. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

That's what happens when I actually have to work and can't keep up on all the new posts. I searched for the URL and some words in the article. Damn, guess my searching skills suck. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I guess I midunderstood him then. I thought he had been saying something that at the top level of competition that there was a point of diminishing returns on the tunnel, but as I said, guess I midunderstood. I'll see him this weekend and ask. Sorry about any confusion. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

I was told that the video promo available on their site is a compilation of a few years of footage and if they are to come out with a full length video it is probably still a ways away. Just what I heard... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

And a really good team is greater than the sum of its parts. Indivdual performance is extremely important, but so is being able to jump as a team. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Well, yeah! I already told you about all the other people going there just for you, the SkyMama team... Must... resist... urge... to... stalk.... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

Lingerie Dive at the RANCH...SATURDAY, SEPT 6th !!!
NeedToJump replied to ranchgirl's topic in The Bonfire
Crystal, You picked a perfect date for that - that weekend is the NY state record attempts (I believe 84-way sequencial.) The dz will be packed with people all getting to see the sky hotties landing as we're "debriefing"... Since the otters will by flying formation loads all day you should see about organizing a lingerie formation load! I'm sure it would be some kind of record. I think of a stand as a fast sit. It's basically the same but with your legs extended (like you were speeding up a sit) and therefore a bit less stable because there is less area being presented into the wind. I turn the same way as I would in a sit, either move one hand behind me, turn my hands so they are at 45 degree angles to the wind or turn my upper body in the direction I want to turn. The best way to learn (as you correctly stated) is with coaching. Second to that is to go out with people who are better than you and have them get into a fast stand or HD so you have to be in a stand to keep up with them and you turn to face them without even thinking about the physical movements needed to do so. My fastest stand was 206 according to my ProTrack(arms straight up above me.) Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

How Long Did It Take For Your "A"?
NeedToJump replied to Fireflyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It took me a while to get my A as well. I did my first jump in May of last year and didn't get my A until early September. I had a ton of stuff going on last summer and didn't get too much of a chance to jump that much. Since then I've jumped as much as I could and have about 435 jumps now so there's still hope! Packing was the last thing I learned to do also. Stick with it, get your A and have fun. Good luck!! Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
