  1. Good to know, I hadn't even thought about that. I just used electrical tape because my risers are black and the tape matches. I'll replace it with some vet wrap. As for sticky stuff and nylon, well that's a whole separate thread... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  2. Well mama put me on the attending list so I guess so I'm definitely going to try to go, I should be able to. I think I still have about $100 on my account at Sebastian so it'll be like getting free jumps!
  3. Some people learn to pack (year) before they start jumping. I know some kids who pack who are years away from jumping. There's also people with a few hundred jumps who never learned to pack, they just get an instructor to sign off the two pack jobs. I would say that now is a good time to learn though.
  4. Awesome!! Congratulations!! Now let me know when you get bored with *just* owning one rig since I still have that other one... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  5. I have a piece of electrical tape that I put around the riser to keep the slink connector inside of it and prevents anything else from getting in there. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  6. I voted either is fine but it depends on the canopy and wingloading and personal opinion. One thing from your post I'd like to point out though: I do NOT think that 1.1 is a conservative wing loading for a novice. I'd stick with 0.9 or lower. 7. You gonna be around all week? I'm going to try to get there at some point during the week (maybe Wednesday?) but will definitely be there this weekend. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  13. How about setting a big-way raft dive record? Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  14. I did two jumps on a Classic, my first was with a BMI so I didn't try to see what kind of performance I could get out of it, I just stayed with him. My second one, according to the Protrack, I had an average speed of 61 mph, 60 for the first half and 62 for the second half. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  15. We take wing loading into account when determining exit order. The major factors are discipline, group size, pull altitude but if there's two 4-ways then we take wl into account. I've had a 4-way go out before my 7 way because all 4 of them (and their video flyer) had significantly higher wingloadings than any of us and we felt it would create too much traffic if they opened after us since they would be landing before us regardless. They are all also very very experienced jumpers. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  18. I'd be interested in jumping thte cutaway rig if RWS has a Skyhook in it, I'd love to try that and see how it works. As far as being ready for it, I think it would probably be a bit easier than the CRW entanglement... Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

  23. Have the flat flyers take high grips on each other and put their heads next to each other so they don't hit them during the freeflyers transition. Yes. The flat flyers need to make sure that their gear is freefly friendly and all three need to have a plan for breakoff and for what to do if it funnels. You probably should not have other freeflyers flying around you guys until "the base" is comfortable and can hold the hybrid for the entire dive. Talk to some of the experienced freeflyers at your dz about it too. Be careful and have fun Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
  24. bodypilot - if I head down there I'll bring my Lightning with me (1.31 without weights) mama - tell Asaf that if he brings the Skyflier that I'll jump it again Actually, tell him to bring a SF3 this time. Heck, I may even decide to buy one if he does. Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
